Belatedly, I offer our Rosary Novena post. I have been ill and unable to fulfill the demands of our blog and apologise. Many thanks to those kind enough to remind me! It is quite encouraging to see how many have been, on their own, contributing to an ongoing Rosary Crusade for our beleaguered Church under this latest and most determined attack by our false shepherd.
As one reader remarked, “I plan to just continue an extra Rosary a day plus adding a fast every Saturday in reparation, until this Pope converts or dies, as long as God grants me life.” My response was a heartfelt Amen.
The Rosary Novena was to have begun on August 13 and run until October 5, the eve of the Pan-Amazon Synod. And so if you have not begun, it is not too late to start, just continue on for the 54 days. The Synod will take place in Rome from October 6-28. The location is important, and situating it in Rome indicates that it is actually going to be applied to the universal Church, and not limited to the Amazon area.
To participate simply commit to one five decade Rosary each day for the intention of the triumph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in order to safeguard the Faith at the Synod.
On her sixth visit to Fatima, Our Lady identified herself as Our Lady of the Rosary. By claiming the title of Our Lady of the Rosary, her title “Our Lady of Victory” was implied. For history is replete with her victories through her most Holy Rosary. (Here and here).
In earlier posts, for instance, “Fatima at 100, Presage of Victory”, we discussed that Christ the King prefers to triumph through the most Blessed Virgin Mary. In the vision of Saint John Bosco which begins with “It was a dark night”, the victory was foretold thus:
Well, it is time for us to break out the heavy armaments, don’t you think? Let’s renew our efforts to seek the help of our great friend and protector, Saint Joseph. There’s a very good prayer at the end I believe you may like, in case you do not have it already.
True devotion to Saint Joseph is an integral part of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Indeed, the very reason for Saint Joseph’s appearance on Our Lady’s last visit to Fatima October 13, 1917 was to emphasize this devotion, which will save families in this crisis.
“We saw, beside the sun, Saint Joseph with the Child Jesus and Our Lady clothed in white with a blue mantle. Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus seemed to bless the world with gestures which they made with their hands in the form of a cross.”
(Sister Lucia of Fatima)
This little noted event tells us so much! Even as the miracle of the sun is occurring, St. Joseph appears, holding the Child Jesus and both bless the world. This reminds us that God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, entrusted the Child Jesus to St. Joseph. Indeed, God’s wisdom entrusted the Holy Family to the quiet man, and now, at Fatima, he is revealed to us, to bless us in this time prefigured by the miracle of the sun.
At the miracle of the sun, the earth stood firm while the sun moved erratically. How can this be? And yet it happened. How can the Church, established by Christ become so erratic as it is today, under Pope Francis? How do we reconcile that the gates of hell will not prevail and the Holy Ghost will always guide her, with what we now see? St. Joseph solved a similar conundrum and he stands ready to help us now.
Matthew 1, 18-25 tells of Joseph’s dilemma and its resolution. His example of humility and steadfastness is precisely the example for us today. Faithful Catholics are torn today between the temptation to abandon the church, or to go along with the errors of the Neo-pagan agenda of Pope Francis.
What did Joseph do when faced with an unsolvable dilemma? He turned to God in prayer and stayed with it until God gave him light. He didn’t become his own God, or in today’s terms, his own pope. Neither did he accept the unthinkable option that somehow Mary had broken her vow, but that false mercy was required on his part to simply accept unfaithfulness. That would be the spiritual sloth of today’s catholics, who simply go along to get along, and welcome unrepentant vice into the church. “Who am I to judge?”
If the Lord God entrusted the Ark of the Covenant to the keeping of St. Joseph, can we not also turn in confidence to him, secure in the knowledge that he will teach us the humility and patience to stand firm in the faith until these erratic and uncertain times are over and the Blessed Virgin clears the smoke of Satan from the Church?
In the Bible, we see that in obedience to God, St. Joseph took the child Jesus and the Blessed Virgin to Egypt in order to save them from murderous Herod. Now, Egypt was a country similar in many ways to our modern post-Christian societies, very much in the control of the Lord of the World. And yet St. Joseph kept them safe. And now he stands ready to help faithful priests guard their flocks. He helps Catholic fathers protect their families.
In 2008, Cardinal Caffara related a correspondence he had with Sister Lucia of Fatima. In her letter she said that, “the final battle between the Lord and the reign of Satan will be about marriage and the family.”“Don’t be afraid”, she added, because “anyone who works for the sanctity of marriage and the family will always be fought and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue.” And then she concluded: “however, Our Lady has already crushed its head.”
Certainly, the Fatima vision of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus blessing us, in conjunction with Sister Lucia’s remarks to Cardinal Caffara, should give us consolation today. There is another bit of information on this subject. Solange Hertz, in her book, The Sixth Trumpet, tells us that Sister Lucia, when asked about the Third Secret confirmed that it is about Apocalypse Chapter 12. Mrs. Hertz posits that Apocalypse 12:14 may apply to us in these times.
“And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” In the mystical language of St. John in the Apocalypse, “the woman” refers to the Church, but also to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary is inseparably bound to the Church and St. Joseph is the Guardian of both. In Hertz’ view, the Holy Family’s sojourn in Egypt prefigures this passage, and indicates that St. Joseph is given to us in these dire times to strengthen and defend us, and to bring us safely home again.
Whatever outrage occurs at October’s Pan-Amazon Synod, we know that the Immaculate Virgin Mary has already crushed satan’s head, and in the end, her Immaculate Heart will triumph. Our job is to stand firm in the faith, and St. Joseph is our sure unfailing defender. He never has — and never will — ask us for a special day of honor for him, or a special title. He simply called us, and stands ready to help us, live our consecrations to the Immaculata and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. If we devote ourselves to the Sacred Hearts, Saint Joseph will guard and defend us and our families even as he kept the Holy Family safe so long ago.
Here is my favorite prayer of Consecration to Saint Joseph:
O my beloved Saint Joseph, adopt me as thy child, take care of my salvation, watch over me day and night, preserve me from the occasion of sin, obtain for me purity of soul and body! Through thy intercession with Jesus, rant me a spirit of sacrifice, of humility, and of self-denial, a burning love for Jesus in the most Blessed Sacrament and a sweet tender love for Mary, my Mother. St. Joseph, be with me living, be with me dying and obtain for me a favorable judgement from Jesus, my merciful Saviour. Amen.
St. Joseph defender of the family, defender of the faith, we entrust our families and our faith to thee!

This is our follow-up post to “The Vision of Hell”, which we posted on July 13, 2019.
