By all means, let us tweet

A reader recently forwarded one of those circular email blog posts that make the rounds these days. The following response is definitely not an attack on the person(s) who wrote it. It is an attempt to respond to the secularized faith behind it. The crisis in the Church is the result of the disobedience of the Popes (and the hierarchy) to the message of the Mother of God at Fatima. Thus, it is above all, a spiritual crisis and any effective response must be based on obedience to Mary’s requests, not indifferent to them.

Today, wherever the Catholic faith still exists, there is a class of paid professional Catholics, that is, those who earn a living interpreting events in the Church and in the world from a Catholic perspective and passing their wisdom along to the rest of us, presumably to aid us as we strive to serve God and save our souls. And so I read the following quotes and responded.

The article urged readers to “use every means of social communication” to prod the pope to respond to the Dubia. It also stated that, “… precisely because the pope has not spoken, the Church is facing a crisis”, and “we have to keep asking the pope to clarify what he means, and in the meantime share our own opinion about AL in whatever mediums are available to us.

Maybe it was because I was exhausted, it was 2 am and I was late for Matins, but reading it caused me to respond in an acerbic manner that really was uncharitable. I apologise for those remarks and have toned the following down a bit.

My first thought on reading the email article was, “Oh! If only everyone would just tweet their own opinions on Amoris Laetitia, we could finally clear up  this smoke of satan! ” I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Then, the writer’s insistence that Pope Francis “has not spoken” struck me. Readers, Pope Francis has spoken. Over. and. over. and. over.  Why cannot these leading Catholic professionals see the big, modernist elephant in the room?

Make a mess!

And yet, Pope Francis has done nothing more than continue the trajectory set by the Second Vatican Council. And that disastrous Council simply fulfilled the warning of the Mother of God in her message at Fatima.

Many Catholics today cannot help their confusion. It is the completely logical withdrawal of God’s grace which happens when one falls away from friendship with God. We do that when we disobey Him. When the popes failed to obey, beginning with Pius XI, grace began ebbing away from the Church, By John XXIII’s pontificate, it was much clearer, just as Sister Lucia foretold. Pope John XXIII has the distinction of being the first pope to openly, publicly defy the Blessed Virgin Mary and also her Son!

“… except you do penance, you shall all likewise perish.(Luke 13, 5)

The disobedience of the Popes and the vast majority of the Catholic hierarchy caused the spiritual chastisement, but it is deepened, and grace continues to ebb insofar as rank and file Catholics refuse to respond to this deep spiritual crisis with the appropriate reparation. God has given us an absolutely horrid spiritual chastisement and yet most Catholics are indifferent to the spiritual basis of the crisis. They have become secularized. With the loss of grace, ebbs the faith…

And so, the world is spinning on its merry way, murdering helpless babies and trafficking in their body parts, “mercifully” ending the lives of the elderly and ill and soon, anyone who is not politically correct or is deemed unproductive, and institutionalizing sodomy and child abuse with the new Bergoglian Reformed Church leading the way.

And what are our professional Catholic leaders telling us? They offer us the deep spiritual weapons of social media. Use Twitter, Facebook, email and any other means at your disposal to “share your opinion”. What do you think? Would John the Baptist instead of warning us,  “Repent, the Kingdom of God is at hand”,  text us, “Get out there and Tweet! Your very souls depend on it! ” St. Paul, were he here today, would he email urgent epistles warning the faithful that unless they spread their own opinions far and wide, their souls were in danger?

Our Catholic hierarchy, as I have often remarked, is in a spiritual darkness today because of the disobedience of the popes in the last century, which has vastly accelerated because of their own disobedience. The truth about Our Lady’s requests at Fatima is available to them, but they reject it because of  their modernist mindset that “Fatima is a private revelation”. They simply refuse to obey and so they continue to bumble about, never quite effective in their feeble attempts to address the auto-demolition of the faith.

“… except you do penance, you shall all likewise perish.

As an example, I offer Cardinal Burke, the hero of the Dubia. A good man, he urged faithful Catholics to  “storm heaven” by joining with him once a month in the Mass and the Rosary to pray for hope and guidance out of the Church’s current “confusion.” And this is done in the name of Fatima! Note, not the First Saturdays of Reparation that Our Lady asked for, no, not at all. But first days. Tragic.

Please pray and offer penance that faithful Catholics will wake up and grasp the fact that the solution is as simple as obeying Our Lady of Fatima, following her commands in humility and obedience, not following her “in our own way”! It is futile to continue to “use social media” to combat this. In anticipation of the usual comments, I am not opposed to social media, however you must know the truth that our hierarchy and well paid Catholic talking heads ignore: “… except you do penance, you shall all likewise perish.(Luke 13, 5)

Those who assume that they can dispel the smoke of satan by any activity whatsoever that is not based firmly upon obedience to the Mother of God in her revelations to Sister Lucia are tragically mistaken.

With every act of indifference or outright disobedience to the command of God through the Blessed Virgin Mary, grace is ebbing away from this sad, tired world. The darkness deepens and in this confusion, we too can become disheartened; but look, there is One Who always welcomes us, He has adopted us and now we call His Mother ours. Come, take up your rosary and join us …

Please, more than ever, pray the Rosary and confound satan and those who serve him.

“… except you do penance, you shall all likewise perish.(Luke 13, 5)

“If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts..” (Psalm 94, from Matins, Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary)

~ evensong, for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin, give me strength against thine enemies!

