The Sixth Angel

“One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter. And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet:”

[13] … and I heard a voice from the four horns of the great altar, which is before the eyes of God, [14] Saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet: Loose the four angels, who are bound in the great river Euphrates. [15] And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men.

[16] And the number of the army of horsemen was twenty thousand times ten thousand. And I heard the number of them. [17] And thus I saw the horses in the vision: and they that sat on them, had breastplates of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone, and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions: and from their mouths proceeded fire, and smoke, and brimstone. [18] And by these three plagues was slain the third part of men, by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. [19] For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For, their tails are like to serpents, and have heads: and with them they hurt. [20] And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

[21] Neither did they penance from their murders, nor from their sorceries, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts. (Apocalypse Chapter 9, verses 13-21)

With the Sixth Angel’s Trumpet, we are introduced to the most severe chastisement so far. St. John himself seems to expect disbelief at the vastness of it, for when he announces that the army of horsemen numbers “20,000 times 10,000”, that is, 200,000,000, he quickly asserts, “And I heard the number of them”, thus confirming this number is from the Holy Ghost, and not his own conjecture.

Sculpture in Vatican Hall portraying the Conciliar/ Modernist Vision of their anti-Church.

The Great Altar is Christ our Savior,  and it is He who who commands the four fallen angels be released. That these angels are fallen is clear because they have been bound. That Jesus is allowing them to be free is evidence of His justice, which has been so long mocked with false mercy of hypocrites. The Great Altar emphasises Christ’s perfect sacrifice for us on Calvary and in the true Mass. This vision is directly related to the abuses of the Mass, such as stripping it of its sacrificial nature, and the abuses of the faith, carried out by the leaders of the Church, those who are most called to protect, promote and defend the Faith.

Note:   Although Fr. H.B. Kramer believed the Great Altar to refer to the religious orders, the passage of time has proved that this is not the case. The once-great orders have succumbed to the withering “Springtime” of Vatican II.  Therefore,  Fr. Berry’s understanding that the Great Altar refers to Our Savior and His Sacrifice of the Mass is the correct interpretation. Both Kramer and Berry believed the Fallen Star to have been Martin Luther; but now we see that Bergoglio’s Reformation within the Church far surpasses Luther’s, which initially occurred without the institutional Church.

Indeed, the Bergoglian Reformation actually began with the disobedient Popes such as John XXIII, Paul VI and by now has reached its apotheosis in  Pope  Francis who has superseded by far the heresies spawned by Luther, and brought heresy and apostasy into the very heights of the Church.

And so, at the behest of the Voice from the Great Altar, the four angels from beneath the Euphrates are loosed upon mankind. As we have remarked before, four is a number of universality, and indicates how extensive this woe will be. Father Sylvester Berry believes these four angels may be the same four angels of Chapter 7, “to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea” and who were commanded not to hurt the earth, the sea or the trees until the servants of God were signed on their foreheads. (Apoc. 7, 2-3). I will expand on this later, if able.

Fr. Berry remarks that the increasing severity of chastisements corresponds with the increase of iniquity. These accelerating woes portend the nearness of the coming of the Antichrist. This woe is announced for a very definite time, i.e., “an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year”, thus emphasising that the precise day and hour is determined by God alone. And the task? “For to kill the third part of men.”

False ecumenism and jihad

After the brutal islamic ritual murder of Father Jacques Hamel in France recently, the Catholic world waited in vain for any sign of protest from Pope Francis. This coldly calculated silence from the Bergoglian Vatican will only serve to welcome more such attacks on our priests and faithful. In order to understand what has brought us to this point, where islamists can murder our priests with impunity while our Most Humble and Merciful Pontiff® castigates Catholics, we offer a post from June, 2014 wherein John Vennari of Catholic Family News explains this phenomenon.

Francis and four points of Apostate Action
Islamic prayers to be held at the Vatican

False Ecumenism and Jihad

This Sunday, June 8, Pope Francis will allow for the first time in history Islamic prayers from the Quoran to be recited at the Vatican. The service is said to be in the cause of Peace in the Middle East (see report below). Members of Judaism will be part of the interfaith gathering as well. This radical initiative is scandalous on at least four counts:

1) The Prayers of Islam worship a false god; not the true God who is the Blessed Trinity; not the true God Jesus Christ, who said “No man comes to the Father but through Me.” Speaking on the modernist notion that various religions worship the same God, the eminent theologian Father Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange explained that such a tenet denies the principle of non-contradiction, which is the most fundamental principle of reason. Father Garrigou-Lagrange explains, “It is injurious to say that God would consider with equanimity all religions while one teaches truth and one teachers error, when one promises the good and one promises the evil. To say this would be to affirm that God would be indifferent to good and evil, to what is honest and shameful.”[1]

Who Killed Father Hamel?