Previously, we discussed that the Message of Our Lady at Fatima on her third visit, July 13, 1917 was a watershed moment. The previous apparitions, including the Angel’s visits, prepared for this one and this apparition is essential for understanding the subsequent ones. For it was on this day, as Lúcia relates, that ‘Our Lady deigned to reveal to us the Secret’. (“The Whole Secret of Fatima, Vol. 1, available free from www.archive.org.) The following are excerpts with commentary from that volume.
“…The message of July 13 appears to us very clearly divided into two parts:
First, there are the words which were divulged immediately,
Second, the long text of the secret which the seers carefully kept hidden.
However, what is important is that the two parts of the message are very closely connected.”
In today’s post we will look at the text, or meaning, behind the bare words themselves.
From Frère Michel de la Trinité:
The obsessive fear for the salvation of souls, which is the other key of the secret, with its terrible first part, the gripping vision of hell, was clearly manifested at the very moment of the apparition, inscribed on the faces of the seers. All the witnesses in fact noticed the great sorrow which suddenly overwhelmed them. Those who were very near were very much moved by the sudden cry which fell from the lips of Lúcia. ‘At this moment’, says Ti Marto, ‘Lúcia took a deep breath, went as pale as death, and we heard her cry out in terror to Our Lady, calling Her by name.’
Is it not this same fright, distorting their faces, which is still visible on the photograph of the three seers taken by Mario Godinho, a few minutes after the apparition?
It was also on July 13 that Our Lady revealed the only two prayers She taught the children, the one just before the secret, to invite them to sacrifice, and the other right after, to complete each decade of the Rosary, popularly called the “Fatima Decade Prayer.” These are two very brief formulas, which show once again the humility and also the great pedagogy of the Virgin Mary. They are almost ejaculatory prayers which can easily come unceasingly to our lips. They are two precious pearls which, in a few words, synthesize the essence of Her message…
AN URGENT SUPPLICATION FOR THE SALVATION OF SOULS.
Right after the end of the secret, Our Lady continued:
‘When you say the Rosary, say after each mystery:
‘O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fire of hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need.’
O MY JESUS
The two prayers taught by Our Lady are addressed to Her Son, to Jesus Christ our Savior. This alone suffices to destroy the calumnies of the reformists opposed to Fatima under the fallacious pretext that Her message is not Christocentric enough! What an error! At Fatima, Our Lady willed to add to the Rosary, the great prayer in Her honour this short invocation addressed to Jesus the Savior. Inserted between the Gloria Patri to the Holy Trinity, the Our Fathers and the Aves, which supplicate God our Father and our Blessed Mother in Heaven, this little prayer enlarges the divine horizon of our Rosary.
The thought of our sin, this sin so profoundly rooted in us and which threatens to cause our ruin, is present everywhere in the message of Fatima. There is not one of the nine apparitions of the Angel and the most Blessed Virgin which does not make some allusion to sin. Each of the four prayers taught to us, brief as they are, all make some mention of it. This prayer, which is no exception, echoes the litany of Paters and Aves: Forgive us our trespasses (from the Our Father), and pray for us sinners (from the Hail Mary).
DELIVER US FROM THE FIRE OF HELL!
This supplication, the most urgent, refers of course to the vision of hell. The concrete evocation of its terrifying fire was willed expressly to call to mind the description of hell sketched by Lúcia. Yes, it is willed by Our Lady, who is the sovereign teacher, that this word hell always remind us of this devouring fire, which most exactly expresses its terrible reality. [Editor’s note: this was also a warning against the heretical notion that Hell is empty that is so prevalent today.]
‘Livrai nos do fogo do inferno!’ The expression is strong and vigorous, and deliberately so. Not only ‘preserve us’, but more exactly, ‘deliver us’! It makes explicit the last request of the Our Father, with the same verb, but ‘deliver us from evil’. This is to say that hell is not for us an imaginary and far off danger, from which we can escape by ourselves.
No, it is the just and certain culmination of rebellions against God and hardening of the heart, where we would go without the pardon of Jesus, our Savior, and without the help of His grace full of mercy. Without Him, without His Passion and His redeeming Blood we are already lost. We owe our salvation to Him alone, and He desires that we ask Him: ‘O my Jesus, deliver us from the fire of hell!’
The prayer of Fatima is very close to what the liturgy says: ‘From eternal death, deliver us, O Jesus!’ implore the litanies. And the prayer of the Roman Canon, stating clearly the intention of the Eucharistic Sacrifice, says: ‘Deliver us from eternal damnation (ab aeterna damnatione nos eripi), and number us in the flock of Thine elect.’ The same vigorous expression is found in the Litany of the Saints, and this time it makes quite clear who is meant by the ‘us’: it is we ourselves and all our dear ones who have the faith, and we implore pardon for ourselves: ‘That You would deliver our souls and the souls of our brethren, relations and benefactors, from eternal damnation, we beseech You, hear us! Ut animas nostras . . . ab aeterna damnatione eripias, te rogamus audi nos!’
It is an urgent supplication, but it is also full of an immense trust. For in hope we are already sure of obtaining the forgiveness of Our Savior, and eventually reaching the happiness of Heaven… Thus, our horizons are enlarged, leading us to the second part of the prayer:
LEAD ALL SOULS TO HEAVEN
Our ardent desire to be saved, ourselves and our dear ones, is necessarily extended to all souls. Christ offered His life for all men, without exception, and God His Father wishes to save all men; so why shouldn’t all souls go to Heaven? The little prayer becomes… a universal prayer. It is mystical, and it expresses a true and ardent charity. ‘Lord’, Father de Foucauld loved to repeat, ‘if it could be possible, make all men go to Heaven!’ [Ed: Indeed, that is true, Christ our Savior made salvation possible for all, but few there are who choose it. However, we are called by charity to pray for all poor sinners, for we may not judge; that is for Christ alone to do. For those of you who rebel at this, please read on.]
‘All souls’, ‘as almas todas’, or in the version most often quoted by Sister Lúcia, ‘as alminhas todas’, with this diminutive of commiseration, ‘all these poor souls’, just as we would say, ‘poor sinners’. ‘Levai para o Ceu!’ ‘Lead them to Heaven!’ The word can hardly be translated: take them, carry them, lift them right up to Heaven! And perhaps even better, as Father Simonin and Dom Jean-Nesmy translate: ‘Draw all souls to Heaven.’ It reminds us of the words of Jesus on the evening of Palm Sunday, just before entering into the work of His redemptive Sacrifice: ‘Now is the prince of this world cast out; and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.’ He said this to show by what death He was going to die. ‘Omnia traham ad me ipsum.’
