A Russian Mystic on the Pan-Amazon Synod

Have you ever heard of Vladimir Sergeyevich Solovyov? Me neither, but Pope Benedict XVI invited Cardinal Giacomo Biffi to speak on Solovyov’s prophecies during a week long retreat at the Vatican back in 2007.

Came across an article from February, 2007 on Zenit which recounts a retreat preached at the Vatican for Pope Benedict XVI and the Curia by Cardinal Giacomo Biffi. On Tuesday of the week long retreat, the Cardinal based his meditations in part on the work of the Russian philosopher and mystic Vladimir Sergeyevich Solovyov, considered by many to be the greatest Russian philosopher.

Solovyov, who died in the year 1900 proposed the reunion of Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches under the Pope. He also foretold that the twentieth century would be a century of unparalleled horror and bloodshed. Cardianl Biffi quoted from Solovyov’s work “Three Dialogues on War, Progress and the End of History,” and  told his listeners, including Pope Benedict, that:

“the Antichrist presents himself as pacifist, ecologist and ecumenist.” …

“He will convoke an ecumenical council and will seek the consensus of all the Christian confessions, granting something to each one. The masses will follow him, with the exception of small groups of Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants,” he said. …

The Cardinal added that Solovyov says in that work: “Days will come in Christianity in which they will try to reduce the salvific event to a mere series of values.” …

Cardinal Biffi warned, “Today, in fact, we run the risk of having a Christianity which puts aside Jesus with His cross and resurrection.” …

Saint Padre Pio’s Prayer to the Immaculata

For the Pan-Amazon Synod

One of my favorite saints is Padre Pio, who is so accessible and like good Saint Joseph, never fails to come to my aid. Today let’s revisit his beautiful prayer to the Immaculata in order to make reparation to Our Lady for this upcoming Synod of Darkness and beg her intercession for the Church.

Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array?
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

St. Pio’s Prayer to the Immaculata

My most pure Mother, my soul so poor, all stained with wretchedness and sin cries out to your maternal heart. In your goodness, deign, I beseech you, to pour out on me at least a little of the grace that flowed into you with such infinite profusion from the Heart of God. Strengthened and supported by this grace, may I succeed in better loving and serving Almighty God Who filled your heart completely, and Who created the temple of your body from the moment of your Immaculate Conception.

Oh, my Mother, how ashamed I feel in your presence, weighed down as I am with faults! You are most pure and immaculate from the moment of your conception, indeed, from the moment in eternity when you were conceived in the mind of God.

Have pity on me! May one compassionate look of yours revive me, purify me and lift me up to God; raising me from the filth of this world so that I may go to Him Who created me, Who regenerated me in Holy Baptism, giving me back my white stole of innocence that original sin had so defiled. Dear Mother, make me love Him! Pour into my heart that love which burned in yours for Him. Even though I be clothed in misery, I revere the mystery of your Immaculate Conception, and I ardently wish that through it, you may purify my heart so that I may love your God and my God. Cleanse my mind that it may reach up to Him and contemplate Him and adore Him in spirit and in truth. Purify my body that I too may be a tabernacle for Him and be less unworthy of possessing Him when He deigns to come to me in Holy Communion. Amen.

St.  Pio, pray for us and for the Church!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey!
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse thee!
St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Please pray the Rosary! So many souls depend on it!

The Nations Will Rise Up Against You

“By God’s permission the nations will rise up against you; they will have vain thoughts of you; they will esteem as naught your priestly dignity and consecration. The princes of the earth will unite to cast you down. Your rulers will drive you from their territories, since your crimes have driven the innocent Lamb far from you.”   (St. Hildegard von Bingen)

Yesterday was the day in our Traditional Calendar when we honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It was also the anniversary of the day on which Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò signed his testimonial regarding the extensive corruption of the sacred priesthood by the homosexual predators which have infiltrated the Church aided and abetted by the modernist, apostate hierarchy, even up to and including Pope Francis himself.

As long-time readers know, we have posted on the dangers to the sacred priesthood since the inception of this blog several years ago, stressing the connection between the message of Fatima and the spread of heresy, apostasy and the corruption of the sacred priesthood.

I had hoped that the fact that Archbishop Viganò issued his testimonial on the traditional (true) Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary would be duly noted and celebrated as the victory of the Immaculata which it is. Even though Abp. Viganò referred to the date as the Queenship of Mary, that is the term assigned by the Novus Ordo church to replace that of the title intended by Pope Pius XII. Since 1960, the post-conciliar church has been determined to supplant and minimise devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and their efforts seem to be bearing fruit in the lack of honor to the Immaculata in her latest victory.

Rosary Novena for the Synod of Darkness

Belatedly, I offer our Rosary Novena post. I have been ill and unable to fulfill the demands of our blog and apologise. Many thanks to those kind enough to remind me! It is quite encouraging to see how many have been, on their own, contributing to an ongoing Rosary Crusade for our beleaguered Church under this latest and most determined attack by our false shepherd.

As one reader remarked, “I plan to just continue an extra Rosary a day plus adding a fast every Saturday in reparation, until this Pope converts or dies, as long as God grants me life.” My response was a heartfelt Amen.