This Tuesday past, an elderly priest, Father Jaques Hamel, was the first to usher in the age of islamic triumph that the current Pope has been inviting by his actions and rhetoric since the start of his pontificate. In this, he is perfectly in line with the example of his predecessor John Paul II whom he recently canonized. The elderly priest had his throat slit in ritual islamic fashion, while being forced to kneel before the altar where he was offering Mass.

They are at war, whether we are, or not.
They are at war, whether we are, or not.

Only the most obtuse would fail to see that islam is at war with the West and especially with the Catholic Church. Ever since Pope John Paul II kissed the Quran, the leaders of the Church have done all in their power to assure muslims that the Church will never even hint at the truth. Even after the brazen murder of an innocent Catholic priest during Mass, Pope Francis refuses to speak the truth (source) and thus fails to protect his flock.

This latest but most symbolic attack did not come about as an entirely unpredictable event. There have been several attacks, such as the Charlie Hebdo (Jan. 2015) and the Bataclan (Nov. 2015) and the Bastille Day massacre most recently. What has been the French response?

After the Charlie Hebdo attack, the French Ministry of defense launched the Sentinelle Organization. Its mandate: “to protect the French people and provide security in support of the Internal Security Forces at the most sensitive locations in Paris and in the provinces.” Sounds pretty good, right?

On the night of November 13, 2015, six armed members of this elite military group stood at the entrance of the Bataclan during the concert. Yet they took no action, even as the carnage continued. There was certainly much noise from the ongoing gunshots and screams of the victims. Yet these elite forces remained impassive, unresponsive at the entrance. (source and source).

Why?  Because their rules of engagement did not permit it. These men were trained and armed and they outnumbered the attackers, yet did not engage because their rules did not “allow” them to. … Fascinating, isn’t it?

And now, let’s look at last Tuesday’s ritual murder, that quintessentially islamic event. To slit the throat of a fragile, elderly priest in the midst of offering worship presents a powerful symbol of the strength and determination of their religion doesn’t it? You can easily see the logic in their actions, once you descend to their level.

Our Lady of Fatima and Islam

As soon as I am able, will have new posts, but for now, a repost because this topic is even more appropriate than when it was written a year ago.

Have you ever wondered why the Queen of Heaven chose the rural backwater of Fatima, Portugal to make her appearance in 1917? Does the name Fatima remind you of anything? Now that Islam is daily slaughtering Christians in the name of their false god, it may be wise to look into these things a bit further.

Our Lady of Victory, crush satan's head & lead us to victory! Our Lady of the Rosary, save our families, save the Church!
Our Lady of Victory, crush satan’s head & lead us to victory!
Our Lady of the Rosary, save our families, save the Church!

In 1952, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen published a book, “The World’s First Love, Mary, the Mother of God”. The book was a tour de force of devotion to Our Lady, especially Our Lady of Fatima. The Servant of God devoted the entire 17th Chapter of his book to, “Mary and the Moslems”, for so they were called then. This book is in the public domain as all Catholic spiritual writing should be, and is available for free from www.archive.org. That site offers the book in a variety of formats, including pdf, Kindle and iBook. I offer these excerpts from the 17th Chapter with my comments for your review to facilitate the discussion and awareness of Our Lady of Fatima’s importance in this ongoing chastisement.

“At the present time, the hatred of the Moslem countries against the West is becoming a hatred against Christianity itself. Although the statesmen have not yet taken it into account, there is still grave danger that the temporal power of Islam may return and, with it, the menace that it may shake off a West which has ceased to be Christian, and affirm itself as a great anti-Christian world power. Moslem writers say, “When the locust swarms darken vast countries, they bear on their wings these Arabic words: *We are God’s host, each of us has ninety-nine eggs, and if we had a hundred, we should lay waste the world with all that is in it.”

Regarding locusts, see Apocalypse Chapter 9, verse 3 and verses 7-11:

“And from the smoke of the pit there came out locusts upon the earth. …And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle: and on their heads were, as it were, crowns like gold: and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women; and their teeth were as lions: And they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was as the noise of chariots and many horses running to battle. And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had over them a king, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apollyon; in Latin Exterminans.”

Continuing from Archbishop Sheen,

The Wrath of the Lamb

“And they say to the mountains and the rocks, ‘Fall upon us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth upon the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.”