ESPECIALLY THOSE MOST IN NEED
These last words bewildered Canon Formigao. Indeed they are surprising: How can we ask Jesus to lead all souls to Heaven, and thus all without exception, and then immediately add a formula which on the contrary is partial and restrictive? The words, ‘all… especially’ seem to defy simple logic.
And yet the formula is surely authentic, and the difficulty disappears when we consider that it concerns the salvation of souls, which is always a pure and infinite mercy of God. The logic here is one of love, full of implications which cause the too narrow framework of the exact relation of the concepts to explode. The suppliant soul, in the zeal of its love, would like to obtain from the Divine Mercy the salvation of all souls… but it knows that its request cannot be heard in all its extension… it does not merit it. In this case, it immediately clarifies its request, and says to God: ‘I ask You to have mercy at least on some souls, and most especially, as a priority, on the souls of the greatest sinners, who most surely risk being lost!’ Such is the logic of the saints…
Ed. Note: A different perspective suggests itself to me: The “souls most in need” are not necessarily the greatest sinners! Instead, consider if they may be those who are most in danger of falling from the faith by the severe trials of these times. The risk is so great today for all who labor to awaken their brethren to the danger, to strengthen others in the faith, for Satan ignores the sinners in order to pursue with the greatest vigor those who are most effective in saving souls.
Who might these be? Why consecrated souls, of course! Satan hates priests! Satan hates all consecrated virgins! Satan hates all who consecrate themselves to Jesus through Mary! That is precisely why we must pray especially for our priests, who are under such attacks. These are his primary targets, but another huge focus of his is those at the hour of death. The Church, in her wisdom has always known this and that is the reason for the last verse of the Hail Mary:
“Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.”
Readers, I do not believe that my interpretation, above, contradicts the remainder of Frère Michel’s writing on this, or St. Jacinta’s words quoted below.
This is how the three seers understood this prayer, in the light of its immediate context, the vision of hell. A striking passage from the Memoirs shows us how the little prayer of Our Lady often returned to the lips of Blessed Jacinta, and not only between decades of the Rosary, but to implore often the salvation of souls:
“Jacinta often sat thoughtfully on the ground or on a rock, and exclaimed: ‘Oh, Hell! Hell! How sorry I am for the souls who go to hell! And the people down there, burning alive, like wood in the fire!’ Then, shuddering, she knelt down with her hands joined, and recited the prayer Our Lady had taught us: ‘O my Jesus! Pardon us, save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need.’ “
‘Now’, Sister Lúcia continues, ‘Your Excellency will understand how my own impression was that the final words of this prayer refer to souls in greatest danger of damnation, or those who are nearest to it.’
These last words turn our attention towards those in their last agony. In all the myriads of Ave Marias we shall have prayed all during our life, we ask the Mother of Mercy to pray for us ‘at the hour of our death’. But all these hardened souls who outraged Her unceasingly and never invoked Her? It is for them, in their place that Our Lady has us pray during our Rosary. [* Please see note below on this point.]
This priority accorded the greatest sinners, was not understood, and was the principal reason why the original version of the prayer was abandoned for so long in favor of another, more classical one. Yet this prayer brings us to the full reality of the Gospel. It is the priority given to the erring sheep for the twofold reason that it is lost, and that its salvation will show more strikingly the untiring Love of its Good Shepherd! It was St. Therese of the Child Jesus who, ‘devoured by a thirst for souls, burned with the desire to snatch from the eternal flames the souls of the greatest sinners’. Hence her decision ‘to prevent at any price from going to hell’ the horrible criminal whose three murders had monopolized the news. On him also, ‘this poor unfortunate Pranzini’, did she wish to pour out the salvific and ‘divine dew’ of the Blood of Jesus.
We will see that this concern for the salvation of the greatest sinners is a frequent theme in later revelations granted to Sister Lúcia. It was equally the constant thought of Jacinta:
“Jacinta remained on her knees like this for long periods of time, saying the same prayers over and over again. From time to time, like someone awaking from sleep, she called out to her brother or myself: ‘Francisco! Francisco! Are you praying with me? We must pray very much, to save souls from hell! So many go there! So many!’ “
THE LITTLE PRAYER OF REPARATORY OFFERING
Sister Lúcia humbly confesses in her second Memoir: ‘During this month (June 13 – July 13), I lost all enthusiasm for making sacrifices and acts of mortification… To reawaken my fervor which had grown cold, Our Lady told us: ‘Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say often to Jesus, especially each time you make a sacrifice: ‘O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’
Here is a very simple prayer, whose significance is immediately grasped. Again it is to Jesus our Savior that our offering is addressed, but in addition to the desire to please Him through love, in accomplishing the action we offer Him, two other intentions are added. And the whole richness of this prayer consists precisely in their indissoluble bond of reciprocal implication, which causes each of these intentions to remind us of the other two. Note how the thought of the salvation of sinners is found inserted there like a wedge between the two acts of love for Jesus and Mary. This shows to what extent the missionary intention is at the very heart of the message of Fatima, as necessarily flowing from the true love of the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Editor Note: The Fatima Decade Prayer prays for especially those most in need (of Thy mercy). Please consider the relevance toward praying for this tragic Pope and his wayward prelates. We must pray for them and expect miracles from the infinite mercy of God, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Prayers are never wasted – and even prayers that may seem futile often bring rgeat blessings for those who have hoped in God.
The two Fatima Prayers recommended by Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima urge us to reparation for sins and pray for the conversion of sinners, and I cannot stress enough the importance of this at this particular time. Our Lady of Fatima has promised that there is nothing, nothing at all, which we cannot accomplish by means of her Rosary.
Thank you so much for reading. Please, pray the Rosary, and the Fatima Decade Prayer!
† Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff. † Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey! † Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. † St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests. † St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Please pray for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!
~ by evensong for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!
O Mary Immaculate, Beauty of Carmel, you offer us your scapular, the very garment of your grace. By it, grant us graces to be your true children and grow in humility, obedience, holiness and purity.
Today, 16 July, we honor Our Blessed Mother under her title, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It is a title particularly pleasing to her, as she appeared at Fatima on 13 October, 1917 wearing the Carmelite habit and holding the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel as if offering it to mankind. To her children, Mary’s suggestions are her commands and we would have expected that this apparition alone caused all devout Catholics worldwide to subsequently become enrolled in the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. There should have been a vast movement of priests preaching this devotion, with Pope and Bishops leading the way. However, we all know that nothing of the sort happened.