The Rosary Novena was to have begun on August 13 and run until October 5, the eve of the Pan-Amazon Synod. And so if you have not begun, it is not too late to start, just continue on for the 54 days. The Synod will take place in Rome from October 6-28. The location is important, and situating it in Rome indicates that it is actually going to be applied to the universal Church, and not limited to the Amazon area.

To participate simply commit to one five decade Rosary each day for the intention of the triumph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in order to safeguard the Faith at the Synod.

On her sixth visit to Fatima,  Our Lady identified herself as Our Lady of the Rosary.  By claiming the title of Our Lady of the Rosary,  her title “Our Lady of Victory” was implied. For history is replete with her victories through her most Holy Rosary. (Here and here).

In earlier posts, for instance, “Fatima at 100, Presage of Victory”, we discussed that Christ the King prefers to triumph through the most Blessed Virgin Mary. In the vision of Saint John Bosco which begins with “It was a dark night”, the victory was foretold thus:

True Devotion to Saint Joseph, 2019

Well, it is time for us to break out the heavy armaments, don’t you think? Let’s renew our efforts to seek the help of our great friend and protector, Saint Joseph. There’s a very good prayer at the end I believe you may like, in case you do not have it already.

True devotion to Saint Joseph is an integral part of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and  Immaculate Heart of Mary. Indeed, the very reason for Saint Joseph’s appearance on Our Lady’s last visit to Fatima October 13, 1917 was to emphasize this devotion, which will save families in this crisis.

“We saw, beside the sun, Saint Joseph with the Child Jesus and Our Lady clothed in white with a blue mantle. Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus seemed to bless the world with gestures which they made with their hands in the form of a cross.”
(Sister Lucia of Fatima)

St. Joseph, defender of the faith, defender of families, pray for us!
St. Joseph, defender of the faith, defender of families, pray for us!

This little noted event tells us so much! Even as the miracle of the sun is occurring, St. Joseph appears, holding the Child Jesus and both bless the world. This reminds us that God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, entrusted the Child Jesus to St. Joseph. Indeed, God’s wisdom entrusted the Holy Family to the quiet man, and now, at Fatima, he is revealed to us, to bless us in this time prefigured by the miracle of the sun.

At the miracle of the sun, the earth stood firm while the sun moved erratically. How can this be? And yet it happened. How can the Church, established by Christ become so erratic as it is today, under Pope Francis? How do we reconcile that the gates of hell will not prevail and the Holy Ghost will always guide her, with what we now see? St. Joseph solved a similar conundrum and he stands ready to help us now.

Matthew 1, 18-25 tells of Joseph’s dilemma and its resolution. His example of humility and steadfastness is precisely the example for us today. Faithful Catholics are torn today between the temptation to abandon the church, or to go along with the errors of the Neo-pagan agenda of Pope Francis.

What did Joseph do when faced with an unsolvable dilemma? He turned to God in prayer and stayed with it until God gave him light. He didn’t become his own God, or in today’s terms, his own pope. Neither did he accept the unthinkable option that somehow Mary had broken her vow, but that false mercy was required on his part to simply accept unfaithfulness. That would be the spiritual sloth of today’s catholics, who simply go along to get along, and welcome unrepentant vice into the church. “Who am I to judge?”

If the Lord God entrusted the Ark of the Covenant to the keeping of St. Joseph, can we not also turn in confidence to him, secure in the knowledge that he will teach us the humility and patience to stand firm in the faith until these erratic and uncertain times are over and the Blessed Virgin clears the smoke of Satan from the Church?

In the Bible, we see that in obedience to God, St. Joseph took the child Jesus and the Blessed Virgin to Egypt in order to save them from murderous Herod. Now, Egypt was a country similar in many ways to our modern post-Christian societies, very much in the control of the Lord of the World. And yet St. Joseph kept them safe. And now he stands ready to help faithful priests guard their flocks. He helps Catholic fathers protect their families.

In 2008, Cardinal Caffara related a correspondence he had with Sister Lucia of Fatima. In her letter she said that, “the final battle between the Lord and the reign of Satan will be about marriage and the family.” “Don’t be afraid”, she added, because “anyone who works for the sanctity of marriage and the family will always be fought and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue.” And then she concluded:  “however, Our Lady has already crushed its head.”

Certainly, the Fatima vision of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus blessing us, in conjunction with Sister Lucia’s remarks to Cardinal Caffara, should give us consolation today. There is another bit of information on this subject. Solange Hertz, in her book, The Sixth Trumpet, tells us that Sister Lucia, when asked about the Third Secret confirmed that it is about Apocalypse Chapter 12. Mrs. Hertz posits that Apocalypse 12:14 may apply to us in these times.

“And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” In the mystical language of St. John in the Apocalypse, “the woman” refers to the Church, but also to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Mary is inseparably bound to the Church and St. Joseph is the Guardian of both. In Hertz’ view, the Holy Family’s sojourn in Egypt prefigures this passage, and indicates that St. Joseph is given to us in these dire times to strengthen and defend us, and to bring us safely home again.