Far from being frightening, the above verse is meant to be a consolation. Indeed, the entire Apocalypse is God’s gift of consolation to Christians who are perennially in danger of being swept up in the maelstrom of the spiritual battle to destroy the Church.

"... hide us from the wrath of the Lamb."
“… hide us from the wrath of the Lamb.”

Like the Apocalypse, all Our Lady’s appearances since the Luther began the Age of Apostasy, are consistent; they warn against offending God, and promise His true, unfailing  mercy to His faithful children. Now that we have a truly hellish situation, an apostate pope and a weak and faithless hierarchy unable or unwilling to confront him or otherwise defend the faith, we look to the Apocalypse and to the Messages of Our Immaculate Mother, to seek guidance and consolation.

Today, we will not detail the latest assaults on the faith from Pope Francis but refer you instead to Rorate Caeli’s  report here.

Do you remember Father Amorth’s warning that unless the Pope and Bishops obeyed Our Lady of Fatima and consecrated Russia in October, the Chastisement would begin in earnest? I cannot say it more clearly than this: This is what the spiritual chastisement of the Church is. It is here now. You have the Pope and the Bishops extolling the “virtues” of Martin Luther, the vulgar and despicable heresiarch. For the Pope to laud Luther is to mock Our Lord Himself, to kick Him as He falls beneath this heavy cross.

To those who are paying attention, this is a terrifying time, as we await the denouement that is looming ever larger. These times are both surpassingly sad, and frightening. We know that the arrogant misuse of the teaching authority of the Church will bring, in God’s own time, His justice. In St. John’s Apocalypse, this is referred to as the “Wrath of the Lamb”. And so we continue where we left off with Apocalypse 6, in Father Herman Kramer’s Book of Destiny:

Islam and the Errors of Russia

Well, October came and went and not only was Our Lady of Fatima not obeyed, but the Bergoglio/Danneels wrecking crew continued to push forward their agenda to irrevocably change the Church’s faith and practice in the sacraments and in marriage. This arrogant disobedience is now bearing exactly the fruit that was inevitable. As the muslim invasion of Europe and America continues towards the islamification of the West, let’s look at the reality of islam in the light of the Fatima prophecy of the Errors of Russia.

The Goal of Islam: Global Domination via Jihad
The Goal of Islam: Global Domination via Jihad

A question was asked of me recently, “Where does islam fit in with the ‘errors of Russia’ “? If, by the errors of Russia, we understand a totalitarian, soul-destroying regime, then, islam fits the bill quite nicely. In fact, Islam and Marxism (dialectical materialism) have much in common.

“Bolshevism combines the characteristics of the French Revolution with those of the rise of Islam… Those who accept Bolshevism become impervious to scientific evidence, and commit intellectual suicide. Even if all the doctrines of Bolshevism were true, this would still be the case, since no unbiased examination of them is tolerated…Among religions, Bolshevism is to be reckoned with Mohammedanism [Islam] rather than with Christianity and Buddhism. Christianity and Buddhism are primarily personal religions, with mystical doctrines and a love of contemplation. Mohammedanism and Bolshevism are practical, social, unspiritual, concerned to win the empire of this world.” [Jules Monnerot in “Sociology and Psychology of Communism” quoted by Dr. Andrew Bostom]

In his essay, Dr. Bostom quotes Monnerot to the effect that both Communism and Islam share two major characteristics, conversion and subversion. Both demand total submission and both work tirelessly, undeterred by any adversity, in order to subvert whatever culture impedes the progress of their anti-Christian goal.

Quoting from Dr. Bostom again,”Islam has provided the type of society in which the political and the sacred are indissolubly merged. The law of the Koran was religious, political, and civil all in one; and an infidel could be no more than a tributary. In history and in law he appeared as an object, but not as a participating subject; and the Ottoman Empire was interested in the children of infidels only because they could be recruited as janissaries.”

Paris in Prophecy

The events in Paris have been much in the news, both secular and Catholic lately. But these events have their roots in a process that began even before the French Revolution. In fact,  it began in the protestant revolution of Luther and Henry VIII. The diabolical force behind all the revolutions that have swept the world since the beginning of the age of apostasy, that is, the protestant, French, modernist, marxist and now islamic are all kindred spirits, and come from the Lord of this World. And now, in this, the culmination of this disastrous age of apostasy, we watch the long-awaited chastisement unfold before us.

H/T AmericanDigest.org
H/T AmericanDigest.org.

