The Feast of the Holy Family, 2016
Today, the first Sunday after Epiphany, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family, which is the last time in the liturgical year in which we honor the hidden life of Jesus.
Thus, it is fitting that in the Gospel today, we read of the event which comprises the Fifth Joyful Mystery, the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple. In this, we commemorate the first words of Jesus recorded in the Gospel, “How is it that you sought Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
St. Luke then tells us that Jesus returned to Nazareth with Mary and Joseph “and was subject to them.” In this brief account, we have several important lessons: First, Jesus establishes His mission in His first recorded words, “I must be about My Father’s business.” And second, Jesus was subject to Mary and Joseph. The Son of God first asserts the primacy of God, by stating that His mission is to serve the Father in all things, then Jesus affirms the importance of family, “He was subject to them.” On the firm bedrock of total obedience to God in all things, we can most perfectly live out our love of God within our families, whether they be our personal families or our religious communities. If love of God comes first, what follows cannot fail to serve Him.
In a recent post, we reviewed the disgusting mess offered by Pope Francis for this beautiful feast. We need not discuss it further, except to affirm clearly: Jesus Christ, true God and true man, Son of God and Son of Mary, lived His life in perfect, sinless loving obedience. Those who are His understand that. Those who are not … follow Bergoglio/Danneels.
For all my life, I have so loved the Holy Family! And I am so powerless to express to you the beauty, the richness of this devotion, the blessings that will come to you and sustain you more and more as you open your hearts to this Holy Family! Abide with them in these desolate times that are only just beginning. The true Mass will be more and more withdrawn from most of us. It has already begun in our area. To be clear, those of you who have access to the TLM, do not assume you will always have it so.
In the liturgical year, only a few days separate the Epiphany from the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple, but in actuality, there was the Holy Family’s dangerous Flight into Egypt, their stay among a people deeply antipathetic to their faith, and their isolation from the culture of their faith.
As the faithful are chastened in this post-synodal church, our families will be sustained, as was the Holy Family’s in Egypt, by faith, perhaps with no support from our local churches. This is already the case in so many places of this devastated modernist church, sad desolation!
Our Blessed Mother has given us what we need to save our souls and those souls entrusted to us. Look to your spiritual storehouse – all your family must be consecrated to Jesus through Mary, all must have their brown scapulars, miraculous medals, rosaries. Surely you pray together morning, noon (if possible) and night, Rosary, Angelus, Little Office (as possible), prayers to St. Joseph, weekly Holy Hour before your family Shrine to the enthroned Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.
I cannot recommend St. Joseph enough! Refer to previous posts (here), (here), and (here) for his importance, at Knock and even more so at Fatima. His assistance is immediate, and indicates how close he is to us, how strong and effective he is as our guardian and guide. The internet is such a terrible evil in our time, sucking the souls of so many right down the sewers to the cesspit of hell. And yet, as diamonds are found in the darkness of the earth, there are many spiritual treasures still to be found online. Please avail yourself of them so that you can keep true Catholic culture alive for your own little “Holy Family” for so should all our families be.
My time to be able to post is drawing to a close, and I am so eager to place everything I can at your disposal, but often find myself overwhelmed by the task, and my inadequate resources. One thing though, you must know: The prophecies posted here, especially the Marian and Apocalyptic prophecies, are to reassure you, to give your confidence: That as they unfold, we can understand that in His loving wisdom, God has told us ahead of time of these things. We need not be afraid, indeed, we should take heart! These hellish times must come! The great apostasy was foretold, and Our Immaculate Mother made several appearances to provide us with what we need to sustain our souls and those entrusted to us, so that not one of her children will be lost, no matter how much the devil may deceive others.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Joseph, protect us.
Holy Family, bless our family.
Thank You, Lord, for everything!
Remember, pray the Rosary and confound the devil!
