The Moment Has Come …

“The moment has come … ” With these words, Our Lady of Fatima began the most significant and mystical vision of all the Marian apparitions when she appeared to Sister Lucia at Tuy on June 13, 1929. In this post we will attempt to understand the vision and its message for us today in light of the Apocalypse and the events of this centenary year.

Previously, in Apocalypse 12 we saw that great red dragon, whom Pope Leo XIII referred to as, “the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan” go to war against the Woman clothed with the Sun, and prepare to make war with “her seed”, the faithful Church.  Chapter 12 ends:

And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.  And he stood upon the sand of the sea.

Now, we arrive at Apocalypse 13, which reveals the strategy of the dragon, which is satan. In her book, “Beyond Politics”, Solange Hertz describes the scene for us,

Before St. John’s eyes a diabolic trinity began taking shape which appears to be a blasphemous parody of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The Apostle sees a beast coming up out of the sea, followed by another beast coming from the earth. These two are joined in a close relationship with each other and with the Dragon, who is, of course, Satan himself, and who animates and directs them in such a way that the three operate as one. St. John saw the Dragon give the first beast “his own strength and great power,” so that the reprobates “adored the dragon which gave power to the beast.” The second beast also derives his power from the Dragon, but through the medium of the first beast. We are told, “He executed all the power of the former beast in his sight; and he caused the earth and them that dwell therein to adore the first beast,” just as this first beast had caused them to adore the Dragon. Thus the Dragon mimics the role of God the Father in the Blessed Trinity, source of both the Son and the Holy Ghost, whose parts are played by the two Beasts in the diabolic threesome.

What does St. John tell us of this second beast, the one who arises from the earth, which is symbolic of the Church?

“And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. And he executed all the power of the former beast in his sight; and he caused the earth, and them that dwell therein, to adore the first beast, whose wound to death was healed.” (Apocalypse 13, 11-12)

Thus, we see that this second beast appears as a lamb, but “he spoke as a dragon”. This warns us that although the beast masquerades as the leader of Christians, he has a diabolic agenda. The reader will draw his own conclusions. For now, we simply point out that St. John’s vision of the diabolical trinity also represents a  reversal of Christendom.  In the diabolical vision, the State derives from Satan and then, the so-called “Church” (one world religion of man) derives from the State and serves the State, not God. This is the direct reversal of Christendom in which Christ reigns over all. This vision is the same as that proposed by Pope Paul VI at the close of Vatican II and most thoroughly exemplified by the new Bergoglian church, which occupies the Vatican and seeks now to draw all  into its deadly grasp, the Franciscans of the Immaculate, the Sovereign Military Order of the Knights of Malta, and now the Society of St. Pius X. And there is none to withstand him.

Let us compare that vision of St. John’s with the remarkable vision granted to Sister Lucia at Tuy, June 13, 1929.

The Vision of Tuy

The moment has come …

Suddenly a supernatural light illumined the whole chapel and on the altar appeared a cross of light which reached to the ceiling.  In a brighter part could be seen, on the upper part of the Cross, the face of a man and His body to the waist;  On His breast was an equally luminous dove,  and nailed to the cross, the body of another man.

A little below the waist, suspended in mid-air, was to be seen a Chalice and a large Host on to which fell some drops of Blood from the face of the Crucified and from a wound in His breast. These drops ran down over the Host and fell into the Chalice.

Under the right arm of the Cross was Our Lady with Her Immaculate Heart in Her hand … (It was Our Lady of Fatima with Her Immaculate Heart… in Her left hand… without a sword or roses, but with a crown of thorns and flames…)

Under the left arm (of the Cross), some big letters, as it were of crystal-clear water running down over the Altar, formed these words: “Grace and Mercy”.

“I understood that it was the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity that was shown to me …”

Then Our Lady said to me:

“The moment has come when God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.  So numerous are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me, that I come to ask for reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray.”