Paris has seen the mercy of Allah … News reports indicate that several coordinated attacks in Paris have killed quite a few people. Anyone who has seen footage of the muslims marching through the streets of so many European cities, proclaiming that all Europe will soon be Muslim, cannot help but wonder what this all portends. We’ve been reading the prophecies, but up until now they always have a faraway tone to them, as though referring to a time we will never see…

Anyway, in our “For what it’s worth file” we offer:

From the Prophecy of La Salette:

“At the first blow of His thundering sword, the mountains and all nature will tremble in terror, for the disorders and crimes of men have pierced the vault of the heavens. Paris will burn and Marseilles will be engulfed. Several cities will be shaken down and swallowed up by earthquakes. People will believe that all is lost. Nothing will be seen but murder, nothing will be heard but the clash of arms and blasphemy.”

St. John Bosco (d. 1888)

“War comes from the south, peace from the north. French laws no longer recognize the Creator, but the Creator will make Himself recognized and will visit her thrice with the rod of His wrath. In the first visit He breaks her pride by conquest, plundering ruined harvest and butchery of men and beasts.

“In the second visit the great Prostitute of Babylon, which makes decent people sigh and call it the Brothel of Europe, will be left without a leader and will be a victim of disorder. “Paris! Paris! Instead of arming yourself in the name of the Lord, you fortify yourself with Houses of Immorality. They will be destroyed by you yourself. Your idol, The Pantheon, will be burnt to ashes in order that this may come true: ‘violence uttereth lies against me.’ Your enemies will reduce you to want, to hunger, to fear, and will make you the abomination of the nations. Ah, woe to you, if you do not recognize the hand that strikes you! I want to punish immorality, the despising of and the contempt for My law, says the Lord. …

“The days fly by, your years will reach the destined number; but the great Queen (Mary) will ever be your help, and as in times past so in the future She will always be the exceeding great fortress of the Church.”

The Darkness Comes

“…The same preternatural impulse moves the homicidal fury of Islam and the suicidal nihilism of the West. The prince of darkness, being unable to make himself God, wants to destroy everything of God as well as everything resembling Christian Civilization. Without this diabolic infestation it is difficult to understand what is happening in the world.” (Dr. de Mattei)

 The Darkness Cometh

The following is a repost from last April. At that time, there were not as many Catholic voices raised in warning about the coming storm of Islamic persecution of Christians. Now, many are noting and speaking up. In this regard, I recommend the inimitable Hilary Jane White, and recently, Ann Barnhardt also had a good post warning what may be expected if we all follow our humble and merciful Pontiff’s advice and welcome these monsters into our communities and homes.

Of the many voices attempting to interpret the Message of Fatima in these times of gathering darkness, perhaps Roberto de Mattei’s is the clearest. From Rorate Caeli:

Roberto de Mattei

The stars of 148 new martyrs are shining brightly in the firmament of the Church. The young Christian victims of Islam, last Holy Thursday in Kenya, must not be pitied, but envied as they were given the immense grace of martyrdom.

They are martyrs inasmuch as they were Christians killed by Allah’s soldiers. What makes a martyr such, is not the violent death in itself, but the fact that it was inflicted in hatred of the Christian Faith. It is not death itself that makes the martyr, says St. Augustine but that their suffering and death be ordered to the truth. Not all of the victims of a persecution may be called martyrs, [but] only those who meet death at the hands of killers who hate the Faith.

We need to have the courage to name the killers. Silence continues on the events that have been going on for some time now: a systematic, planetary Islamic persecution against Christians. After the episodes in Kenya, Pope Francis read this beautiful prayer: “In Your face – struck [spat upon and disfigured], we see our sin, in You we see our brothers and sisters, persecuted, decapitated and crucified for their faith in You, before our very eyes and often with our complicit silence.”

Antonio Socci, who has often denounced the “complicit silence” of the highest ecclesiastical authorities, writes in Libero: “We are waiting for Pope Francis, from that [Vatican] window, with all of the prestige he enjoys in the media, to awaken the powerful of the earth, mobilize his diplomacy and let everyone hear the cries of grief and pain from the persecuted Christians; may he indicate continuous prayers from the entire Church, may he launch a great humanitarian initiative for these persecuted Christians.”

We need to acknowledge that there is a war of religion in act against Jesus Christ and His Church, fought in the name of the Koran’s Surah which says: “Kill the infidels wherever you find them. This is the recompense for the unbelievers.” (2,191). This war was not waged by Christians, but has been taken up against them. Why don’t the Western governments fight it? The answer is that the West shares the same hate the persecutors have against their own Christian roots.