Whatever outrage occurs at October’s Pan-Amazon Synod, we know that the Immaculate Virgin Mary has already crushed satan’s head, and in the end, her Immaculate Heart will triumph. Our job is to stand firm in the faith, and St. Joseph is our sure unfailing defender. He never has — and never will — ask us for a special day of honor for him, or a special title. He simply called us, and stands ready to help us, live our consecrations to the Immaculata and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. If we devote ourselves to the Sacred Hearts, Saint Joseph will guard and defend us and our families even as he kept the Holy Family safe so long ago.

Here is my favorite prayer of Consecration to Saint Joseph:

O my beloved Saint Joseph, adopt me as thy child, take care of my salvation, watch over me day and night, preserve me from the occasion of sin, obtain for me purity of soul and body! Through thy intercession with Jesus, rant me a spirit of sacrifice, of humility, and of self-denial, a burning love for Jesus in the most Blessed Sacrament and a sweet tender love for Mary, my Mother.
St. Joseph, be with me living, be with me dying and obtain for me a favorable judgement from Jesus, my merciful Saviour. Amen.

St. Joseph defender of the family, defender of the faith, we entrust our families and our faith to thee!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, intercede for us!

Seven Trumpets, 2019

Today, we return to a little article that we first did in 2013, right after our humble pontiff moved into the Santa Marta with his dear friends Msgr. Ricca and his “spiritual son” Gustavo Zanchetta. We repost from time to time for those just coming on board. It has been edited and updated once more at 9:43, July 23, 2019.

“And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and cast it on the earth, and there were thunders and voices and lightnings, and a great earthquake. And the seven angels, who had the seven trumpets, prepared themselves to sound the trumpet.” (Apoc. 8)

Seven Trumpets

Prior to Fatima, Our Lady appeared at Quito, La Salette, Knock and (after Fatima) at Akita, all of which had a common thread of dire warning. Even though the apparition at Knock was silent, its prophetic relevance is clear from our perspective after 50 years of modernist “renewal”.

Let’s start with Pope Paul’s Trumpets: In an interview with the Italian newspaper Avvenire, French writer Jean Guitton, a close friend of Pope Paul VI, recalled this interesting bit of history,

The False Prophet and a Synod of Darkness

Suppose for a moment that the Lamb with Two Horns, that is, the False Prophet, were to gain control of the Church. And that he himself proclaims, he is, “the guarantor of the obedience and the conformity of the Church to the will of God, to the Gospel of Christ, and to the Tradition of the Church, putting aside every personal whim, despite being by the will of Christ Himself the supreme Pastor and Teacher of all the faithful and despite enjoying supreme, full, immediate, and universal ordinary power in the Church.” (Catholic Herald, 10/19/2014)

Much of the material in the following article is taken from Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinite’s “The Whole Truth About Fatima, Vol. III”. . Ed. Note: A long time reader, Tadeu de Jesus Giatti,  has located the correct url to download this book. The link is: https://archive.org/details/TheWholeTruthAboutFatimaVol3

What is certain is that outwardly this false prophet will act as one exercising authority in the name of God and in His service, while in reality it will be completely in the service of the Beast.  It will use fire from Heaven, the authority of the papacy, the anathema, to disarm its enemies and conquer Christians. This is because the Lamb, that is, the False Prophet will then condemn what is holy and consecrate what comes from the Evil One. (The Whole Truth About Fatima, Vol III)

The looming catastrophe of the Pan-Amazon Synod, which will attempt to destroy the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the celibate priesthood  will quite possibly be enforced with a Bergoglian anathema against all who oppose it; although it will be phrased in the usual ambiguity. We can expect that the Synod will initiate the final stage in the attempted modernist overthrow of the Church, opening up the Church to frank schism and the time of heightened suffering. Worsening the crisis will be revelations of more sexual and financial scandals and the long-expected international sanctions, loss of tax exempt status and in many cases, seizure of assets. It would not be surprising to see the arrogant German apostates stripped of their wholly undeserved “Kirchensteuer” (the massive amount of tax revenue the corrupt heresiarchs rake in).

The most critical event in the forecast above (which is only a speculation, for the sake of discussion) will be  the attempt to abrogate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the attack on the sacred priesthood, both of which are attacks on the very person of Our Lord Jesus Christ. and so we could assume that this will bring us to the culmination of the Chastisement.  Consider if the present occupant of the See of Peter may not be the man to accomplish this. Perhaps it may explain his red-hot hurry to accomplish so many radical changes in such a brutal manner – he is rapidly approaching his expiry date.

THE PROPHETIC WRITINGS, A SOURCE OF PATIENCE, CONSOLATION AND HOPE

“We are here at the most extreme point of the triumph of Impiety, at the hour of the most complete victory of the  “mystery of iniquity”, as Saint Paul says, the  “mystery of the Beast”, as Saint John says (Apocalypse 17: 7). It is a bewildering mystery, this hour of the triumph of  “the Power of Darkness”; yet it belongs to the divine economy of the plan of redemption. For before the triumph of Jesus Christ comes, before His universal Kingdom is instituted, during which “the Gospel of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole world, as a witness before all peoples” (Mt. 24: 14),  “the apostasy must come”,  “the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition has to manifest himself”; the  “False Prophet”, the False Lamb must do its work of perversion  “that the Scripture may be fulfilled”, as Jesus said concerning the betrayal by Judas:  “I know whom I have chosen, but that the Scripture may be fulfilled.” (John. 13: 18)

Ed. Note: Frère Michel wrote the foregoing in about 1984-85 and see how they apply now.