In her memoirs, recounted by Frere Michel, Sister Lucia states that later, by means of an interior communication, Our Lord said to her,

“They did not want to heed My request! … Like the King of France they will repent and do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church: the Holy Father will have much to suffer.”

This vision at Tuy was Heaven’s warning against the diabolical attacks which even then threatened the Church. In it, God, in His infinite providence is asserting both His dominion and the means He is offering for those who choose to follow Him.  At Tuy, the message of Fatima is confirmed and clarified for those who would see. We are offered the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Mother of all those who follow Him in truth. God’s dominion is through His grace and mercy, which flow from His crucifixion by which He saves all those who repent from their sins and take up their crosses, following Him. As the vision shows, He nourishes us with His Sacred Body and Blood.

This mystical vision, so rich in its sacred imagery was given for two reasons: firstly, to warn the Pope and hierarchy of that time, who refused to heed it and secondly, to assist the faithful of our time. For at this time, the second beast is perilously close to achieving the goal of the first beast, which is to eliminate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  We discussed this in at least two earlier posts, “June 13, 2015” and “The Message of Fatima for the Post-synodal Church”. An excerpt:

“The period of time after 1917 was a series of setbacks; although the Popes and Bishops recognized Fatima and appeared to honor Our Lady of Fatima, the corruption in the Church continued and devotion to the true message of Fatima was never promoted. Pope Benedict XV, who had succeeded St. Pius X,  dismantled his Anti-Modernist structures including the offices of the Sodalitium Pianum that were finally closed down altogether in 1921. Thus, modernism began its resurgence in the seminaries and universities, preparing the way for those “Periti” who would engineer the the takeover of the Second Vatican Council, which they themselves called the Revolution of 1789 in the Church.

“Benedict  XV was followed by Pius XI, a brilliant intellectual and considered thoroughly orthodox in matters of the faith. However, his secular policies, resulting from the influence of his Masonic Secretary of State Gasparri, brought much harm to the Church. He effectively destroyed Catholic political parties, entered into various concordats, and in 1929 he ceded the Papal States to Italy in exchange for a large sum of money, with which the Vatican then entered the ranks of international bankers. Pius XI’s Secretary of State, Gasparri also engineered a treaty in Mexico which effectively disarmed the Cristeros although the persecution of Mexican Catholics continued for years afterwards. It is most likely that it is these events, the Vatican’s entrance into Masonic controlled international banking (with all the corruption and intrigue that entails)and its betrayal of Catholic faithful, that prompted Our Lady’s return to Sister Lucia again.”

With each pope’s arrogant denial of Heaven’s request, the darkness and chaos increased as grace and faith ebbed away until we finally arrived at the apotheosis of the modernist heresy, Jorge Bergoglio, who seeks to complete the total perversion of the faith in time for the “celebration” of Martin Luther’s soul destroying revolution.

Pope Francis came to Fatima and on the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of the Rosary’s first apparition, and here is what he offered Our Lady by way of a tribute:

“Pilgrims with Mary… But which Mary? A teacher of the spiritual life, the first to follow Jesus on the “narrow way” of the cross by giving us an example, or a Lady “unapproachable” and impossible to imitate? A woman “blessed because she believed” always and everywhere in God’s words (cf. Lk 1:42.45), or a “plaster statue” from whom we beg favours at little cost? The Virgin Mary of the Gospel, venerated by the Church at prayer, or a Mary of our own making: one who restrains the arm of a vengeful God; one sweeter than Jesus the ruthless judge; one more merciful than the Lamb slain for us?

“Great injustice is done to God’s grace whenever we say that sins are punished by his judgment, without first saying – as the Gospel clearly does – that they are forgiven by his mercy! Mercy has to be put before judgment and, in any case, God’s judgment will always be rendered in the light of his mercy. Obviously, God’s mercy does not deny justice, for Jesus took upon himself the consequences of our sin, together with its due punishment. He did not deny sin, but redeemed it on the cross. Hence, in the faith that unites us to the cross of Christ, we are freed of our sins; we put aside all fear and dread, as unbefitting those who are loved (cf. 1 Jn 4:18). …”

“With Mary, may each of us become a sign and sacrament of the mercy of God, who pardons always and pardons everything.”

