Shoring up the ruins, once more

NOTE: There is an addition at the bottom of the post regarding the Pope’s masterstroke of PR in the Chilean sex abuse scandal.

I’ve been corrected on my post “Shoring up the ruins?” by readers who have pointed out that the Pope’s “Testament” appeared to be an attempt to keep Bishops who commit irregularities from personally profitting from their abuses. In response, I reaffirm that the Vatican has set aside an office at the Vatican Bank for this project, and a possible interpretation is that the Vatican anticipates some danger to the Church’s financial and real property assets, not only in Chile but in various countries throughout the world, notably America. I have been told that there is a distinct possibility that Germany’s government may end its largesse to the Church as may the United States. Perhaps this is false information. But perhaps it is not.  Let us then, watch and pray.

In a recent post we quoted from Sandro Magister

As an addendum to these statements of Pope Francis on the ultimate intentions of himself and of other pastors of the Church, it must also be pointed out that the secretariat of state recently distributed to all the cardinals, to the apostolic nuncio, and to curia officials five pages of “Guidelines for the drafting of a testament,” dated February 18, 2018.

The first guideline is to draw up the testament “with the Vatican notary,” or to write it in pen from start to finish, sign and date each page, and keep it in a sealed envelope not at home but “in a secure place, for example at the Institute for Works of Religion, which has an office set up for this purpose.”

In the second place, “with the exception of rights that the law reserves for legitimate heirs,” it is suggested that a “universal beneficiary” be identified in an ecclesiastical organization recognized as “exempt from inheritance taxes,” with the caution of “indicating the non-lucrative purposes for which the assets are transferred to that specific organization.”

For example, “if the beneficiary is the Holy Father, the purpose will be: ‘for His works of charity, or for Peter’s Pence,’” while “if the beneficiary is a religious Congregation, the purpose will be ‘for the charitable works of the Institute.’”

In that post, I remarked,

“A special office has been set aside in the Vatican Bank, Institute for Works of Religion. It begs the question, what does the Vatican expect to happen?

Note that the Guidelines were set up this past February, about the time that the cover was being blown off the Chilean scandal and the Pope himself was becoming inextricably entangled in the scandal. Note also that several close to the pope have become implicated in this scandal or others, for instance, unrepentant Cardinal Errazuriz and Cardinal Maradiaga. Add to this Cocopalmerio’s problems with drug smuggling and homosexual orgies within the Vatican,  and the homoerotic “artwork” of Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia and you see that there has developed an undeniable stench in this papacy.

The Pope’s  “Testament”, far from being a spiritual testament similar to that of St. Paul as Pope Francis claims,  is a thinly veiled attempt to prevent the seizure of finances and properties in the event of legal judgements against the numerous prelates who are to be convicted. There may be much more scandal coming to light and it appears that the Vatican considers that the Pope himself may not be immune.”

A reader has since referred me to a passage in Henry Sire’s book which I had overlooked,

” . . . in 2016 Pope Francis staked all his chips on a Clinton presidency. Those around him, beginning with Cardinal Parolin (who better to advise on American affairs?) told him that Donald Trump had no hope of winning, and on Francis’s orders APSA financed  Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign (it is now being said that the money used for it came from Peter’s Pence, the donations of the faithful made supposedly for charitable purposes). Francis also intervened in the campaign by word, implicitly accusing Trump of not being a Christian.”

(. . .)

“The political consequences of the fiasco are various. The White House has strong cards to play against the Vatican, and one may be surprised that it has so far held back from playing them. It is known that the CIA was monitoring the Conclave of 2013, and the thought of the use the American government might make of its knowledge is said to be causing sleepless nights in the Curia.

The occasions for intervention require little finding. With the failure of the Holy See to reform its criminal financial structures, for which the evidence mounts day by day, one can readily see the international community, led by America, deciding to announce that enough is enough.

As regular readers are aware, I am certainly no expert on financial matters, much less on the complexities of the Vatican’s finances. I am merely pointing out something curious here and suggesting that readers may want to take note and see how events unforld. Yesterday’s post by Sandro is yet another indication of the ongoing saga of the decomposition of the Bergoglian papacy. “Three Gone. The ‘C9’ Keeps Falling To Pieces”.

The world is on the very brink of a catastrophic financial crisis and various governments are seeking  sources of tax income. The Church holds massive amounts of largely tax exempt property, which some suggest is the reason for the cowardice of Bishop’s Conferences. But what if their cowardice – and often their complicity – were not enough? This corrupt Vatican may be even more vulnerable than ever before.

Hence you see the Pope’s cheap, self-serving photo op with the Chilean Bishops and the disgusting ploy with one victim of abuse:

“Speaking to Spanish newspaper El País, Cruz said: “He [the Pope] told me,
‘Juan Carlos, that you are gay does not matter. God made you like this and loves you like this and I don’t care.
“The pope loves you like this. You have to be happy with who you are.”

See what a master of Public Relations this pope is. He is using the unfortunate victim of clerical abuse, Cruz, to demonstrate, “Look at him, he’s a sodomite, and he’s happy! God loves Him this way, therefore sexual abuse is not abuse at all. It is merely an initiation rite into the elite!”

What have we been saying from the beginning? Greed, lust, pride, . . . all these are the fruits of Vatican II which was fostered by the disobedience of Pope John XXIII. He planted the seed, Vatican II flowered forth and Pope Francis is the noisome fruit it yielded. For those who have eyes to see – and noses to smell! – the stench of the Vatican is overwhelming.

Though few may hear the warnings, and even if no one sees the need,

There has never been a better time to pray the Rosary and make reparation to the Immaculata and Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.

Please pray for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

~ by evensong for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!