Satan’s Presence in Our Midst

“The pervasive confusion and grave error about the most fundamental truths, the most beautiful realities, and the lasting goods of human life and its cradle, the human family, as they come to us from the hand of God, are the tragic signs of Satan’s presence in our midst. When we see how he has succeeded in corrupting a culture which was once Christian and in sowing the seeds of confusion and error even within the Church herself, we can easily become frightened and discouraged. But, as Saint Augustine and his companions knew and preached, there is another presence which always conquers Satan. It is the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in His holy Church and, most perfectly and fully of all, in the Most Blessed Sacrament: His Real Presence.” (Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, 9 March 2015 at the Shrine of St. Augustine, Ramsgate.)

"I shall resist, I can do nothing else."
“I shall resist, I can do nothing else.”

We offer a brief excerpt of Cardinal Burke’s inspiring remarks, for the complete article, please refer to the original at Voice of the Family.

Surely, too, we are conscious of the great challenges in living the apostolic faith in our time. Truly, Satan, “a murderer from the beginning” and “the father of lies”, cannot stand the truth and love of Christ shining forth in His holy Church. He never takes repose from his deceitful and hateful labors. He is always trying to corrupt the truth, the beauty and the goodness which Christ never ceases to pour forth into our Christian souls from His glorious pierced Heart. The pervasive confusion and grave error about the most fundamental truths, the most beautiful realities, and the lasting goods of human life and its cradle, the human family, as they come to us from the hand of God, are the tragic signs of Satan’s presence in our midst. When we see how he has succeeded in corrupting a culture which was once Christian and in sowing the seeds of confusion and error even within the Church herself, we can easily become frightened and discouraged.

But, as Saint Augustine and his companions knew and preached, there is another presence which always conquers Satan. It is the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in His holy Church and, most perfectly and fully of all, in the Most Blessed Sacrament: His Real Presence. Holding fast to Christ and to His truth and love, even in the face of persecution, the victory over sin, the victory of eternal life will surely be ours. Our Lord Himself, when he placed his Church upon the solid foundation of the Petrine Office, promised us that the forces of evil would not prevail against her. The last chapter of the history of the Church is already written. It is the story of the victory of Christ, when he returns in glory to bring to consummation his saving work, to inaugurate “a new heaven and a new earth.” The intervening chapters are ours to write, with Christ and as His faithful and generous disciples. They will certainly be the story of suffering for the truth and love of Christ, but they will also always be the story of divine grace at work in every Christian soul, filling it with joy and peace even in the face of great suffering and death itself. Let us not give way to fear or discouragement, but let us, with Saint Paul, rejoice to fill out in our time the sufferings of Christ for the glory of God and for the salvation of the world.

Christ now makes sacramentally present His Sacrifice on Calvary. Christ now offers to us the great fruit of His Sacrifice, which He first offered to the Apostles at the Last Supper and which Saint Augustine brought to England in 597: the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ Who alone is the Savior of the world. As the glorious Christ descends to the altar of this great sanctuary, let us lift up our hearts to His glorious pierced Heart. As He offers up His life for us in the Eucharistic Sacrifice, let us, with Him, offer our lives as an oblation of love to God the Father for the salvation of all our brothers and sisters. With the Virgin Mary, Mary of the Annunciation venerated as Our Lady of Walsingham on this beloved island, let us be one in heart with the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. In the Heart of Jesus our hearts will find the courage and strength to remain true to the apostolic faith for the glory of God and for the salvation of England and of all the world.

Heart of Jesus, salvation of those who trust in Thee, have mercy on us.
Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, Husband of Mary and Foster-Father of Jesus, pray for us.
Saint Gregory the Great, pray for us.
Saint Augustine, Apostle of England, pray for us.

Raymond Leo Cardinal BURKE

We, Too, Will Resist

“I will resist”: Burke affirms
February 07, 2015 District of the USA

Some frank answers from Cardinal Burke during a French TV interview that will be broadcasted on Sunday, February 8th.

"I shall resist, I can do nothing else."
“I shall resist, I can do nothing else.”

We present here some extracts of Cardinal Raymond Burke’s comments given during an interview conducted by Lionel Feuerstein, Karine Comazzi, Patrice Brugeres, Nicolas Berthelos and Claire Aubinais for the “13H15 le dimanche” episode of French Television channel, France2.

The complete interview will be broadcasted on Sunday, February 8 on FranceTV.info.

Cardinal Burke: I cannot accept that Communion can be given to a person in an irregular union because it is adultery. On the question of people of the same sex, this has nothing to do with marriage. This is an affliction suffered by some people whereby they are attracted against nature sexually to people of the same sex.

Question: If perchance the pope will persist in this direction, what will you do?
Cardinal Burke: I shall resist, I can do nothing else. There is no doubt that it is a difficult time; this is clear, this is clear.

Question: Painful?
Cardinal Burke: Yes.

Question: Worrisome?
Cardinal Burke: Yes.

Question: In your opinion, can we say today that the Catholic Church as an institution is threatened?
Cardinal Burke: The Lord has assured us, as He has assured St. Peter in the Gospel, that the powers of evil will not prevail, “non praevalebunt” as we say in Latin, that the forces of evil will not have victory over the Church.

Question of the end: Is the Pope still your friend?
Cardinal Burke (with a smile): I would not want to make the pope an enemy for sure. That is fine for now. [from the context: “That is enough for this interview”].

From: SSPX.org.

I have watched the video and am impressed by the Cardinal’s sincerity and obvious pain over this crisis. As Roberto de Mattei pointed out, we have had erring popes before in our 2,000 year history, but now, there are few strong men to defend the ancient dogmas of the faith. Cardinal Burke is bravely coming forward as the single Prelate willing to risk all to defend the faith against this most serious challenge to the faith.

Pray God bless Cardinal Burke and Mary keep him close to her Immaculate Heart!