The best rebuttal of that blasphemous tripe is from Christopher Ferrara who defended Our Lady most elegantly in his Fatima Perspective 1008.

In it, Mr. Ferrara affirms that, “Mary …  is the Immaculate Conception, the sinless Virgin Mother of God, the Mediatrix of all Graces, and the Co-Redemptrix, Who from all eternity was destined to play Her central role in the Redemption by bearing the God-Man conceived by the Holy Ghost in Her own womb, flesh of Her flesh, Her true Son.” …

“And then the false alternative, combined with caricature: it is either the “Mary of the Gospel” or the “Mary of our own making: one who restrains the arm of a vengeful God; one sweeter than Jesus the ruthless judge; one more merciful than the Lamb slain for us…” …

“Implicit in this snide distortion of the traditional Catholic view of Mary is, first of all, an implicit negation of the entire Message of Fatima, which involves precisely the ultimatum that God will inflict terrible punishments on humanity and that souls will be lost for all eternity unless the Virgin’s requests are granted. Moreover, the vision the Vatican itself published in 2000 depicts the destructive rays emanating from the avenging angel being repelled by none other than the Blessed Virgin.

Mr. Ferrara concludes by affirming  that implicit in the message of Fatima is the Catholic teaching that God’s  mercy extends, through the Immaculate Mother of God, to souls that have recourse to Her. “That is, God deigns to allow His Mother a singular intercessory power possessed by no other human creature.”

Thus, we see something never before seen in the history of the Church: the reputed Vicar of Christ insulting Christ’s Mother at the very place of her apparitions on the 100th anniversary of Fatima. Do you think His justice is not outraged? However, who among the hierarchy defended Our Lady of Fatima and her message?  Was there any Bishop ?  I repeat, who defended Our Lady?

There is so much more that you need to understand about this, but it is very late now. Please, for the love of the Immaculata, turn to her, pray her Rosary, ask her help to perform pleasing acts of penance and a thorough and complete Consecration, both personal and of your family if appropriate.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom come, Viva Cristo Rey!

St. Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family, protect our families, protect our priests!

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!

The Truth of the Lord Endures Forever

As a result of the canonization of Francisco and Jacinta, the little saints of Fatima, we are seeing a beautiful torrent of graces from heaven. Years ago, when he was asked why no pope has Consecrated Russia, Father Malachi Martin said that it was because grace was not given to them, essentially because not enough faithful have obeyed Our Lady’s request for rosaries and reparation, especially the First Saturdays.  But we have been working, all of us who heed the true message of Fatima, and consequently, we have had the Church’s Canonization of the youngest Fatima saints. Our Lady had already “canonized” them, in her promise that she would take them to heaven soon; but when the pope gave the Church’s approval, I believe that heaven smiled on us all and has shown us mercy in Cardinal Burke’s effort towards fulfilling Our Lady’s request.

Please, more than ever, offer your fasting, penances and rosaries – and Eucharistic adoration if possible! For the success of the very brave initiative of Cardinal Burke and the wonderful Catholics of Voice of the Family.  I will not reprint it all here when it is so well done at Lifesite News, but please follow these links  if you have not already:

Cardinal Burke Calls for Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

We are witnessing St. John Paul II’s prophesy of an ‘anti-Church’: Catholic priest

Dear readers, you have endured so many of my posts, bemoaning the tragic state of the hierarchy today, and now, at last, we have begun to see some really hopeful actions! But if we do not support them with our renewed prayers and sacrifices, how will they sustain this brave effort?

Just a few days ago, this pope canonized Saint Francisco Marto  and Saint Jacinta Marto of Fatima. He was unable to do it however, without perverting the message of Fatima and even taking a slap at Our Lady afterwards.   But in response to this canonization, Heaven has showered graces and we are now blessed with a true miracle, which I believe has come from Jacinta and Francisco themselves. These humble little saints never missed an opportunity to make reparation for sinners, to beg for their conversion and to pray for the Pope.