And in His priestly prayer, Jesus says:  “I watched over them, and not one of them perished except the son of perdition, in order that the Scripture may be fulfilled.” (John. 17: 12) Saint Peter also, after the Ascension says:  “Brethren, the Scripture must be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit declared before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was the leader of those who arrested Jesus: inasmuch as he had been numbered among us and allotted his share in this ministry…” (Acts 1: 16)

BEHOLD, I HAVE FORETOLD IT TO YOU” (Matt. 24: 25).

“As it happened in Our Lord’s earthly life, just before the victory of His resurrection, so also this “hour of the Power of Darkness” must be accomplished in the life of His pilgrim Church. So the Scriptures warn us.  … This had to come. This worldwide apostasy, which suddenly has become the major phenomenon of our times, no longer bewilders us; we know that it was written.  It is no longer the defeat of Christianity, the proof of its weakness, the crushing argument against its divine truth… On the contrary, the literal fulfillment of the prophecies comes as a strengthening of our faith, it alone can persuade the unbeliever, and it nourishes our hope.

“These times are diabolical;  But we needed the support, the absolute security of the Divine Word to dare to say it to ourselves and declare it openly. Strong in this revelation, we understand that we must hold on and not let up, (We must) remain in “the camp of the saints”, infiltrated from every side and rotted by traitors, preserve the faith intact even when the division is introduced into our own families and into our churches. In such a situation, we reach the point of thinking that the worst is yet to come. If the hour of Satan’s final assaults has arrived, then we are not finished suffering.” (Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinite. The Whole Truth about Fatima – Vol III)

Indeed, we are not at all finished suffering! And this is why we need to redouble our prayers, especially our Rosaries and Adoration, and our sacrifices. As St. Michael the Archangel urged the children – and us! – Make of everything a sacrifice. Don’t let anything be wasted !

THE MYSTERY OF THE THIRD SECRET

Our Lady of the Rosary appearing at Fatima more than one hundred years ago  as the Woman Clothed with the Sun – “She was of light” as Lùcia said – revealed herself to her children  just before the  Red Dragon appeared  in the East.  This Red Dragon is the Ancient Adversary who calls  forth the two beasts who serve him. Thus we see The Woman appearing  to warn us and prepare us at the very hour when the first Beast of the Apocalypse was taking shape – a Beast which She came to designate and denounce by name – announced equally, in Her third Secret, the events corresponding to the third image of the triptych in chapters 12 and 13 of the Apocalypse. Sister Lùcia told us that the third Secret was in the Apocalypse, which indicates this passage concerning the apostasy of the pastors of the Church, placing themselves at the service of an impious political power – chapter 13, verses 11 to 18.

“As the Secret in its entirety describes the final combat of the forces of Evil against the Immaculate Virgin, we would find there the three satanic powers described by Saint John: in the first part, the devil himself and the vision of hell corresponding to the Dragon of the Apocalypse; in the second part, the hegemony of Russian communism corresponds to the first Beast; finally, in the third part, the apostasy and treason of many pastors of the Church correspond to the description of the false lamb, the false prophet in the service of the Beast.

Moreover, in perfect coherence with our previous demonstrations on the most probable contents of the third Secret, its conclusion, full of an invincible hope and announcing a decisive victory, confirms us in this hypothesis. After the revelation of the third Secret, the Blessed Virgin continues:  “In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world.”

“Such a triumph, announced so solemnly – and which, as we will see, is not without an evocation of the future Jerusalem, the Christendom of tomorrow, of Chapters 21 and 22 of the Apocalypse: ‘and I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God…’ (Apocalypse 21: 2) – such a triumph of itself indicates above all the spiritual significance of the tragic battle preceding it.

And its temporal expression –  “in the end” – so heavy with implications, allows us to guess the furious struggle, no doubt even the reversals and seeming total defeat that will come before the final victory of the New Eve. Does not this triumph come to close a battle which was above all Her own, the one announced in the proto-Gospel?  “She shall crush thy head.” Yes, it is she who will overcome the diabolical wave sweeping over the Church, the impiety installed even in the sanctuary, and all the obscure (occult) forces which foment apostasy. For clothed with the power of the Most High, She is more fearsome than an army in battle array:  “Fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array”, according to the words of the Canticle of Canticles (Cant. 6: 10).

The Triumph of her Immaculate Heart  is  the victory of the Faith, which defeats heresy, apostasy and corruption, restoring the Church. This will be the final triumph of the Woman of the Apocalypse, the Mother of the faithful.  Her decisive victory over the Prince of lies, instigator of all heresy, all schism, all impiety and apostasy: “Cunctas haereses tu sola interemisti in universo mundo!” You alone, O Mary Immaculate, Virgin Most Faithful have destroyed all heresies in the whole world!”

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to us through the Blessed Virgin Mary and it is through her that He wills that we return to Him.  She, the Mother of Fair Love calls us through love, with her Rosary., with our scapular and consecration. These simple remedies, so rich in graces should not be ignored!