And yet the Scapular is an important sign of predestination. Our Lady revealed her desire that her children wear the scapular on this day in 1251 when she gave the first scapular to Saint Simon Stock. Her words to him:
“Accept this Scapular. It shall be a sign of salvation, a protection in danger and a pledge of peace. Whosoever dies clothed in this Scapular shall not suffer eternal fire.”
She again appeared to Saint Bernadette at Lourdes, robed in the Carmelite habit to emphasise the importance of wearing the scapular on the same date, July 16, in 1858. And of course, at her last visit to Fatima, October 13, 1917, she also wore the Carmelite habit and held out the brown Scapular. Thus, she has clearly expressed to us her preference for this especial devotion.
In his wonderful book, Divine Intimacy, Father Gabriel tells us, “The Blessed Virgin is a Mother who clothes us with grace and takes our supernatural life under her protection, in order to bring it to its full flowering in eternal life….The Scapular, the little habit, that Our Lady of Mount Carmel offers us, is only the external symbol of her unceasing, maternal care: the symbol, but also the sign, the pledge of eternal salvation. ‘My beloved son’, Mary said to St. Simon Stock, ‘Take this scapular…whoever dies clothed in it will not suffer eternal fire’. The Blessed Virgin gives the assurance of the supreme grace of final perseverance to all who wear worthily her little habit.”(Divine Intimacy, p. 1146, published by TAN Books.)
In Isaiah 32, verses 16-18, we read, “And judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and justice shall sit in Carmel. And the work of justice shall be peace, and the service of justice quietness, and security for ever. And my people shall sit in the beauty of peace, and in the tabernacles of confidence, and in wealthy rest.” Now, by the “wealthy rest” is not meant the protestant gospel of prosperity, which makes a virtue of usurious materialism, but the spiritual wealth accruing from a firm commitment to the sanctification of our souls by following Christ in justice. Carmel signifies Garden and Mary’s Immaculate Heart is truly a Garden of virtues to which she welcomes her children, those who wear her habit, even the little habit of her Brown Scapular.
It was such a delight to discover that Carmel means garden in Hebrew, because I have always pictured interiorly the Annunciation as occurring in Mary’s garden in Nazareth. In my heart, I visit her there each day to begin my Rosary with her First Joyful Mystery. Of course, the Mysteries of the Rosary being so interlinked with significance, that first mystery always leads one to Our Lord’s Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, which is the First Sorrowful Mystery. And thus Mary’s sweet, obedient, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord” is irrevocably linked to Our Lord’s obedience in, “Yet not My will, but Thine be done, Father.” And then of course, we note the Resurrection of Our Lord and His meeting with Magdalene, also in the Garden!
It is true that our humble obedience will inevitably lead us, especially in these days of the Passion of the Mystical Body of Christ, to our own Gethsemane, our own, “Not my will, but Thine be done, Father.” The scapular will, if worn in the right spirit, enable us to silence the tumult of the world, the flesh and the devil that stir us always to so much discontent and doubt. Wear Our Lady’s scapular and join her in her Garden and you will find rest for your soul and nourishment for the way of the cross we all must follow if we are to serve Our Lord in truth and in justice.
Prayer of St. Simon Stock
“O Mary, flower of Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, who brought forth the Son of God yet remained a Virgin, Sweet and Immaculate Mother, grant the favors that your children ask, O Star of the Sea”.
It is easy to make your own Brown Scapular. Once you get the hang of it, you can then make them for others. The website, Scapular of Mount Carmel is a good site for inexpensive supplies and also information regarding the correct size and other specified requirements for the scapulars. I can vouch for the quality of their supplies; the woven brown wool is soft and very durable and the brown cord ribbon doesn’t roll up like that used on the scapulars sold elsewhere. They also have the ritual for enrolling in the Scapular of Mount Carmel that you can print out for your priest to use, if he is unfamiliar.
If you should desire to spread this wonderful devotion, may I suggest a great help is The Fatima Center’s beautiful booklet, “Our Lady’s Garment, The Brown Scapular: a Sign of Salvation and Protection.
Many saints have recommended the devotion of wearing Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Brown Scapular and I cannot hope to improve on their words. My own testimony is simply that the practice of wearing Our Lady’s Scapular, her little habit, has gradually brought me to the realization that she is truly my Mother. I am flooded with gratitude even as I write these words, “my Mother!” As you wear her scapular, you are participating in a seemingly passive devotion, wearing her scapular, such a simple thing. Or is it? Try it for a while and you will find out what it means to be a child of the very Mother of Our Savior Himself.
With His dying words, Our Lord gave us His Mother and commanded her to be our Mother. The awesome responsibility and the incomprehensible graces attached to this will dawn on you as you wear her little habit and visit with her in her Rosary Garden daily.
May all who read this avail themselves of this modest devotion. Wear her Scapular, pray her Rosary and you will have a joyful part in the triumph of her Immaculate Heart!
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us now and at the hour of our death!
Immaculate heart of Mary, Queen of the most Holy Rosary, flower of Carmel, be Queen of our hearts!
~ by evensong for love of the Immaculata, Beautiful Flower of Carmel.
Today, we provide the text of the well-known, (but not as well-understood) interview which Sister Lúcia granted to Father Augustin Fuentes the day after Christmas, 1957. Our source is Volume III of Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité’s The Whole Truth About Fatima. My comments in red follow the quotes from Frère Michel.
Sister Lúcia’s 1957 interview with Father Augustin Fuentes
Father Augustin Fuentes was a Mexican priest, the vice-postulator of the causes for beatification of Francisco and Jacinta, and simultaneously postulator for the causes of the Mexican martyrs under the Masonic persecution of Elias Calles (1924-1928). In effect, he had the privilege of speaking at length with the Fatima seer on December 26, 1957. He had already met Sister Lúcia on August 10, 1955. After his return to Mexico, on May 22, 1958, he gave a conference to the mother-house of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Guadalupe. During this conference he reported Sister Lúcia’s words. The account of this conference was published, Father Alonso stresses, ‘with every guarantee of authenticity and with due episcopal approval, including that of the Bishop of Leiria.’ Father Fuentes made it clear that this was a message received ‘from the very lips of the principal seer.’ Here are the excerpts of the original Spanish text quoted by Father Alonso: [Note: Fr. Alonso was the official Archivist of Fatima.]