And now, Cardinal Burke and those who support him,  at last are calling for the Pope to obey Our Lady of Fatima – to Consecrate Russia, to promote the First Saturdays of Reparation, to promote the Brown Scapular. This is the miracle of grace we have been praying and offering penance for. Please support this brave initiative with all your hearts and do not fail to thank God and our newest saints of Fatima – Jacinta and Francisco! – for this generous blessing.

What will be the Society’s Response?

We must also pray that Bishop Fellay and the SSPX stand with Cardinal Burke and these others who are calling for the Consecration of Russia and the First Saturdays. For many months, Bishop Fellay and the Society of St. Pius X have been waging a Crusade of Rosaries and Reparation, begging for just this moment. Now, here it is, what will be the Society’s  response?

The question of what the Society of St. Pius X will do is not an idle one. Many traditionals have been watching the Argentine pope’s tango with the Society leaders and wondering … This is a crucial moment to see if Bishop Fellay is truly a leader in the spirit of Archbishop Lefebvre! We must pray for them.

What about the other Bishops?

Will they stand idly by? Who is brave enough to stand with Cardinal Burke? After years of failing to defend the faith and failing Our Lady of Fatima as well,  will they now heed the call from Our Lady of Fatima? We must pray for these Bishops and pray for our priests!

If you have not already, please read Father Clovis’s remarks at the Rome Life Forum, he is saying quite unmistakably the truth about the anti-church. Readers, this is a crucial turning point, we must not fail now, because if we do, there will be only darkness hereafter as Bergoglio and his wrecking crew finish their seeming demolition.  Any Bishop who does not stand with Cardinal Burke is not just failing the faithful, he is failing the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Wouldn’t it be a splendid thing if this pope repented! We must pray! And we must back up our prayers with obedient and generous sacrifices! Pray to Sts. Jacinta  and Francisco for help with this, believe me, it really does work!

Now is the time for us to renew our prayers, our acts of reparation with a gratitude we may not have felt earlier!

We close with a couple of Psalms from Prime ifrom the  Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Psalm 53

Save me, O God, by Thy name, and judge me in Thy strength.  O God, hear my prayer: harken to the words of my mouth.  For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: and they have not set God before their eyes.

For behold God is my helper: and the Lord is the protector of my soul. Turn back the evil upon my enemies; and destroy them in Thy truth.  Freely will I  sacrifice to thee, and will give praise, O God, to Thy name: because it is good: For Thou hast delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath looked down upon my enemies.

Psalm 84

Thou hast blessed Thy land, O Lord, Thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of Thy people. Thou hast covered all their sins. Thou hast softened all Thine anger; Thou hast turned Thyself from Thy wrathful indignation. Convert Thou us, O God our Savior and turn away Thine anger from us. Wilt Thou be angry with us forever, or wilt Thou stretch out Thy wrath from generation to generation?

Thou wilt turn again, O God and quicken us and Thy people shall rejoice in Thee. Show us O Lord, Thy mercy and grant us Thy salvation. I will harken what the Lord God shall say within me for He will speak peace unto His people; unto His saints and unto them that are converted in heart.

Surely His salvation is nigh unto them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. mercy and truth have met; justice and peace have kissed. Truth is sprung from the earth and justice hath looked down from heaven. For the Lord shall put forth His goodness and our land shall yield her fruit. Justice shall walk before him and shall set his footsteps in the way.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

St. Francisco of Fatima, pray for us! pray for the Church!

St. Jacinta of Fatima, pray for us! pray for the Pope!

The Wrath of the Lamb II

The term, “Wrath of the Lamb” indicates a severe judgment on prelates for Eucharistic abuses. It indicates a fearsome reprisal for those who desecrate the Eucharist, not merely the laymen, but particularly the hierarchy to whom Our Lord has entrusted His Sacred Mysteries and who shamelessly betray Him.