In St. Paul’s Epistle to Ephesians, we read:

“Finally,  brethren, be strengthened in the Lord, and in the might of His power. Put you on the armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the deceits of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places. Therefore take unto you the armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and to stand in all things perfect. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of justice, And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace: In all things taking the shield of faith, wherewith you may be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the most wicked one. And take unto you the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (which is the word of God). ( Ephesians 6, 10-17)

Thank you for reading and for your many prayers; I pray for you always!

Pray the Rosary for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the salvation of souls!

†  Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
†  Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey!
†  Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
†  St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests.
†  St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Please pray for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

~ by evensong for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!

Two Anniversaries

Today, we mark two anniversaries; the first a glorious victory of the faith through martyrdom. The second, a tragic loss through the betrayal of a modernist pope. On 17 July, 1794, the sixteen virgin martyrs of Compiegne gave their lives for the true faith. And also, on the day of infamy 17 July, 1967, the pathetic Pope Paul VI betrayed the faith by abolishing the Oath Against Modernism which had been placed as a bulwark against the rising tide of heresy in the Church, thus allowing the flood of modernism which has so ravaged the faith in these past 52 years.

On this day, 17 July, in 1794, the Holy, Roman Catholic Church gained 16 Virgin Martyrs, the Discalced Carmelites of Compiegne, victims of the Masonic Revolution in France. These brave and pure women, by their holy sacrifice purchased the end of the bloody tide of public beheadings. Although the public display of gory beheadings had run its course, the Satanic Revolution has, in various forms, continued on up to the present time.  We do well to heed the example of these brave martyrs; perhaps we shall soon  be called upon to defend the faith ourselves.

Holy Martyrs of Compeigne, pray for us!
Rekindle our ardor, our bodies are the Lord’s,
We climb, we climb the scaffold and give ourselves back to the Victor.

THE SIXTEEN CARMELITE MARTYRS OF COMPIEGNE

The French Revolution reveals the titanic struggle between good and evil. During the terror, over 40,000 Frenchmen were executed just for holding fast to the Catholic Faith and objecting to the worst excesses of the Committee of Public Safety. The blood lost in the years of 1792-1794 staggers the imagination even in the retelling and the campaign against the Church was as diabolical as it was cruel.

Contemplative religious communities had been among the first targets of the fury of the French Revolution against the Catholic Church. Less than a year from May 1789 when the Revolution began with the meeting of the Estates-General, these communities had been required by law to disband. But many of them continued in being, in hiding. Among these were the community of the Carmelite nuns of Compiegne, in northeastern France not far from Paris — the fifty-third convent in France of the Carmelite sisters who followed the reform of St. Teresa of Avila, founded in 1641, noted throughout its history for fidelity and fervor. Their convent was raided in August 1790, all the property of the sisters was seized by the government, and they were forced to discard their habits and leave their house. They divided into four groups which found lodging in four different houses all near the same church in Compiegne, and for several years they were to a large extent able to continue their religious life in secret. But the intensified surveillance and searches of the “Great Terror” revealed their secret, and in June 1794 most of them were arrested and imprisoned.

They had expected this; indeed, they had prayed for it. At some time during the summer of 1792, very likely just after the events of August 10 of that year that marked the descent into the true deeps of the Revolution, their prioress, Madeleine Lidoine, whose name in religion was Teresa in honor of the founder of their order, had foreseen much of what was to come. At Easter of 1792, she told her community that, while looking through the archives she had found the account of a dream a Carmelite had in 1693. In that dream, the Sister saw the whole Community, with the exception of 2 or 3 Sisters, in glory and called to follow the Lamb. In the mind of the Prioress, this meant martyrdom and might well be a prophetic announcement of their fate.

Mother Teresa had said to her sisters: “Having meditated much on this subject, I have thought of making an act of consecration by which the Community would offer itself as a sacrifice to appease the anger of God, so that the divine peace of His Dear Son would be brought into the world, returned to the Church and the state.” The sisters discussed her proposal and when the news of the September massacres came, mingling glorious martyrdom with apostasy, the community made their offering. In July, 1794 it was to be accepted.

After their lodgings were invaded again in June, their devotional objects shattered and their tabernacle trampled underfoot by a Revolutionary who told them that their place of worship should be transformed into a dog kennel, the Carmelite sisters were taken to the Conciergerie prison, where so many of the leading victims of the guillotine had been held during their last days on earth. There they composed a canticle for their martyrdom, to be sung to the familiar tune of the Marseillaise. The original still exists, written in pencil and given to one of their fellow prisoners, a lay woman who survived.

Note the Date – June 29, 2019

Last year, on May 29, we posted  Note the date: June 29, 2018”  In that article, we explained the significance of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, on June 29 each year. For those who have not read that post, the assertion refers to the Enthronement of Lucifer in the Vatican on June 29, 1963 and then, we suggested that preliminary enthronement was completed, on June 29, 2013,  right after Jorge Bergoglio moved into the Casa Santa Marta with his dear friend, Monsignor Ricca.

My premise is that even though we cannot confirm that the enthronement was completed on June 29, 2013, the Pope’s actions on the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul each year may yield evidence of its significance, perhaps becoming an opportunity for Pope Francis to show his true allegiance and/or his defiance of Christ, the True Head of the Holy Catholic Church.

