The Sign of Chastisement

In a follow-up to my recent post regarding Our Lady of Fatima and Islam, I should like to illustrate the current state of Christianity under the Islamist chastisement. Raymond Ibrahim is an excellent source for accurate information regarding the Islamist chastisement of Christians. In a recent posting, Mr. Ibrahim reported on something the mainstream Catholic media did not cover, which was the January 9th attack on a Catholic Chapel in Perugia, Italy where five muslims destroyed a statue of Our Lady and urinated on it. For the full story, follow the links above.

If somebody offends your Mother, what would you do?
If somebody offends your Mother, what would you do?

According to Ibrahim, five “immigrants” attacked a man praying before a statue of the Blessed Virgin at St. Barnabas Chapel in Perugia. Then, “… they unleashed their hatred against the image of the Virgin Mary. They broke the statue to pieces and then urinated on it.”

The incident has caused a stir among locals. Some have lambasted Pope Francis who is accused of appeasing immigrants—mostly Muslims—to wild extremes. Earlier, Pope Francis had said that “Migrants, through their own humanity, cultural values, expand the sense of human brotherhood.”

Ibrahim reports that the diocese “condemned the act of sacrilege against the Madonna statue”. I take issue with that, because the primary focus here should be that the offense committed by the muslims was first and foremost and attack against, not the statue per se, but against the Mother of God herself. Despite the insipid blather of Monsignor Guilietti, the auxiliary bishop of Città della Pieve, who denied that the act was an episode of religious hatred it cannot be understood in any other way. If the statue were of any other person, would the muslims have vented their hatred on it? Obviously not.

Ibrahim reported that Pope Francis on January 16, just a week after the muslim attack on the Blessed Virgin Mary, responded to the Charlie Hebdo slaughter by calling on Catholics to refrain from insulting other people’s religions, —namely Islam: “It’s normal, it’s normal [violence]. One cannot provoke, one cannot insult other people’s faith, one cannot make fun of faith.”

To which Ibrahim mused, “One wonders if the Pope would call it ‘normal’ if members of his own flock were to murder those who urinated on the Virgin statue?”

This latest incident illustrates two very important points. On the one hand, it shows graphically what Islam is without the Immaculata. Only Mary can transform Islam from satanic scourge. It is impossible to fight Islamic violence with violence. This is a spiritual warfare! Islam has the seeds of the faith, but only through Our Lady of Fatima will they come to fruition. Christ came into the world through the Virgin Mary and He will not convert muslims without Mary. The Christians who are dying daily at the hands of muslim fanatics bear witness to our failure to follow the commands of Our Lady of Fatima. The second point is the clear illustration of the diabolical disorientation of the faith most perfectly embodied in poor Pope Francis.  This sad, benighted creature is undoubtedly the epitome of Vatican II “enlightenment”. Every day, in new and different ways, he attacks his own faithful flock and supports those who seek to undermine or outright destroy it. This is a tragic derangement. Neither Islamic terrorists nor the apostate Roman hierarchy are able to repent and be converted without the Immaculata who alone can crush the head of satan and bring peace to the world in the reign of Christ the King.

Until the triumph of the Virgin of Fatima, the world will suffer mightily, the good as well as the bad, for the chastisement is wasted on the evil ones. They have chosen their fate, but the crucifixion of Christ’s faithful is fruitful of graces unto life everlasting. This is the greatest battle the world has ever seen, yet most Catholics sleep on, indifferent.

We must all join the fray and fight with all the spiritual weapons Our Blessed Mother has given us: devotion to her Immaculate Heart, total consecration, the Rosary, the First Saturdays of Reparation, devotion to the true Mass and the Blessed Sacrament. In addition, we must know the faith and do our best to awaken others to the truth. For a little while longer, we have the internet and sites like Catholic Family News and The Remnant Newspaper, but not for long. We have many locations here in the United States where the true Holy Mass of all times is said reverently, but not for long. Avail yourselves of every opportunity for sanctifying grace. Participate in Eucharistic Adoration whenever possible. Enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus and His dear Mother in your home and make Holy Hours of Reparation weekly or at least monthly. The daily Rosary (with family if possible) is essential.

Thus, you will be armed and strengthened for the battle when at last you and your loved ones are confronted with the chastisement in a most personal manner. To this end I will be posting soon a series on the Rosary to help distracted Catholics pray Our Lady’s Rosary more effectively.

May Our Lord bless you and prosper you in His work and may Our Blessed Mother keep you close to her Immaculate Heart.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us all now and at the hour of our death!

Viva Cristo Rey!