Western secularism not only … persecutes and ridicules those who defend the natural Christian order of things, but it also practices mass genocide. Monsignor Luc Ravel, Bishop of the French military forces, affirmed:

“We find ourselves having to choose which side to be on; we find ourselves arming against manifest evil without taking a position against the [more] devious kind. The Christian senses that he is caught in a pincer between two ideologies: on the one hand, one that makes a caricature of God which ends up despising man; on the other hand, the manipulation of man which ends up despising God. On the one side, there are the declared and identified adversaries: the terrorists of the bomb, the vindicators of the prophet; on the other side, there are the undeclared but well-known adversaries: the terrorists of thought, promoters of secularism and idolaters of the Republic. In which camp are Christians to be placed? We don’t want to be taken hostage by the Muslims. But we don’t even want to be taken hostage by the conformists either. The Islamic ideology has murdered 17 victims in France. But the ideology of the conformist has 200 thousand victims each year in the wombs of their mothers. Abortion intended as a fundamental “right” is a weapon of mass-destruction.”

The hate the West nurtures for the Church and Christian Civilization is the hate for its own soul and identity. “The West’s self-hate – wrote Benedict XVI – can be considered only as something pathological” : the West is open to and full of comprehension for outside values, “but it no longer loves itself; it now only sees what is shameful and destructive in its history, while it is no longer able to perceive what is great and pure.”

Today the West rejects the values upon which it built its identity and simply chooses the destructive heredity of the Enlightenment, Marxism and Freudism. The gender theory represents the latest intellectual passage of the mind’s disassociation from reality which turns into a pathological hate for human nature itself. Andrea Lubitz by crashing his Airbus into the Alps with 150 passengers, is the expression of this spirit of self-destruction. Suicide is an extreme but coherent expression of the depressed West: a state of mind where the soul sinks into nullity, after losing all reason to live. When absolute relativism is professed one is only self-fulfilled in death.

The slaughter in Garissa is not a “senseless brutality”,  just like the German pilot’s suicide is not an act of pure madness. These destructive or self destructive acts, have their own aberrant logic. The depression of the apostates from Christianity corresponds to the exaltation of the fanatics of Allah: the equilibrium in the world was broken when it turned its back on Christian principles. And the same preternatural impulse moves the homicidal fury of Islam and the suicidal nihilism of the West. The prince of darkness, being unable to make himself God, wants to destroy everything of God as well as everything resembling Christian Civilization. Without this diabolic infestation it is difficult to understand what is happening in the world. And without an Angelic intervention it is impossible to combat a battle which had its first action at the moment of creation, when the Angelic front was divided into two forces perennially in opposition throughout the history of the created universe.

The message of Fatima sees Our Lady preceded and accompanied by Angels. And those who have read the Third Secret will remember the tragic vision of a great cross where at its foot the Pope is also killed : “Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.” As it was at the very beginning of Christianity, the blood of Christians is the seed of rebirth in history and of victory in eternity.

Do not forget, at Fatima, Our Lady of the Rosary said she would return again, that is to say, there is another visit of the the Immaculate Mother of God. This will be her victorious moment when Islam will be converted and the Church will be restored, the darkness dispelled!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, we place our trust in thee, our shelter from the storm.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, return in triumph, restore the Faith!
St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle!

Fatima, Vatican II and the Chastisement 2

For those who have asked, here is our third installment. Previous posts were Fatima, Vatican II and the Chastisement and Seven Trumpets.

And there were given to them seven trumpets...
And there were given to them seven trumpets…

Like many others in these dark and confused times, I read (and reread!)  the Apocalypse and books of Catholic prophecy by approved Catholic authors. Today, we have the benefit of a perspective that includes more history than that which was available to previous exegetes of the Apocalypse. In particular, we have the Message of Fatima, from the Queen of Heaven herself, plus the benefit of what we have observed and learned about the Second Vatican Council and its effects on the Church and the world. And with every passing day, Pope Francis and his cohort make the apostasy of the faith ever clearer.

In this series of posts, I hope to look at a few passages from St. John’s Apocalypse in the light of recent history. For our purposes, the term ‘recent’ refers to the events a little before Our Lady of the Rosary’s visits to Fatima in 1917 and on up to the present day, that is to the Synod and its sequelae. I am no expert in this, but simply offer these thoughts as an opportunity to get a discussion going. From what my readers tell me, there is a real need for this, and if we can at least get people discussing it, I hope we can help spread the message of Fatima and prepare for what is to come. I anticipate hate mail and criticism, and that’s OK. If you can improve on this, please be sure that I will support you, especially with my prayers. I do welcome all helpful criticism and contributions to the discussion. My email is in the sidebar.

Let’s start with Chapter 8.