Last year on that date, Pope Francis took the opportunity to honor Bishop Toribio Ticona with the Cardinal’s hat, thus signalling his approval for Ticona’s leftist politics and Ticona’s well-known scandalous concubinage. By publicly honoring Ticona, the pope was showing his intentions for this October’s Pan-Amazon Synod, as we are beginning to see.

So, what did the Pope do this year, as the Vicar of Christ and successor of St. Peter? How did he honor the first Pope?

We are deeply indebted to Lifesite news, Diane Montagna for the following, the entire post is here.

“In an unexpected and what some in Rome are viewing as an ominous gesture, Pope Francis has given away relics of St. Peter the Apostle to an Orthodox patriarch. Following a solemn Mass on June 29, the liturgical feast of the Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul, the Pope gave a delegation representing Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople a bronze reliquary containing nine bone fragments of the first Pope.” . . .

“Pope Francis told (Archbishop Job of Telmessos): “I no longer live in the Apostolic Palace, I never use this chapel, I never [celebrate] Holy Mass here, and we have St. Peter’s relics in the basilica itself, so it will be better if they will be kept in Constantinople.” . . .

“Admitting to being somewhat taken aback by the Pope’s decision, Archbishop Job said: “This is an extraordinary and unexpected event that we did not expect. The relics of the Holy Apostle Peter were always kept in Rome where they were the purpose of pilgrimages. The Orthodox Church has never asked for them since they never belonged to the Church of Constantinople,”

St. Peter’s Protection Leaving Rome

Diane Montagna added, quoting unnamed sources in the Vatican: “… some observers view the gesture as an ominous sign for the Church and for Rome.

“Pope Francis literally gave St. Peter away,” one source in Rome told LifeSite. “Incredible as a gesture.”

“The relics were in the Pope’s private chapel,” a priest noted. “He clearly prefers to make a ‘gesture’ of the relics than to pray before them and receive special graces from his patron, the first Pope.” “It is an entirely secular way of thinking, and what he reaps — secularization — he will sow for the whole Church, in a way no one expects,” he added.

In comments to LifeSite, another priest in Rome noted how important “locus,” i.e. place, is in Catholic thought, and added that it was the Lord’s will that Peter be martyred in Rome.

The priest pointed out that Christian art and literature have depicted Peter fleeing crucifixion in Rome during Emperor Nero’s persecution. According to a Christian tradition, on a road outside the city, Peter met the risen Jesus. In the Latin translation, Peter asks Jesus, “Quo vadis, Domine?,” to which the risen Lord responds: “Romam eo iterum crucifigi” (“I am going to Rome to be crucified again”). The vision gave Peter the courage to return to the city, where he was martyred by being crucified upside down.

“I strongly suspect this is a sign that St. Peter’s protection will be leaving the Vatican,” an observer in Rome said. “What to watch for next: Francis gives relics of St Paul to Protestants. It would be in the same line as the logic of this move. And it would further remove divine protection, preparing St Peter’s for a devastation not seen since the sack of Rome in the 1500s.” . . .

“Often signs are given to us,” one observer commented on Twitter following the news.

“St. Peter leaving Rome for the East means only one [thing]: the judgment has been passed upon Rome.”

Dropping Roses

Readers, a post on my blog makes as much impact as dropping a rose down the abyss of the Grand Canyon. It is an utterly pointless endeavor for me, and so, forgive me for begging, but beg I must. I do not ask that you try to gain the attention of the powerful bloggers. They block me for a reason and we must accept that as the way of the world. So what can be done?

I ask only that you try to get those you know to consider that we do truly have a man occupying the papacy, in control of the  pure and holy Bride of Christ, the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, who is determined to destroy it. Giving the sacred relics of the first Pope, Saint Peter, to schismatics who reject the Papacy, is an extremely significant event. We need to try our best to get others to pray and to add to their prayers sacrifices, making reparation, pray to Our Lady of the Rosary, entrust to her Immaculate Heart to come to the aid of the Church in this time of dire need.

With this highly symbolic event, the pope signifies his intention to complete the decapitation of the church, the dethroning of the papacy. He had earlier (I do not have the quote at hand right now) said that the monarchy must go. Destruction of the papacy, that is the monarchical structure, is essential to destroy the Church as Father Malachi Martin pointed out and we have cited in many posts.

Soon we will have the Pan-Amazon Synod when the pope’s men will further destroy the structure of the church in her Mass, sacraments and especially, her sacred priesthood, thus fulfilling Cardinal Manning’s ominous prophecy as we wrote inCardinal Manning on Bergoglio’s Reformation“:

“The Word of God tells us that towards the end of time the power of this world will became so irresistible and so triumphant that the Church of God will sink underneath its hand … It will be deprived of protection. It will be weakened, baffled, and prostrate, and will lie bleeding at the feet of the powers of this world.”

We have discussed this extensively in our earlier posts, and all ignored.  Judas Complex and Pope Francis,  Malachi Martin’s Three Possibilities. and many others.

For Love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 2019

Today, we have a new post to honor the most Sacred Heart of Jesus on this, His feast day.