Father Fuentes’ introduction: “I wish only to tell you about the last conversation which I had with Sister Lúcia on the 26th of December last year. I met her in her convent. She was very sad, very pale and emaciated. She said to me:
“Father, the Most Holy Virgin is very sad because no one has paid any attention to Her message, neither the good nor the bad. The good continue on their way but without giving any importance to Her Message. The bad, not seeing the punishment of God actually falling upon them, continue their life of sin without even caring about the message. But believe me, Father, God will chastise the world and this will be in a terrible manner. The punishment from Heaven is imminent.
Father, how much time is there before 1960 arrives? It will be very sad for everyone, not one person will rejoice at all if beforehand the world does not pray and do penance. I am not able to give any other details because it is still a secret. According to the will of the Most Holy Virgin, only the Holy Father and the Bishop of Fatima are permitted to know the secret, but they have chosen to not know it so that they would not be influenced. This is the third part of the Message of Our Lady which will remain secret until 1960. [The “punishment from Heaven” so “sad for everyone” was the refusal by Pope John XXIII to obey Our Lady of Fatima’s clearly stated wishes to reveal her secret in 1960. This refusal to obey God set in motion the tragic chain of events which has resulted in the auto demolition of the faith.]
“Tell them Father, that many times, the Most Holy Virgin told my cousins Francisco and Jacinta, as well as myself, that many nations will disappear from the face of the earth. She said that Russia will be the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the whole world if we do not beforehand obtain the conversion of that poor nation… [This refers to both the second portion, that is, the material chastisement and the third portion, the spiritual chastisement. Thus, the spiritual devastation of nations along with the actual material disappearance of entire nations.]
Father, the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Blessed Virgin. And the devil knows what it is that most offends God and which in a short space of time will gain for him the greatest number of souls. Thus the devil does everything to overcome souls consecrated to God, because in this way the devil will succeed in leaving the souls of the faithful abandoned by their leaders, thereby the more easily will he seize them.
That which afflicts the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus is the fall of religious and priestly souls. The devil knows that religious and priests who fall away from their beautiful vocation drag numerous souls to hell… The devil wishes to take possession of consecrated souls. He tries to corrupt them in order to lull to sleep the souls of laypeople and thereby lead them to final impenitence. He employs all tricks, even going so far as to suggest the delay of entrance into religious life. Resulting from this is the sterility of the interior life, and among the laypeople, coldness (lack of enthusiasm) regarding the subject of renouncing pleasures and the total dedication of themselves to God.
Tell them also Father, that my cousins Francisco and Jacinta sacrificed themselves because in all the apparitions of the Most Holy Virgin, they always saw Her very sad. She never smiled at us. This sadness, this anguish which we noted in Her penetrated our souls. This sadness is caused by the offenses against God and the punishments which menace sinners. And so, we children did not know what to think except to invent various means of praying and making sacrifices. (…) The other thing which sanctified these children was to see the vision of hell. [The vision of Hell, and the Devotion to the Immaculate heart to save them, is the first portion of the secret.]
Father, that is why my mission is not to indicate to the world the material punishments which are certain to come if the world does not pray and do penance beforehand. No! My mission is to indicate to everyone the imminent danger we are in of losing our souls for all eternity if we remain obstinate in sin.[She here points to the spiritual chastisement. We must maintain our focus on our eternal souls. Yes, the material chastisement is proceeding apace, because the requirements of the second portion of Our Lady’s Secret were never fulfilled, as we have stated often in these pages. But even more serious dangers face us in the eternal damnation of millions of souls, entire nations of souls damned forever due to false mercy and the utter prostitution of the true Faith.]
Father, we should not wait for an appeal to the world to come from Rome on the part of the Holy Father, to do penance. Nor should we wait for the call to penance to come from our bishops in our diocese, nor from the religious congregations. No! Our Lord has already very often used these means and the world has not paid attention. That is why now, it is necessary for each one of us to begin to reform himself spiritually. Each person must not only save his own soul but also all the souls that God has placed on our path…
The devil does all in his power to distract us and to take away from us the love for prayer; we shall be saved together or we shall be damned together.
Father, the Most Holy Virgin did not tell me that we are in the last times of the world but She made me understand this for three reasons.
The first reason is because She told me that the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Virgin. And a decisive battle is the final battle where one side will be victorious and the other side will suffer defeat. Hence from now on we must choose sides. Either we are for God or we are for the devil. There is no other possibility.
The second reason is because She said to my cousins as well as to myself that God is giving two last remedies to the world. These are the Holy Rosary and Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These are the last two remedies which signify that there will be no others.
The third reason is because, in the plans of Divine Providence, God always, before He is about to chastise the world, exhausts all other remedies. Now, when He sees that the world pays no attention whatsoever, then, as we say in our imperfect manner of speaking, He offers us with a certain trepidation the last means of salvation, His Most Holy Mother. It is with a certain trepidation because if you despise and repulse this ultimate means we will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven because we will have committed a sin which the Gospel calls the sin against the Holy Spirit. This sin consists of openly rejecting, with full knowledge and consent, the salvation which He offers. Let us remember that Jesus Christ is a very good Son and that He does not permit that we offend and despise His Most Holy Mother. We have recorded through many centuries of Church history the obvious testimony which demonstrates, by the terrible chastisements which have befallen those who have attacked the honour of His Most Holy Mother, how Our Lord Jesus Christ has always defended the honour of His Mother. [Please note this especially! And consider the evil blasphemy against the Virgin of Fatima by Pope Francis. Remarks which have not so far been corrected by any other prelate.]
Look, Father, the Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or, above all, spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world, or of the religious communities, or even of the life of peoples and nations that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary, we will save ourselves. We will sanctify ourselves. We will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls.
Finally, devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Most Holy Mother, consists in considering Her as the seat of mercy, of goodness and of pardon, and as the certain door by which we are to enter Heaven.
Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité: “In December of 1957, even before the death of Pius XII, Our Lady’s messenger already foresaw the grave crisis the Church would have to face. ”
† † †
The faith of many has grown cold. And many are the imposters, who seek to capitalize on the message of Fatima for their own aggrandizement. They see others “getting away with it” and think, “Why not? Who’s to stop me?” And as always with those duped by the Father of Lies, they are partially right. Yet we know that even though there may be no one to stop them in this life, there will be, quite literally, hell to pay in the next life. We must pray for them.
Readers, please keep in mind through all that is soon to come, there is yet a fourth portion to Our Lady of the Rosary’s Great Secret and we must keep it foremost in our thoughts so as not to be disheartened in the darkness and confusion. This essential fourth part is of course, her magnificent triumph. Our Lord will show His true mercy for all to see: the triumphant renewal of the Faith through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King will be ushered in by devotion to the Immaculata. And we are her children! Apostles of her Immaculate Heart! And so, we hold fast to her through the means she has graciously given to us, her Rosary and her brown Scapular of Mount Carmel, that our faith may not fail.
† Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
For love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we offer this essay of Solange Hertz, from her book (highly recommended!), “The Thought of Their Heart, on Devotion to the Sacred Heart and the Holy Rosary”.
The Open Heart
by Solange Strong Hertz
The history of devotion to the Sacred Heart is in a very real sense a gradual revelation of the secret life of the Church. Its prologue, written in the heart of St. John as he reclined against the Lord’s breast at the Last Supper, broadcasts its first rhythms to the world, setting the tempo for the dramatic rending on Calvary. Veneration for the wound inflicted there seems to have been the initial form of the cult among the faithful. From this wound, the “door in the ark,” there gradually issued the proliferation of grace we now know as Sacred Heart devotion, ramifying and increasing through time, space and circumstance to fit all the needs and conditions of worshippers truly seeking intimacy with their Lord.
It elicited tears of repentance, prompted praise, encouraged confident petition and proffered earth’s reparation to heaven for its sins against Love. For centuries the movement developed quietly in the privacy of religious houses and the souls of gifted individuals until it permeated the whole Church in ranks both clerical and lay. In addition to the saints already mentioned, among its devotees must be numbered St. Anselm, St. Frances of Rome, St. Lawrence Justinian, St. Bernardine of Siena, St. Joan of Valois, St. Peter of Alcantara, St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen, St. Antoninus, St. Peter Canisius, St. Francis de Sales— to list but a few of those canonized. Others who spread its benefits are legion. Carthusians, Franciscans, Benedictines, Dominicans, each produced its particular “school” of spirituality based on affection for the wounded Heart of the Savior. The wealth of art, literature, and liturgy both canonical and popular which has come down to us on the subject attests to its vigor and sanctifying power.
Not surprisingly, it was St. John Eudes, the apostle of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who was instrumental in directing modern piety towards the Heart of her Son. Called by Pope St. Pius X “initiator, teacher and apostle of the liturgical cult of the Sacred Heart,” he had begun by drawing heavily on the writings of the old Cologne Carthusians so as to establish the cult on solid theological ground. By 1672 he had succeeded in obtaining ecclesiastical approval for a Mass of the Sacred Heart to be celebrated in the communities of his own Order, the Congregation of Jesus and Mary.
The very next year, on the feast of St. John the Apostle, December 27, 1673, the torrents of private revelations converged explosively in the Visitation convent at Paray-le-Monial in France. It was there that our Lord, appearing to the humble young nun, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, chose to set the seal of divine approval on what had until then been a most salutary practice in the Church, but which nevertheless remained a private affair— a kind of “inside track” for fleeter spirits. Our Lord had once told St. Gertrude:
“Whenever you desire to obtain anything from Me, offer Me My Heart, which I have so often given you as a token of our mutual friendship, in union with the love which made Me become man for the salvation of men; and I give you this special mark of friendship, … “
After four great apparitions in Paray from 1673 to 1675, … devotion to the Sacred Heart was soon to be enjoined upon all. If we are to believe the words of St. John the Apostle and the ancient prophets concerning the Heart of God, we who are living three hundred years later must be about to witness nothing less than the last moments of the world. “In the latter days you shall understand these things,” promised Jeremiah. “The THOUGHTS of HIS HEART to all generations: to deliver their souls from death and feed them in famine” (Introit, Mass of the Sacred Heart).
“The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy on you.”
Today, we consider Francisco and Jacinta, the two youngest saints of Fatima. As we discussed in our earlier post, “The Promise”,
Francisco saw the Blessed Virgin perfectly, but did not hear Her words. He only understood the questions of Lúcia. As for Jacinta, who saw and heard everything, she never brought herself to speak to the apparition. Thus Lúcia was the only one to have the privilege of speaking with Her.” … “Young and quite small, the Queen of Heaven also came very close to (the) three children. For a pedestal She had chosen a little holm oak, about a metre high. ‘We were so close’, writes Lúcia , ‘that we found ourselves in the light surrounding Her, or rather emanating from Her, about a metre and a half away, more or less.’ (from Sister Lúcia’s Fourth Memoir)
In 1916, St. Michael the Archangel, the Angel of Fatima had told the children, “The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy on you”, but it was not until Our Lady began to appear that they perceived the true meaning of “designs of mercy”. By the time of Our Lady’s third visit, July 13, 1917, it was becoming clearer, and by then, Francisco could say emphatically, “What I want is to go to Heaven!” This eagerness for Heaven recalls St. Bernadette of Lourdes, who said of Our Lady, “She was so beautiful that after seeing Her once one would be willing to die to see Her again!”
“You are going to suffer a great deal, but the grace of God will be your comfort.”
Our Lady’s words to Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta echo down the long years of this tragic century. Although Francisco and Jacinta saw a quick end to their trials, Lúcia’s suffering was protracted and seems especially poignant to us today. For Lúcia was to experience disobedience to the message of Our Lady and the tragic betrayal of the Church by Popes and Bishops, the sly derision of theologians, the crass opportunism of some of the laity and the bovine indifference of most of the rest. Thus, she accompanied Our Lord and His Blessed Mother in their suffering.
Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta were declared saints by the Immaculate Mother of God from the very start of the Fatima message. They have no need of a “Holy Father” of this sort who offers no more relevance for them than Caiphas and Herod had for our dear Savior. Lúcia still has much to teach us as we prepare to face the consequences of the Church’s betrayal of Our Lady of the Rosary.
May 13, 1917, the day the world changed and no one noticed … An offer made, an offer ignored … such a small thing … as they say, “the devil’s in the details” …
The most useful message we can offer during this reign of the enemies of Christ is to return to the true message of Fatima. Now, when the Church is being assaulted by those within its highest ranks, even the vulgar man occupying the See of Peter, it seems that those who are faithful to tradition and devoted to Our Lady of Fatima are less in unity than ever before.
Today, we have a leadership void and the temptation arises for various persons to “step into the breach” as it were and set themselves up as leader. As you look around the web, everyone, it seems has become an instant expert, opining on canon law, Thomistic theology and deep questions about the practice of the faith. It can be confusing, even overwhelming to those of us simply trying to hold fast to the faith against such odds. My goal is only to call readers to return to the message of Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima, from the Angel’s message on through the six appearances of Our Lady to the shepherd children and on through the locutions Sister Lùcia received and to help my readers practice the devotions requested by Our Lady of Fatima.