[1] And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven, as it were for half an hour. [2] And I saw seven angels standing in the presence of God; and there were given to them seven trumpets. [3] And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God. [4] And the smoke of the incense of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God from the hand of the angel. [5] And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and cast it on the earth, and there were thunders and voices and lightnings, and a great earthquake.

[6] And the seven angels, who had the seven trumpets, prepared themselves to sound the trumpet. [7] And the first angel sounded the trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood, and it was cast on the earth, and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. [8] And the second angel sounded the trumpet: and as it were a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood: [9] And the third part of those creatures died, which had life in the sea, and the third part of the ships was destroyed. [10] And the third angel sounded the trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, burning as it were a torch, and it fell on the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters:

[11] And the name of the star is called Wormwood. And the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. [12] And the fourth angel sounded the trumpet, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day did not shine for a third part of it, and the night in like manner. [13] And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth: by reason of the rest of the voices of the three angels, who are yet to sound the trumpet.

Father Herman Kramer in his Book of Destiny  explains that the angels exemplify the invisible decrees of God, “for they later at fore-ordained moments blow the trumpets … to announce the beginning of scourges that punish infidelity. … The trumpets announce the advent of judgements. The prophets call themselves God’s trumpets when they announce the coming judgements, wars and enemies.”

So, let’s go with that reasonable interpretation. Throughout salvation history, God makes us aware of His mighty justice when we have presumed against His mercy for a prolonged period. As willful children who continue to provoke their Father, mankind occasionally must be reminded that God is just as much as He is merciful. These days, the excessive emphasis on God’s “nonjudgemental” mercy is actually a form of hubris, a prideful presumption of our “preciousness” in assuming that we will face no consequences of our defiance against God.

In my earlier post, Seven Trumpets, I explained the relationship between Pope Paul VI, Vatican II and the Seven Trumpets of the Apocalypse.

In verse 3, we find, “And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God.” Although Father Kramer here interprets the golden altar, “typifies a grand institution in the Church, the religious orders, especially the contemplative life.” I do not see it so, it appears to be exactly what it says, a golden (i.e., perfectly pure) altar, indeed the altar of the Sacrifice of the Mass, the unbloody sacrifice of Calvary and the magnificent Sacrament of His love, the Holy Eucharist, God with us.  Our Lord Jesus Christ is the perfectly pure golden altar, whereon all our holy saints have offered their lives as an oblation (incense) to the Eternal Father. Father Kramer says of this passage, “The golden altar, the fire upon it, the incense and the golden censer are all symbols of the religious life, the life of prayer.” I believe It is more correct to see the symbolism here as the oblations of the saints in union with, and based on, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. While Father K. emphasizes the offerings of the saints, he overlooks the most important part, that is that the oblations of the saints are based upon union with Christ in the most Blessed Sacrament. Father Kramer could never have anticipated the wholesale degradation of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass or the horrible blasphemies against Our Lord in His sacrament of love that have resulted from the disastrous Council.

In verses 4 and 5 we have, “And the smoke of the incense of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God from the hand of the angel. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and cast it on the earth, and there were thunders and voices and lightnings, and a great earthquake.” So the saints offer prayers to God, but then, the Angel fills the censer with fire and then casts the fire upon the earth, causing thunders, lightning and a great earthquake. Note that when the Angel fills the censer, he puts in no incense. This indicates no prayers.  Father Kramer earlier explained that the fire represents both love and hatred.

My interpretation of this is that it predicts the effects of the post-conciliar “reforms” , i.e., that the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will become neglected, debased, while saintly souls will diminish in number and God’s Angel of Justice will convict the world of these offenses by casting fire (punishment for disobedience) on the earth, resulting in “thunders, voices and lightnings and a great earthquake”. In this context, these signs show a warning of God’s judgement soon to follow. Note that the order of these images is reversed from that of Chapter 4, verse 5. The reversal is significant, as the first instance is positive, and this is the contrary. There seems to be a consensus that the earthquake represents the overthrow of an existing order; it presages the impending overthrow of the right order of the Church. Thus, this first Angel is warning of the falling away of the faith, of the changes that were being planned long before Vatican II was convoked.

In verse 7, “And the first Angel sounded the trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood, and it was cast on the earth, and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.” Father Berry in his “The Apocalypse of St. John”  explains that the fire is a chastisement from heaven for disobedience, and the fire mingled with blood represents wars and revolutions, which marked the 20th century perhaps more than ever before. The hail, blood and fire represent immense bloodshed, and it appears to indicate the violence of the abortions of hundreds of millions of innocent babies before they could be baptised. Within just a few years after Vatican II, abortion swept over the earth. Without the Consecration, Russia has been unable to convert and today, there are two abortions for every live birth in Russia!