True Devotion and the Image of the Sacred Heart

Our Lord gave us the image of His Sacred Heart in order to awaken in us the realization of His immense love and to arouse our love for Him in return. This became even more urgent as the errors of Protestantism began to drag so many souls to perdition. In Our Lord’s revelations to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, we see that veneration of the image of His Sacred Heart was an essential portion of His revelations.

Today, we will consider briefly the components of this veneration of the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

From Saint Margaret Mary herself:

“One day, on the Feast of St. John the Evangelist, after having received from my Divine Saviour a favor similar to that bestowed upon the Beloved Disciple, of reposing on the bosom of Our Lord, the Divine Heart was represented to me on a throne of fire and flames, shedding on every side rays brighter than the sun and transparent as crystal. The Wound which He had received upon the Cross appeared there visibly; a crown of thorns encircled the adorable Heart, and It was surmounted by a cross. “These instruments of His Passion signified, as my Divine Master gave me to understand, that it was His unbounded love for man which had been the source of all His sufferings.

From the first moment of His Incarnation all these torments had been planted in His Heart. From that moment He accepted all the pains and humiliations which His Sacred Humanity was to suffer during the whole course of His mortal life, and even the outrages to which His love for man would expose Him till the end of time in the Blessed Sacrament.

He revealed to me afterwards that it was the great desire of disclosing to mankind His Heart, and of giving them in these ‘latter times’ this last proof of His love, that induced Him to propose to them an object and a means so calculated to win their love. He opens to them His Sacred Heart with all the treasures of love, mercy and graces of sanctification and salvation which It contains.”

Promises to those who venerate the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

There is a widely circulated list of promises of Our Lord for those who venerate the image of His Sacred Heart. Since it is easily found, I will not copy it, but prefer to limit my words to that which I discern in the saint’s own writings.

According to St. Margaret Mary, “He promised to pour into the hearts of all who would venerate His image the fullness of gifts with which His Sacred Heart abounds, saying that wherever this image would be exposed for special veneration, it would draw down upon the place every kind of blessing.” Furthermore, He promised that all who would contribute to afford Him this joy would be blessed with graces of sanctification and salvation in superabundant measure. St. Margaret Mary wrote to a superior who caused the first picture of the Sacred Heart to be drawn: “For this service Our Lord will engrave your name in His Heart ineffaceably; the other rewards I am not permitted to reveal to you.”

The sentiments which a picture of the Sacred Heart should incite in our souls may easily be inferred from the symbols with which our blessed Lord Himself wished to surround this image.

Flames Issuing from the Heart of Jesus

First, the flames bursting forth and enveloping It show the vehement love with which It loves us. “Behold this Heart that has loved men so much!”  In order to conquer our indifference and to leave no excuse for ignorance, He discloses to us His Divine Heart, His strong desire being to inflame us with a grateful return of love. “Son, give Me thy heart!” He pleads to all. The love He demands is a practical, sacrificial love of complete devotion to Him. This burning love of His desires no less than to kindle fire of the same love in our own hearts.

When we see an image of the Sacred Heart, it beckons us to respond with an act of love,  “O my Jesus, I love Thee, I give Thee my heart; give me Thy holy love!” Just a simple act of love like this is of immense merit and gives our loving Savior so much consolation in this great Passion of the Church.

St. Aloysius Gonzaga, by interior acts of love, rose in a short time to an astonishing degree of sanctity. Nothing dispels Satan more quickly when he tempts us than an efficacious act of love. Hence, St. Francis de Sales advises us to make acts of love in time of temptation.

The Heart of Jesus Encircled With the Crown of Thorns

The crown of thorns encircling the Heart of Jesus typifies the injuries inflicted upon It by the ingratitude Our Lord receives in return for His love. Today, even so-called faithful Catholics are largely indifferent to the suffering of Jesus Christ in this Passion. They are far more concerned, often, for the humiliation they suffer at the hands of the apostates who have become the visible facade of the faith. There is no shortage of scandal and outrage over the auto-demolition of the church. But there is a great danger that we overlook whose Church this really is — we must not forget that this Church is the beautiful and pure Bride of Our Lord Jesus Christ! let us not lose sight of that! Let us promise that we, at least, will not place the thorns of indifference in Our Lord’s most Sacred Heart!

Jesus gave us the Sacrament of His love to be the food of our soul. But in this Blessed Sacrament, the most painful wounds are inflicted on His Sacred Heart! “Behold the Heart that has loved men so much that It has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming Itself, in order to testify to them Its love. But in return I receive from the greater part of mankind only ingratitude, by reason of the contempt, irreverence, sacrilege and coldness shown Me in this Sacrament of Love. And what I feel still more painfully is that hearts consecrated to Me treat Me thus!”

Our Lord revealed the devotion to His Sacred Heart especially to obtain reparation and atonement. For this reason He appeared in the Sacred Host to St. Margaret Mary and united this devotion most intimately with devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Those who venerate the Sacred Heart of Jesus should have great devotion to the Holy Eucharist. Our Lord desires especially the Communion of Reparation. Without reparation, devotion to His Sacred Heart would not be complete.