Right now, there is a “fog of war”, or perhaps, a “diabolical disorientation” which makes us uncertain and dispirited. As I talk with readers from various countries, I have yet to hear anyone report that they are energized by this crisis. All of us are severely challenged right now. How to proceed? Return to the simple things, for that is why Our Mother gave us her Rosary. She stole my heart when she asked Sister Lùcia for us to simply spend some time with her. Imagine! The great Mother of Our Saviour asking for a bit of our time! We are so blessed!
The rule in all this is always the rule of love. motivated by devotion to the glory of God, the honor of the Immaculata and the salvation of souls. If you do not discern those qualities in a writer, it is best to look elsewhere. Today, more than ever satan deceives so many by vain curiosity, and by promoting devotions which detract from the true devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Included in those essential devotions is devotion to Our Lady’s Miraculous Medal, which honors her Immaculate Conception and is a most potent sacramental.
The first resource and clearest summary is the three volumes by Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité, The Whole Truth About Fatima, (Vol 1, Vol 2, Vol 3) which are still available online through archive.org. That site is rapidly removing true Catholic classics.
Often today there is criticism of those who emphasise “prayer and reparation” over the need for action. There should be a balance between them. To rush into action before obtaining a sound foundation in spiritual practice is to be defeated before starting. The true Message of Fatima is a call to the faithful to return to obedience and reparation. This obedience is required of each of us personally, and it requires humility, which is perhaps the most unpopular virtue today, even more disliked than purity.
Sin entered into the world through pride and disobedience. The Blessed Virgin Mary crushes the head of satan by her humble obedience to God’s will. In these latter days our loving Father sends her, His most precious creature, to offer devotion to her Immaculate Heart as our secure path back to Him. It is from Mary, from her purity, humility and obedience, that we learn how best to understand what God wills for us in these confusing times.
Once we have that strong foundation under us, then we are able to discern the appropriate actions to take. But it can only lead to disaster if we jump into hastily taken actions without being spiritually prepared, for this is a spiritual combat first of all. It is pride that makes us want to seek out action before we have humbled ourselves by penance and mental prayer. . When we children of Mary are sufficient in numbers, we will have a leader, for Our Lady always provides for her own. Our first task is obedient devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in the way she requested, that is Rosary, First Saturdays, make of everything a reparation, and so on as we have often discussed. If we sacrifice and pray for her requests to be obeyed, we shall see her will, and we will obtain all that we pray for and more.
Much of today’s confusion comes from a severe lack of trust in the most Blessed Virgin. Like a drowning man who refuses the life preserver in order to flail uselessly until his strength is gone, many souls are in great danger because they cannot trust Mary — Mary who offers such simple things as the Rosary — for in this proud modern age we yearn to do “great things” for her. Paradoxically, the greatest things are often the smallest! And so, we kneel and pray, and trust her, and in that humility and obedience, especially that self-denial — yes, especially that! — there is much merit and we shall someday see how many souls are helped merely by spending a little time with her.
For the true way to conquer satan, look to this Immaculate Heart, think now, what makes it Immaculate? It is Immaculate because in that most pure heart, she never made any room at all for sin, she is eternally “full of grace”! Her Immaculate Heart alone among all creation has never had satan’s mark, sin. Therefore it alone has the fulness of grace and perfect obedience. Our Lord Himself gave her to us for our Mother as He was dying for love of us. She is our abiding evidence of His loving care for us. He is waiting until we learn to trust her to teach us, to lead us to Him. My task here is to remind that He is still waiting for us to discover the true message of Fatima, to examine the facts as they were revealed, that is, in the order which they were revealed.
To begin with the first:
The Angel of Peace
We show our obedience by heeding the requests of the Angel of Peace and Our Lady of the Rosary. From the beginning, the Angel’s instruction was:
Pray, pray a great deal! The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy for you! Offer unceasingly to the Most High prayers and sacrifices!”
Lucia then asked the Angel how they were to sacrifice themselves. “Offer up everything within your power as a sacrifice to the Lord in an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended; and of supplication for the conversion of sinners….Above all, accept and bear with submission the sufferings that the Lord may send you.”
So, in our action plan, the first steps are to, “Offer unceasingly to the Most High prayers and sacrifices”, and to “accept and bear with submission the sufferings that the Lord may send” us.
Readers, no other action you may choose to take will be of any avail without obeying this command. We cannot allow ourselves to get distracted by other devotions or the search for ever more knowledge. Although the ongoing trainwreck of this papacy is certainly fascinating we must maintain our focus on obedience to Our Lady’s requests. That, in itself is a very good sacrifice!
The Angel’s Message, Part II
The Angel appeared again in the Fall of the year 1916. We reviewed that visit in a previous post. The message this time was an extraordinary vision of the Most Blessed Sacrament with which the Angel demonstrated to the children the importance of offering adoration and reparation to the Most Holy Trinity.
The vision, and the actions and words of the Angel make a stunning affirmation of the foundational doctrines of our faith:
The Angel affirms the doctrine of the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
The Real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the most Blessed Sacrament,
The absolute requirement for reparation to God for sacrileges, outrages and indifference which offend God,
The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are united; that is, devotions to both Hearts is essential.
Lastly, the Angel affirms again that Jesus Christ is outraged by the ungratefulness of men towards His Precious, saving gift of His Body and Blood and we are called to make reparation for these crimes and console Him.
God willing, there will be two more summary installments; the next on Our Lady of the Rosary’s six visits between May 13 and October 13, 1917, to be followed by a summary of the apparitions to Sister Maria Lúcia. I hope they will provide a succinct, clear resource for you.
In closing, note please that the sequence is important. In short, the Angel’s visits set a context, warned of the problem: sacrilege, and prepared for Our Lady’s message. Note also that the reparative devotion of the First Saturdays is essential to obtaining the necessary grace for a humbled, contrite pope and bishops to consecrate Russia to the Immaculata as Our Lady requires.
Thank you for reading and for your prayers and encouragement. To those who have attempted to spread the message by sharing Return to Fatima with others, please do not feel disheartened. We must always give Our Good Lord thanks in all things!
God bless you all and Mary keep you close to her Immaculate Heart!
Pray the Rosary and confound satan and those who serve him!
† . Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
These days, a kind of Lavender Loyalty pervades the occupied Church and all is distorted in its sickly glow. In this confusion, Sandro Magister’s latest (here), brings some clarity to the true agenda for this so-called “Summit On Abuse”:
“Up until one month ago the twofold purpose of the summit that from February 21 to 24 will gather around the pope the leaders of the Catholic hierarchy worldwide was still “the protection of minors and of vulnerable adults,” as also written in the “letter to the people of God” released by Francis on August 20.