All three installments of “With Burning Concern: We Accuse Pope Francis” are online at Catholic Family News. It’s a very skillfully compiled summary of the most serious errors being pushed by the Bergoglian Reformation against the Church. It’s a tragic sign of the darkness of these days that there has not been one single prelate to speak out as clearly and bravely as Michael Matt, Chris Ferrara and John Vennari, and we pray that their message will reach all of the faithful throughout the world. Please download all three parts and help spread them.

Since I am unfortunately unable to post at present, I offer an earlier post which addresses the alarming heterodoxy flourishing in this Bergoglian Reformation:

The Wrath of the Lamb

“And they say to the mountains and the rocks, ‘Fall upon us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth upon the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.”

Far from being frightening, the above verse is meant to be a consolation. Indeed, the entire Apocalypse is God’s gift of consolation to Christians who are perennially in danger of being swept up in the maelstrom of the spiritual battle to destroy the Church.

Like the Apocalypse, all Our Lady’s appearances since the Luther began the Age of Apostasy are consistent; they warn against offending God, and promise His true, unfailing mercy to His faithful children. Now that we have a truly hellish situation, an apostate pope and a weak and faithless hierarchy unable or unwilling to confront him or otherwise defend the faith, we look to the Apocalypse and to the Messages of Our Immaculate Mother, to seek guidance and consolation.

Do you remember Father Amorth’s warning that unless the Pope and Bishops obeyed Our Lady of Fatima and consecrated Russia in October, the Chastisement would begin in earnest? I cannot say it more clearly than this: This is what the spiritual chastisement of the Church is. It is here now. You have the Pope and the Bishops extolling the “virtues” of Martin Luther, the vulgar and despicable heresiarch. For the Pope to laud Luther is to mock Our Lord Himself, to kick Him as He falls beneath this heavy cross.

To those who are paying attention, this is a terrifying time, as we await the denouement that is looming ever larger. These times are both surpassingly sad, and frightening. We know that the arrogant misuse of the teaching authority of the Church will bring, in God’s own time, His justice. In St. John’s Apocalypse, this is referred to as the “Wrath of the Lamb”. In Father Herman Kramer’s “Book of Destiny“, of Apocalypse, Chapter 6, verses 15-17, we read:

The Magisterium of Francis

Sandro Magister has a good post on what our humble Bishop of Rome has next on his agenda of surprises: A married priesthood! Magister had written of this right after the last Synod:

See: The Next Synod Is Already in the Works. On Married Priests

And: Married Priests. The Germany-Brazil Axis

“Not Enough Celibate Priests? Make Way For Married Priests“.

“This is the remedy being considered by Cardinal Hummes and Pope Francis for regions with a scarcity of clergy, starting with the Amazon. … Pope Francis received in audience a few days ago the Brazilian cardinal Cláudio Hummes, accompanied by the archbishop of Natal, Jaime Vieira Rocha.

Hummes, 82, former archbishop of São Paulo and prefect of the Vatican congregation for the clergy, is today the president both of the commission for the Amazon of the episcopal conference of Brazil and of the Pan-Amazonian Network that joins together 25 cardinals and bishops of the surrounding countryside, in addition to indigenous representatives of different local ethnicities.

A Complaint Against Francis

By the grace of God and the law of Church, a complaint against Francis, Roman Pontiff, on account of danger to the Faith and grave harm to souls and the common good of the Holy Catholic Church.

“they shall be ‘like sharp arrows in the hand of the powerful’ Mary to pierce her enemies.”That they may extinguish the fire in the House of God.”

Today, Michael Matt, Christopher Ferrara and John Vennari have made Church history. They have done what no member of the episcopacy was willing to do. They have taken action to speak the truth boldly, to defend the doctrine of the faith from the man who calls himself the Bishop of Rome and currently occupies the See of Peter.

John Vennari, Michael Matt and Christopher Ferrara are not the brave and faithful prelates we have been praying for, but they are the brave and faithful laymen we have been given. And they are doing what no Bishop, Archbishop or Cardinal will do, they are defending the faith against Pope Francis.

