As it becomes ever more obvious that the sexual abuse crisis in the Church is predominately a crisis of homosexual predators among the clergy, we are seeing more and more homosexual commenters slander the Church. The liberal clique of modernist “experts” in academe and the media have been doing this snide sort of sniping at the faith for years now, accusing Catholic saints – who cannot defend themselves – and even casting aspersions on Our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is not really surprising that someone obsessed with unnatural lust would attribute that same disgusting sin to others, but to accuse Our Lord and Saint John the Beloved of such a perversion would seem to be grounds for excommunication. But of course, these days it would only get Andrew Sullivan an honored place in the pantheon of this pope, right between Emma Bonino and that smarmy James Martin.
The agenda in these attacks is to gain acceptance among rank and file Catholics for an impure clergy, freed from the “outdated” vows of celibacy into an “enlightened” acceptance that, as Pope Francis reminds us, “God made you this way”. The barrage of propaganda pushing this agenda has only just begun and it is a non-stop attack against Our Lord and His Church.
My concern in all this is that the filth spewed by Sullivan and his ilk, sly innuendos against Our Lord and His Holy Church, will, if repeated enough, have some “sticking power”. That has happened so often lately. We are all battle-weary and the attacks seem unrelenting. That is why I thought to repost the following on blasphemy against Our Lord. You and I were not there when the people mocked Our Lord as He struggled with His Cross. We could not defend Him then, but now, we have this opportunity to stand with Him and adore Him and make reparation. We cannot stop the lying traitors who are determined to slur Our Lord and His saints, but we can share His pain and offer our own pain as reparation for these insults.
I wrote the following a year or so ago, but hope that it will stir us to make reparation for blasphemy against Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blasphemy is an essential component of satan’s plan to destroy the Kingdom of Christ on earth. This has long been a staple of the so-called entertainment industry; to slip at least one incident of blasphemy against the Lord, most especially in the form of “Jesus!” said sneeringly or vehemently and almost always by a protagonist. By this, Hollywood presents blasphemy of Our Savior’s name as a model to be emulated. I consider this knee-jerk blasphemy as Hollywood’s tribute to their true master.
A growing trend is to discuss the priest sex abuse crisis and slip into the discussion little tidbits of gossip, confiding slyly that this or that respected saint was in a same-sex love, whether it be chaste or not. Not even Our Lord is exempt from this nasty innuendo and both Mary Magdalen and Saint John the Evangelist have been used to sow doubt.
To counter this institutionalized blasphemy, we offer St. Jean Marie Vianney’s Sermon on Blasphemy:
Saint Jean Vianney recalls us to the early days of the Church when Saints Peter and John went up to the Temple to pray and met a beggar who had been lame from birth, begging at the Temple door. Saint Peter said, “Silver and gold I have none; but what I have, I give thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk.” (Acts 3,6)
“And Annas the high priest, and Caiphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.  And setting them in the midst, they asked: By what power, or by what name, have you done this?  Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them: Ye princes of the people, and ancients, hear:  If we this day are examined concerning the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he hath been made whole:  Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him this man standeth here before you whole.
 This is the stone which was rejected by you the builders, which is become the head of the corner.  Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.  Now seeing the constancy of Peter and of John, understanding that they were illiterate and ignorant men, they wondered; and they knew them that they had been with Jesus.  Seeing the man also who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. (Acts 4, 6-14)
But there is a Name which is above all other names, a Name which we must always pronounce with the greatest reverence, with the most blissful happiness and the tenderest love, and that is the Name of Jesus.
Holy Scripture tells us of this Name:
“Who humbled Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross. Wherefore God also hath exalted Him, and hath given Him a name which is above every name.” (Philippians, 2, 8-9)
The Angel of God told Joseph: “Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matt. 1. 20-21).
On the Feast of the Circumcision of Our Lord: “And after eight days were accomplished that the Child should be circumcised His name was called Jesus, which was called by the angel before He was conceived in the womb” (Luke ii. 21).
This most holy Name was from all eternity hidden with the mystery of the Incarnation in the bosom, in the heart, of the Father, and descended at the same time with the fulfillment of this mystery from Heaven, so that we men might express in a worthy manner our respect and our gratitude for what the Son of God, in His human nature, out of His incomprehensible love for us, had done and suffered for our salvation.
The name of Jesus was placed over the head of the crucified Saviour on Golgotha; Jesus Nazarenus, Rex Judæorum (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews), but now it shines over heaven and earth, to the glory of God the Son.
The wonderful power of the Name of Jesus.
In the first place, it is the Saviour Himself who assures us of the wonderful power of His divine Name, for He says of those who believe in Him: “They shall cast out devils in My Name, they shall speak new tongues, they shall pick up snakes, and if they drink anything poisonous, it shall not harm them. They shall lay their hands upon the sick and heal them.”
“Verily, verily, I say unto you,” He says to His Disciples, “if you ask the Father anything in My Name, He will grant your request. Hitherto you have not asked for anything in My Name, but pray, so that you may receive, that your joy may be perfect.”
Saint Jean Vianney also reminds us of Saint Paul’s words to the unfortunate young woman at Philippi who was possessed of a divining spirit, “I command thee, in the Name of Jesus Christ, depart out of her!” (Acts 16, 18)
The Curé adds that Saint John the Beloved Apostle was once ordered to drink poison which he obediently did after first uttering the Name of Jesus over it to bless it. He was thus saved from death. The more devoutly we reverence and call upon the Name of Jesus, the more will our Saviour show a tender and perceptible love toward us. “My Jesus,” says St. Augustine, “as soon as I begin to utter Thy Name, I perceive an unearthly sweetness in my mouth, and an amazing change of heart.” “The Name of Jesus,” says St. Bernard, “is as honey in the mouth, a sweet sound in the ears, and a joy to the heart.” How sweet and consoling is the Name of Jesus, in all the pains and sufferings of this changeable life, but it is sweetest of all at the hour of death.
With the Name of Jesus on their lips, the Saints of God breathed forth their souls. Jesus was their last prayer, their last sigh. “Lord Jesus, receive my soul!” This is how St. Stephen prayed when they were stoning him to death, and so he died in the Lord. “Jesus, my love!” sighed the holy martyr Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch, as they led him to his death, to be torn asunder by the wild beasts.

Readers, we think on these holy images from true saints and do not give a moment’s notice to the “professional” catholic talking heads who are so willing to spit on Jesus for a price. But Our Lord’s name can never be sullied by the traitorous false catholics who spit on Him and His beloved saints. Their vileness only redounds to their own destruction. This is the Passion of the Church and we know to whom has been given the victory!
Grant us, most merciful Jesus that Thy most holy Name may ever be to us through all our life and especially at the hour of death, our consolation and our hope and in Heaven our eternal joy and blessedness. Amen