But then the “vulnerable adults” disappeared from the summit’s official agenda. And with them disappeared the question of the homosexual abuse of the young and very young, in spite of the fact that statistically they make up most of the victims of clerical abuse.
The fact is that not only the question of homosexuality among the clergy, but even the very word “homosexuality” has been banned from the otherwise abundant pile of information on the summit offered to the media of the whole world:
The removal of the question of homosexuality from the agenda of the summit is clearly the fruit of a decision by Pope Francis, who has never made a mystery of being absolutely convinced that this is not so much a matter of the abuse of sex but of power, not by individuals but a caste, the clerical caste.”
The Pope’s crude attempt to cover up the extensive homosexual corruption by pointing attention to “clericalism” is humiliating to see. What a mockery! Who today is able to see the King of Kings behind this poor beaten image of the Church, … deprived of protection, … weakened, baffled, and prostrate, lying bleeding at the feet of the powers of this world.” (Link)
While Pope Francis finally dealt with McCarrick (sort of) he gave ample support to his Lavender Lobby by promoting Kevin Farrell who despite living with McCarrick for six years has steadfastly asserted his utter cluelessness. This pope really does believe that we are all fools!
The farce of Gustavo Zanchetta is another case in which Bergoglio showed his disdain for the priesthood, for the faithful and for Our Lord Jesus Christ, Whose Vicar he purports to be. Even John Allen, has noticed the risks involved in Pope Bergoglio’s indulgent treatment of Zanchetta . (link)
“The case of Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta threatens to become a rare double “own goal” for the pontiff, creating self-inflicted wounds on two critically important reform fronts: the abuse crisis, and the Vatican’s pledge of greater financial transparency and accountability. The Zanchetta saga began in July 2013, when Francis nominated him the bishop of Orán in the northern part of Argentina. Three years later, Zanchetta left the diocese…”
Zanchetta, according to credible reports then used his new found episcopal power to take and send obscene “selfies”, and to sexually abuse seminarians, some of whom were minors as well as to cause financial difficulties for his diocese. When confronted, Zanchetta hastily vacated the premises in a most unusual manner. Soon, Zanchetta, who is deemed “a spiritual child of the Holy Father” , resurfaced under the direct protection of this same “Holy Father”. And now, this paragon of homosexual “fraternity” and fiscal responsibility stands before the world as yet another Bergoglian prelate appointed to a prominent position managing Vatican finances. Thus he joins another papal intimate, Msgr. Ricca. And by the way, Zanchetta also resides now in the papal domicile with Ricca and Bergoglio. A pleasant picture of domestic tranquility they make! This new Lavender family model is a veritable icon for the Bergoglio Reformation which aspires to eclipse the Holy Catholic Church.
Years ago, we offered the following comments on the agenda of Pope Jorge Bergoglio and those who placed him in power and control him:
We must return once again to the Message of Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima.
The prophecy that “The apostasy will begin at the top” is closely connected with the flood of impurity among consecrated souls foretold by Sister Lucia. They are both part of the chastisement visited on the Church as a result of the hierarchy’s lack of obedience to Our Lady of Fatima’s request. Throughout all ages in times of crisis, God has repeatedly called His chosen ones to repentance and prayer. Look around at the world in shambles – and the wretched “reform” led by Pope Francis and consider if it would not be better to devote more time to prayer, more effort to penance, especially the secret penance of simply choosing to serve Jesus and not ourselves each day!
it is not too late to heed the wisdom of Sister Lucia:
“Father, the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Blessed Virgin. And the devil knows what it is that most offends God and which in a short space of time will gain for him the greatest number of souls. Thus, the devil does everything to overcome souls consecrated to God, because in this way, the devil will succeed in leaving souls of the faithful abandoned by their leaders, thereby the more easily will he seize them.
“That which afflicts the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus is the fall of religious and priestly souls. The devil knows that religious and priests who fall away from their beautiful vocation drag innumerable souls to Hell … The devil wishes to take possession of consecrated souls. He tries to corrupt them in order to lull to sleep the souls of laypeople and thereby lead them to final impenitence.” (Sister Lucia of Fatima to Father Agustin Fuentes, December, 1957)
How does the devil seduce consecrated souls? In many, many cases, he does this by the perverted lusts of sodomy. At this point, the administrative structure of the Church has been so overrun by this foul vice that there are few indeed who have not become at a minimum, complicit in some way to this vast network of filth.
Far from being a chaste, “Alter Christus”, a priest who is actively engaged in the homosexual lifestyle is living in a state of hardened mortal sin. His soul, totally dead to the sanctifying grace necessary for union with Christ is withered and although he may pose as an “alter Christus”, he is in fact, a diabolical deceiver, in no way able to effectively guide souls who entrust their salvation to him.
It is indeed difficult for us to understand the long-standing tolerance for sodomy among priests, Bishops and Cardinals. The true rot at the very heart of the Church’s administrative structure is the toleration of this vice. Whether it is called the Lavender Fraternity/Lobby or St. Gallen Mafia or simply as “the Superforce” (Fr. Malachi Martin’s name for it), it is so deeply ingrained within the administrative structures of the Church that there is nothing short of the power of Almighty God which can dislodge it.
In the same interview we quoted above, Sister Lucia had stated that the Blessed Virgin Mary was very sorrowful because no one had heeded her message. She also stressed that at that particular time, that is, in 1957, “the punishment from heaven is imminent.”Well, that was back in 1957, wasn’t it? So, 62 years ago Sister Lucia stated that “the punishment from heaven is imminent”. It is now undeniably clear where this pope’s loyalty lies. This pope embodies within himself, in one foul package, the entire spiritual chastisement. His goal, he believes is near; it is the irrevocable eclipse of the true Church with the church of his own image and making. How long can this go on?
We cannot remove sin and error with yet more stubborn sin and error. We cannot remove sacrilege, outrage and indifference to Jesus Christ by our own attachment to worldliness. Our Church will be restored but it will only come through the perfect purity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who is, by the grace of Our Savior, our loving Mother. From His Cross, He gives us the Model for our Salvation, His obedient Sacred Heart and her Sorrowful, Immaculate Heart. They are our sacred shelter in this coming storm. Stubborn indifference to this providence will yield eternal suffering. Who will hear this?
Our Lady of Victory has assures us that, “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” And so this tremendous spiritual battle between satan and the Most Holy Virgin has begun.
“She cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array. Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin. Give me strength against thine enemies. Amen.”
(Prime, Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