The following post is taken verbatim from Mr. John Vennari’s Catholic Family News.  We have not edited it in any way. We hope that you will read it prayerfully, forward to others, and most importantly pray for all concerned and if at all possible have Masses offered for these men and for the Pope and hierarchy.

Lamentabili Sane

In honor of St. Pius X, our last saintly Pope, on his feast day, we offer his Syllabus Against Modernism, a firm guide for us as we continue to observe the unravelling of the doctrine and practice of the faith.

The final Synod Against the Family and the Eucharist is past, and Pope Francis continues his demolition derby against the dogma and practice of the faith.  A good remedy for these errors is to refresh our knowledge of the immutable truths of the Faith as once proclaimed by saints, especially our holy Popes of years gone by. From our treasury of Encyclicals, we offer St. Pius X’s brave, if unsuccessful, effort to stem the tide of heresy that eventually overwhelmed the Church in the twentieth century.

As we read this classic of the faith, we cannot help but note that the errors condemned here are the very foundation for the irreversible changes being foisted upon us by the self-named St. Gallen Mafia, the Bergoglio/Kasper agenda, especially those in Amoris Laetitia.

Pope St. Pius X

As a preface to Lamentabili Sane, we offer a brief quote from Pope St. Pius X’s “Notre Charge Apostolique” in which he condemns the Sillon, a precursor of the “social justice” preached by Pope Francis in place of the Gospel.

“Our Apostolic Mandate requires from Us that We watch over the purity of the Faith and the integrity of Catholic discipline. It requires from Us that We protect the faithful from evil and error; especially so when evil and error are presented in dynamic language which, concealing vague notions and ambiguous expressions with emotional and high-sounding words, is likely to set ablaze the hearts of men in pursuit of ideals which, whilst attractive, are nonetheless nefarious. Such were not so long ago the doctrines of the so-called philosophers of the 18th century, the doctrines of the Revolution and Liberalism which have been so often condemned; such are even today the theories of the Sillon which, under the glowing appearance of generosity, are all too often wanting in clarity, logic and truth.”

And now for Pope St. Pius X’s beautiful and clear condemnation of the errors of modernism, which he proclaimed over a century ago and which is even more relevant today: Lamentabili Sane: (emphasis ours)

LAMENTABILI SANE

Pius X July 3, 1907
With truly lamentable results, our age, casting aside all restraint in its search for the ultimate causes of things, frequently pursues novelties so ardently that it rejects the legacy of the human race. Thus it falls into very serious errors, which are even more serious when they concern sacred authority, the interpretation of Sacred Scripture, and the principal mysteries of Faith. The fact that many Catholic writers also go beyond the limits determined by the Fathers and the Church herself is extremely regrettable. In the name of higher knowledge and historical research (they say), they are looking for that progress of dogmas which is, in reality, nothing but the corruption of dogmas.

These errors are being daily spread among the faithful. Lest they captivate the faithful’s minds and corrupt the purity of their faith, His Holiness, Pius X, by Divine Providence, Pope, has decided that the chief errors should be noted and condemned by the Office of this Holy Roman and Universal Inquisition.

Therefore, after a very diligent investigation and consultation with the Reverend Consultors, the Most Eminent and Reverend Lord Cardinals, the General Inquisitors in matters of faith and morals have judged the following propositions to be condemned and proscribed. In fact, by this general decree, they are condemned and proscribed.

Who really wrote Amoris Laetitia?

May 25, 2016

Who really wrote Amoris Laetitia?

Sandro Magister offers a very astute guess.

In his latest article on Chiesa, see here, he writes:

“Amoris Laetitia” Has a Ghostwriter. His Name Is Víctor Manuel Fernández
Startling resemblances between the key passages of the exhortation by Pope Francis and two texts from ten years ago by his main adviser. A double synod for a solution that had already been written.”

See link above for complete article. The following are excerpts with my comments in red.