The hail is a sign of judgement for heresy, and it is clear that heresy both contributed to and resulted from Vatican II. The death and destruction of the trees and grass represents the destruction of fertility, both material and spiritual, caused by this scourge of disobedience.

Verses 8 and 9, “And the second angel sounded the trumpet: and as it were a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood: And the third part of those creatures died, which had life in the sea, and the third part of the ships was destroyed.” This echoes Old Testament passages where Babylon is referred to. In this case, it indicates Islam, as Father Kramer rightly intuited long before the current resurgence of this ancient heresy. Islam is drenching the world with blood and spreading like a diabolical firestorm.

In identifying Islam as the second scourge, Father K. explains that Islam, “is a religion of crude materialism … It not only brought spiritual death to the regions it conquered, but a bloody death to all who opposed its progress.” The ships destroyed are Catholic churches destroyed by the Islamists.

In verses 10 and 11 we meet the third Angel. “And the third angel sounded the trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, burning as it were a torch, and it fell on the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters: And the name of the star is called Wormwood. And the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.” This third scourge affects the divine institution of the Church. A great star falls from heaven, and is not extinguished but burns, scourging the the “fountains of waters”, indicating damage to the source, in this case the source of the rivers of supernatural life in the Church, the sacraments. Note that it does not mix with the waters, it transforms them, changing the very nature of the sacraments  into something bitter, which destroys the souls of many. This indicates the loss of faith throughout the church through the corruption of the Mass and the sacraments, the corruption of the liturgy, and of catechesis.

Who is Wormwood? In Chapter 1, 20, John explains that the stars are Angels of the churches, thus, wormwood is a Bishop, actually, a great Bishop, the Bishop of Rome, the Pontiff. This great star was Pope John XXIII, who fell from grace by his defiance of the command of God. Failing to obey our Lady’s wishes, he not only refused to perform the Consecration, he also refused to reveal the secret which Our Blessed Mother had expressly ordered the Pope to reveal in 1960. This Bishop does not lose his office when apostatizing but falling, he causes others to fail in their faith and he would lose the light with which to enlighten the world. The name “Wormwood” indicates apostasy, as has been noted of the unreleased Third Secret of Fatima, which refers to an apostasy which begins at the top. In Jeremiah, wormwood is threatened as a food for false prophets and perverse priests, especially those who encouraged evildoers in sin. Doesn’t that seem appropriate for these corrupt conciliar prelates?

Father Kramer goes on to explain that wormwood symbolizes perverting the sources of grace and the spiritual life into poison and bitterness. By perverting the faith, the wormwood of modernism (and now neo-modernism) let loose on the Church by disobedient Pope John XXIII established a schism in the Church, but this time the schismatics were the modernist revolutionaries who assumed control of the structures of the visible church, casting out faithful Catholics. The revolutionaries had the visible structures, but the faithful traditional Catholics kept the faith.

From Father Kramer, “Wormwood will be the refreshment of all bishops and priests who mislead the people by false standards and practice injustice against faithful pastors. Selfish ambition and advancement in the church for earthly gain is their object. This fallen star changes the sources of spiritual life into wormwood, into sources of spiritual death by disobedience, pride and ambition. … He turns truth into falsehood.”

Father believes this portion to refer to the Greek Schism, but as we know, biblical prophecies can have more than one meaning, refer to more than one instance. The Greek Schism was a serious source of error and spiritual death in the Church, but the modernist revolution within the Church, taking over the structures of the church, is far more serious.

Verse 12: “And the fourth angel sounded the trumpet, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day did not shine for a third part of it, and the night in like manner.” This indicates the lights of heaven dimmed, which is a clear reference to the disastrous results of the Second Vatican Council and its deleterious results on the Church. The beauty and fecundity of the Church is nearly destroyed. The true Church is reduced to an embattled and weakened Remnant. In the Old Testament, both Isaiah and Ezekiel use the description of the darkening of the sun, moon and stars, and here it indicates a calamity befalling the Church, dimming her glory and ushering in a rapid decline in her ability to enlighten the world.

We conclude this post with verse 13: “And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth: by reason of the rest of the voices of the three angels, who are yet to sound the trumpet.”

Think on this for next time.

And they realized they were no longer in Rome…

“And they realized they were no longer in Rome …”

St. John Bosco’s prophecy of the two pillars is fairly well known, but he also made another prophecy, which is related in the book by Rev. Gerald Culleton, The Prophets and Our Times:

“And to you, Rome, what will happen? Ungrateful Rome! Effeminate Rome! proud Rome!