The Heart of Jesus Surmounted by a Cross

The Cross surmounting the Heart of Jesus is a further testimony of Our Lord’s love for us; it reminds us particularly of His bitter Passion and Death. Today, in this Passion of the Church, reverence for the Cross is essential as the token of His Passion. This cross, planted in His Sacred Heart beckons to us to come and do likewise: and so we take up our crosses allowing our hearts to be consumed with love for Him. Many saints are represented holding a crucifix in their hands as a sign of their special devotion to the sufferings of Christ. Holy Church numbers among her saints more than 60 persons who bore the sacred stigmata in their body.

Countless are the revelations of saints regarding the precious graces connected with devotion to the Passion of our Saviour. Our Lord once said to Blessed Angela of Foligno: “Those who seriously meditate on My Passion are in truth My children; the others are so in name only.” St. Augustine declares: “A single tear shed in remembrance of the sufferings of Christ is of more value than a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, or a year’s fasting on bread and water, if it be not performed with the same love.” On this account our Divine Saviour wishes the devotion to His Sacred Heart to be practiced especially on Fridays. On that day He gave the highest proof of His love, and we should make Him a return of love by patience in our sufferings. Love for the Cross is the fruit of true devotion to the Sacred Heart. The perfection of love consists in pure suffering for the Beloved.

The Wound in the Heart of Jesus

Devotion to the Heart of Jesus originated the moment when that Divine Heart was pierced with the lance. In this adorable Heart, sacred mysteries lie hidden, and in contemplating them, we grow in grace and devotion.

St. Margaret Mary understood this well, for when she drew the first little image of the Sacred Heart, she represented It with a gaping wound, in which she inscribed the word: “Caritas.” St. Frances of Rome relates that once she beheld the Wound of the Heart of Jesus, from which gushed forth a stream of living water. At the same time she heard these words: “I am Love crying aloud: ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.’ I will satiate those who follow My invitation; it is just for this reason that I permitted My Heart to be pierced, that I might be able to receive all therein as in a place of refuge.”

A remarkable passage of the Apocalypse which has been quoted as applicable to our times is “Behold, I have caused a door to be opened before thee, which no one can shut.” (Apoc. 3:8). The Wound of the Heart of Jesus is this wide-open door of salvation for the whole world, this secure place of refuge for repentant sinners.

This Wound is a fountain of immeasurable grace and consolation. To those who venerate His Sacred Heart, our Divine Saviour imparts the Precious Blood and water which issued from His side, that they may offer It unceasingly to the Heavenly Father in expiation for their sins and those of the whole world. Through this offering we can obtain numberless graces for ourselves and others. We should, every morning, place our sufferings, prayers and labors in the pierced Heart of Jesus; there everything will be purified and perfected. The Heart of Jesus Surrounded by Rays of Light Rays of light always envelop representations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. These rays, which dart in every direction, signify the great graces and blessings which emanate from devotion to the Sacred Heart. Most liberal are the promises made by Our Lord to those who venerate His Divine Heart. “Announce it, and let it be announced to the whole world,” He revealed to St. Margaret Mary, “that I set neither limit nor measure to My gifts of grace for those who seek them in My Heart!” This Divine Heart is a superabundant treasure house of all graces necessary for true conversion and He opens up this Heart to all who seek conversion in humility and confidence in Him.

St. Margaret Mary writes: “I know of no devotion better suited to lead a soul in a short time to the summit of perfection.” The Heart of Jesus is the mine and treasure house of graces. However, Our Lord promised not only spiritual favors to those who venerate His Heart, but also aid and comfort in all sufferings. No soul, howsoever abandoned, will fail to find peace and consolation in the Divine Heart. No misfortune is so bitter and hopeless but that the Sacred Heart can change and direct it all for the best.

Our Lord made a very consoling promiser those who promote devotion to His Sacred Heart: “Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be blotted out. “  This is the promise of the grace of final perseverance, the grace of predilection. It promises to those who promote devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus eternal happiness.

The above thoughts are paraphrased from a very old brochure of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was issued anonymously as True Devotion to the Image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Dear Readers, if we wish to model our own hearts on this most generous and loving heart of our dear Jesus, we cannot set limits, but must open our own hearts up to a total oblation of love for His most Sacred Heart. And how is this done? We return to the words of Our Lord Himself: “Learn of Me, for I am meek and humble of heart.” Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen explains that it is only thus, by removing the self-love and pride from our heart that we open up our hearts.

By meekness, we understand the importance of conquering anger — now, this anger is all-pervasive in our culture at this time. This world fairly scintillates and shimmers with the diabolical flames of anger It is by meekness that we overcome the petty irritations that arise from the abrasive wounds to our “ego”. You see here, the close connection between meekness and humility.

It takes only a bit of pride, self-love or attachment to our own opinion to make us unable to withstand opposition. This is perfectly evident in others. We see it quite clearly! But in ourselves, it is a struggle to see, and a valuable gift we must beg Our Lord to help us attain. This is where the Immaculata helps us. We ask her for this grace especially, so that we may not be a burden on Our Dear Lord who suffers so greatly now, but may, by imitating her meek and humble love, offer Him a pleasing repose with us, Great Sacred Heart to little heart!

In closing, please never forget this: We can only lose by quitting! Let us resolve never to surrender, never to stop trying to offer all our heart, all our love to the Sacred heart of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Most Sacred heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom come , Thy will be done!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

Pray the Rosary!