Magister notes that the key passages in Amoris Laetitia, the ones which are most intentionally ambiguous, that is, the paragraphs of chapter eight that give the go-ahead for communion for the divorced and remarried have an Argentine prehistory, based as they are on a pair of articles from 2005 and 2006 by Víctor Manuel Fernández, already back then and even more today a thinker of reference for Pope Francis and the ghostwriter of his major texts.

“Heal me with your mouth.”

“During those years Fernández was professor of theology at the Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires.

“And at that same university in 2004 an international theological conference was held on “Veritatis Splendor,” the encyclical of John Paul II on “certain fundamental truths of Catholic doctrine,” decisively critical of “situational” ethics, the permissive tendency already present among the Jesuits in the 17th century and today more widespread than ever in the Church.

Magister emphasises that ‘Veritatis Splendor’  is not a minor encyclical. In 2014 Benedict XVI  cited its “unchanged relevance” and concluded that “studying and assimilating this encyclical remains a great and important duty.” In fact, Magister concluded that Pope Benedict affirms ‘Veritatis Splendor’ to be essential for “overcoming the pragmatic drift of current morality, ‘in which there no longer exists that which is truly evil and that which is truly good, but only that which, from the point of view of efficacy, is better or worse.’ ”

Malachi Martin’s Three Possibilities

In this article, we are considering possibilities proposed by Father Malachi Martin for the present and near future of the Passion of the Church.
Make a mess!

Continuing with the Coda portion of Father Malachi Martin’s book, “The Keys of This Blood”, Fr. Martin lists three possibilities, actually weaknesses, which are likely to be exploited by the enemy within the Church to destroy her. Each of the three would serve to sow doubt and confusion and scandalize the faithful, effectively disintegrating the vital unity of the Church.

The first possibility is if a sizable body of Roman Catholics, clergy and laity, become convinced, rightly or wrongly, that Pope was not elected validly.

The second is similar; if a sizable body of Catholics become convinced that the Pope has become a heretic.

In either of these cases, the primary source of disintegration in the Church would be that the Church, as designed by Her Master, lacks any earthly authority other than the pope to settle the issue decisively. As Fr. Martin expresses it,

“There is no official mechanism within the structure of the Church that is authorized to pass judgment on pope and papacy. Indeed, the Church’s official code of ecclesiastical law, canon law, expressly denies to anyone the right or duty of passing official judgment on pope or papacy.”

Now, that is, admittedly, a contentious subject and I do not expect to be allowed to let it stand. I am merely quoting Father Malachi Martin here. But perhaps most readers will agree, that even if there were a few Bishops and Cardinals who still had a staunch enough faith to stand up publicly and confront the Pope on these issues, [Such as the four Cardinals of the Dubia]  the Pope and his faction would simply rally their defenses – which are legion!

Then, do you think everything would just settle down nicely and the faith would be restored? No, the result would still be a shattered Church. Because the Pope is the key.

As we see, both of these “possibilities” foretold by Fr. Martin have come to pass, to varying extents.

The papal election has been cast into doubt, first by Ivereigh’s book and then by Cardinal Danneels, head of the so-called St. Gallen Mafia himself. And there is certainly no dearth of heretical statements and actions from this unfortunate pope. And so now, we have the catastrophe of many Catholics confused and arguing against each other, widespread disunity, a Church torn asunder. But there is an even more serious threat, the third possibility, which we alluded to in our post, “The Judas Factor and Pope Francis”.

The Mystery of Iniquity

“For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold, until he be taken out of the way.” (2 Thess, 2,7)

We repost this in order to help clarify some confusion which has arisen from our last post. Following this, we will continue the Coda and review some prophecies which will further clarify.

The Mystery of Iniquity (7 February, 2016)

Pope Francis continues to use the Year of Mercy to flog the Church towards the great 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Revolt against the Church. The irony of the Vicar of Christ proclaiming the sanctity of the archenemy of Christ seems lost amid the welter of voices battling for attention in this age of apostasy. If Pope John XXIII initiated the “beginning of sorrows” with his disobedience of Our Lady of Fatima, our Humble Pope® is certainly accelerating it…

"The Church of God will ... lie bleeding at the feet of the powers of this world."
“The Church of God will … lie bleeding at the feet of the powers of this world.”

