Election Note

Nisi solum Jesum.

If voting is the answer, what is the question?

The rest of this mad world may believe that they can vote away all the rot that has accumulated since 1960, when things became “clearer” as Sister Lucia foretold and the Pope publically defied the Mother of God… But you know better or you would not be here reading this. And on some level, you realize that the vermin currently possessing the White House and the vermin who are part of the massive Clinton scam are not going to disappear just because “uneducated white blue-collar workers” (as they so delightfully refer to us ) voted them out.

You know that the only way to make America or any country great is by a humble and contrite turning from sin, a true conversion of heart, true reparation and trust in God alone. In God alone is our salvation. Nisi solum Jesum.

Knowing this, you know what you must do.

For it is just when we relax and congratulate ourselves for our own “victory” over evil, that satan slips in unnoticed, and does his worst work. If there is any triumph in this, it must be from God, or it is a deceit.  And so we renew our fasting to strengthen our Rosaries, for we must carry so many of our brothers who have not yet awakened to the need for this.

While many celebrate what they perceive as a victory, we know that we must continue our fasting and rosaries for we remain in danger as never before. Often, exorcists tell us of a dreadful ploy of satan, who may appear to leave, only to attack most effectively those who have relaxed their guard. Much harm comes of this.

Most of you do not need the following reminders, but many do.

Our constant prayer:

“O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee and our sweet Mother, for reparation for sins, and for the conversion of poor sinners!”

Remember our Lord’s words about casting out demons, “This kind is not cast out, but by prayer and fasting.” If we are to be effective in saving souls and turning away the flood of iniquity in our country, our fasting and self-denial is essential. We will know that our efforts are bearing fruit when we increase in love, in fervor to save souls, in devotion through our Rosaries.

When people tell me they fall to distraction in their rosaries and find it tedious, it is always (never otherwise!) always because they have not fasted or performed other acts of self-denial. For if we constantly feed our need for self-comfort, we cannot pray properly.

Although our families and friends may not perceive it, we know that this is the time that we have been given by our Lord Jesus Christ to share His Passion and Death, and that to this end, He has given us His own beloved Mother.  While others celebrate their victories, we quietly pray and offer our penances.

For we know that, despite what others may say, there is no other way but this, the quiet, unknown way of the Cross. It is not by social media, nor even by political action (in and of itself) that souls are saved and societies transformed, but by the Cross. By our crosses, carried with quiet joy, giving thanks to God in all things.

You are here. You know this. Others do not. They need our penances, our prayers. They need our love. Very soon, we shall be asked to account for this.

  1. A reader emailed (because I forgot to turn on the comments!), the following:
“thank you and your sobering words after this time of election. Though I breathed again in thanksgiving that we’ve been given a 2nd chance, I know that we must continue to fast & pray…and hopefully, prayerfully, help others along this way. ”

    My response, somewhat edited:

I have received so much ill response to my political posts that I resolved to stop them, but cannot bear to see Catholics, especially those with blogs, celebrating as though they can just mark a ballot and all is solved.

As though one might stamp their foot and chase away the devil.

Each day, I am asked for more prophecies but almost no one heeds the ones already released. Do they think there is some more felicitous prophecy for them?

There is no better prophecy than the Apocalypse itself especially when coupled with the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and His most Blessed Mother, In the end, she will triumph. In the end, we know that God will never fail us.

I very much fear that this country will slip into civil chaos soon. It will be the beginning of great sorrows. I am trying to prepare my readers spiritually, but they prefer not to hear, and so very few readers are left.

Perhaps I should, as St. Anthony did, go talk with the fishes!

Hi evensong. I so appreciate your emails and insights! I, too, fear this country will slip into civil chaos soon. Those who oppose Trump are in full-force rebellion. Much prayer, and yes—fasting– is needed.

May we pray for division and evil to end, and for the peace and love of Jesus to be in all hearts. God bless.

Please keep writing and know that you are not alone. I, for one, would appreciate your preparing us spiritually, and I’m sure others would, too. Besides prayer and fasting and living our lives as best we can, what else are we to do? Also, do you suggest specific books or authors? Thank you.

    • Thank you Helen.
I have updated my old post, “Politics and damned politics”, to explain my position a bit better. As I explained, I did vote for Trump, when my confessor instructed me that not to vote against evil was a sin of omission.
Although I voted as I was told to, I need to point out that politicians have no more regard for “the will of the voters” than the Pope and Bishops have for the faithful who support them.

The world has turned from God. Very few serve Him, but we who do must not become so distracted by secular matters that we fail to apply ourselves to the work we have been given. Without a firm spiritual basis, we cannot prevail in any earthly work.

Since you were kind enough to ask, I will write soon on some good books. Right now, the ones I have recommended for preparation for Consecration: St. Louis Marie de Monfort’s “True Devotion to Mary”, Father Stehlin’s “Who Are You, O Immaculata?” and St. Maximilian Kolbe’s “Let Yourself Be Led by the Immaculate”.
“Divine Intimacy” by Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, Father de Caussade’s “Self-Abandonment to Divine Providence”. St. Francis de Sales’ “Introduction to the Devout Life”.
These should be a good start.
Please write more if there is anything I can help with.
May God be with you always, and Mary keep you close to her Immaculate Heart!

    Dear Evensong,

Not everyone is fooled. My training is in the military (and in the law) and I see this election as nothing more than a delaying action. We bought ourselves some more time, but a sober assessment of the strategic situation shows that the enemy has not even been weakened, let alone defeated.

We have more time for prayer, fasting, and conversion. God is indeed good. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

    • In response to ATW:
Thank you so much for you comment. I agree that this is a time for us to prepare spiritually for what is coming.
I hope that people are able to see the danger ahead, not to be disheartened, but to arise, take up our spiritual arms and prepare ourselves and those we are entrusted with.
Our Blessed Mother has promised us that whatever we ask for through her Rosary will be granted, and she has instructed us to pray after every decade of that same Rosary, “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.”
There, in a nutshell is all: We must pray for all, all! It is for Our Lord to decide, we pray for all, unceasingly, offering everything in our lives (as someone said recently, “every silly little detail”) to Jesus through Mary for love of Him, in reparation and for the conversion of sinners.
If the prominent Catholic leaders had only explained the importance of spiritual preparation, following the message of Fatima, we could really “make America great”. As Our Lady has told us, we cannot do it without her.
May our most Blessed Mother keep you always close to her Immaculate Heart.