“Rome! To you I will come four times! The first time, I shall strike your lands and the inhabitants thereof. The second time, I shall bring the massacre and the slaughter even to your very walls. And will you not yet open your eyes I shall come a third time and I shall beat down to the ground your defenses and the defenders and at the command of the Father, the reign of terror, of dreadful fear and of desolation shall enter into your city.

“But My wise men have now fled and My law is even now trampled underfoot. Therefore I will make a fourth visit. Woe to you if My law shall still be considered as empty words. There will be deceit and falsehood among both the learned and the ignorant. Your blood and that of your children will wash away your stains upon God’s Law. War, pestilence and famine are the rods to scourge men’s pride and wickedness. O wealthy men, where is your glory now, your estates, your palaces? They are rubble on the highways and byways. …

"And they realized they were no longer in Rome..."
“And they realized they were no longer in Rome…”

“It was a dark night. Men could no longer tell which way to take in order to return to their homes. Of a sudden there appeared in the heavens a very bright light that illuminated the steps of the travelers as though it were mid-day. At that moment there was seen a host of men and women, of young and old, of nuns, monks and priests with the Holy Father at the head. They were going out from the Vatican and were arranging themselves in line for a procession. “Then there came a furious storm which clouded that light somewhat and made it appear that light and darkness were engaged in battle. In the meantime, they arrived at a little square covered with dead and wounded, some of whom cried aloud and asked for help.

“Very many were dropping out of the line of procession. After having walked for a time that would correspond to two hundred risings of the sun (200 days) they all realized that they were no longer in Rome. Struck with fear they all ran to the Holy Father to defend him personally and to attend his wants. Instantly two angels were seen carrying a banner, going they presented it to the Holy Father and said: ‘Receive the banner of He Who fights and scatters the strongest armies of the world. Your enemies are dispersed. Your children with tears and sighs beg you to return.’ “Looking at the banner one could see written on one side, ‘Queen conceived without sin,’ and on the other side, ‘Help of Christians.’

“The Holy Father joyfully took the banner, but looking closely at the small number of those who remained with him, he became very sad. “The two angels added: ‘Go quickly to console your children. Write your brothers dispersed throughout the world that there must be a reform in the morals of men. That cannot be obtained except by distributing to the people the bread of the Divine Word. Catechize the children. Preach the detaching of the heart from the things that are of the earth. The time has come,’ concluded the two angels, ‘when the poor shall evangelize the people. Vocations will come from among those working with the spade, the axe, and the hammer to the end that they fulfill the words of David: ‘God has raised up the poor from the land in order to place them on the thrones of the princes of His people.

“Having heard that, the Holy Father began the march. The farther he went the greater did the procession behind increase. When finally he set foot in the Holy City, he wept bitter tears for the distress in which he found the people and the large number now missing. As he entered St. Peter’s he intoned the ‘Te Deum’ to which a choir of angels replied singing: ‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men of good will. “With the ending of the hymn, there came an end to the thick darkness and the sun shone with a brightness all its own. (From Rev. Gerald Culleton, The Prophets and Our Times, Kindle Edition, by KIC)

Just a few notes on this fascinating prophecy:

  • Note the mention of darkness, confusion, the impression that “light and darkness were engaged in battle.” An apt description of this current age of apostasy.
  • When the Pope and those faithful to him left Rome (journeying to the peripheries perhaps?), they passed by faithful Catholics wounded and dying and took note of them, but there is no mention of offering them aid, is there?
  • As the Pope advanced farther from Rome, very many dropped out. Seems to indicate that the farther the Pope gets from the true dogmas of the Faith, the less Catholics are inclined to follow, as we see in the grim statistics marking the wintery “Springtime” of Vatican II.
  • But the most significant portion of the prophecy is when the two angels appear to tell the Pope: ‘Receive the banner of He Who fights and scatters the strongest armies of the world. Your enemies are dispersed. Your children with tears and sighs beg you to return.’ “Looking at the banner one could see written on one side, ‘Queen conceived without sin,’ and on the other side, ‘Help of Christians.’ In this, as in his prophecy of the Two Pillars, St. John Bosco affirms that Christ the King prefers to conquer through means of His Most Blessed Mother. The banner of Christ the King bears two of her titles: The first, “conceived without sin” is of course, the Immaculate Conception and the second title is also very informative, Mary Help of Christians, Our Lady of Victory. That is her title for vanquishing the Muslims, which will be accomplished at her last apparition at Fatima to end the Islamist war on Christians.

As always, pray the Rosary and confound the devil!