Cardinal Manning (1808-1892) was an Anglican convert. Ordained just ten weeks after entering the Church, he became Archbishop of Westminster and then Cardinal. Manning was a strong supporter of the doctrine of infallibility in the First Vatican Council in contrast to Cardinal Newman. In “The Present Crisis in the Holy See”, Cardinal Manning warned of a grave crisis facing the Church. The book’s four chapters, “The Progress of the Mystery of Iniquity, the Antichrist, What Holds Back the Antichrist and The Apostasy of Rome“, are a solemn warning to the Church for these times.

Early in his book, Cardinal Manning states that the three notes of the Apostasy are schism, heresy and denial of the Incarnation, and concludes that all the heresies from the beginning are but the continuous development and expansion of the one “mystery of iniquity” which from the beginning wars against the mystery of the faith. Likening the heresies which have afflicted the Church to diseases, he remarks:

“To name no more than these,— Gnosticism, Arianism, and, above all, Protestantism, have generated each a multitude of subordinate and affiliated heresies. But it is Protestantism which, above all others, bears the three notes of the inspired writers in the greatest breadth and evidence. Other heresies have opposed parts and details of the Christian faith and Church; but Protestantism, taken in its historical complex, as we now are able, with the retrospect of three hundred years, to measure it, reaching from the religion of Luther, Calvin, and Cranmer at the one end, so the Rationalism and Pantheism of England and Germany at the other, is of all the most formal, detailed and commensurate antagonist of Christianity.

“I do not mean that it has as yet attained its full development, for we shall see reasons to believe that it (protestant heresy) is still pregnant with a darker future; but even as “the mystery of iniquity” has already worked, no other antagonist (than Protestantism) has as yet gone so deep in undermining the faith of the Christian world.”

Cardinal Manning thus foresaw that even in 1861, the protestant heresy was “still pregnant with a darker future”. And so it was. We have seen that after the Second Vatican Council, the heresy of modernism (in which protestantism subsists) advanced even into the highest echelons of the Catholic Church. Cardinal Manning then observed two consequences of the heretical movements of the mystery of iniquity. The first of these is the rise of nationalism and the second is the deification of man, which has become rampant since Vatican II.

St. Hermenegild, Martyr

“You are a slave of the devil because you have a false faith, you’re not Catholic! And I will not receive Holy Communion from sacrilegious hands!”

The Triumph of St. Hermenegild, Martyr for the Faith
The Triumph of St. Hermenegild, Martyr for the Faith

St. Hermenegild was a Visigoth Prince matyred for the faith in 585. He was put to death by his father, the Arian King Leovigild for holding firm to the Catholic faith. His father cast him into a dungeon and after several months, sent an Arian Bishop to him on Easter Sunday to offer him a pardon if he would accept Communion from him. By his firm refusal to yield his faith to heresy, even to his father’s heresy, he earned a martyr’s crown. His story has a particular relevance to this unique and tragic time in the Church.

A few years ago, Bishop Tissier de Mallerais gave a sermon on St. Hermenegild:

“I spoke this morning to the children about Saint Hermenegild. He was a young martyr, seventeen years old, who lived in the sixth century. He was Catholic, but his father was a heretic, an Arian. He was supposed to inherit the throne of Spain, but his father, furious that his son was a Catholic, forbade him the throne and sentenced him to prison.

“Hermenegild – whom we celebrate on April 13th, was in prison for several months as Easter approached. He wanted to receive Communion, Holy Communion for Easter. His father was thinking the same thing and sent him a bishop carrying Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament! What a joy for Hermenegild to be able to make his Easter communion! Except that when the bishop entered the prison cell, he presented himself thus: “I am the Bishop of Huesca, I am an Arian and I bring you Holy Communion!” “I am Arian,” that is to say “I am a heretic, I’m not Catholic.”
