“Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabacthani”

My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?
My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?

As yesterday’s post emphasized, we are called to stand at the foot of the Cross, to witness the suffering of Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Mystical Body. We are called to unite our own sufferings with those of Our Lord and His Sorrowful Mother. We cannot fulfill our duty to them if we numb our minds with spiritual glurge from the mainstream media and turn away from the unpleasant truths of what is occurring right now within the very Holy of Holies of the Faith.

You must open your eyes and see, see with your mind certainly, but also with your Catholic heart, the filth that has invaded the faith! See the detestable perversion and blasphemy being promoted in the name of a diabolical “mercy” that “loves sinners” while condemning Catholics in their own Church. A love that contradicts justice is no love at all but a diabolical perversion and yet this is the official stance of the Bishop of Rome.

We must not turn aside from our vigil, but must observe and make reparation for all the insults to our loving Savior. You cannot do that if you are busily being misinformed by the so-called Catholic media. For example, recently Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta made use of his control of Atlanta’s landmark Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in support of the disgusting perversion of the annual Atlanta Gay Pride Parade. You will not find any outrage from the mainstream Catholic media. Their readers will continue to be lulled into somnolent passivity. Consequently, they are unable to offer reparation to Our Lord. And reparation is essential! Consider for a moment how Our Lady must feel to have her own shrine used in such a way. And then make reparation.

You cannot sleep through this crisis of the faith! Avoid Catholic “info-tainment”  and get informed. It is painful, certainly, to face the daily deluge of offenses to the faith.  It pushes one to despair constantly, but we keep in mind that this is our “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabacthani” moment and the tide will soon turn. We must endure it all, every hateful bit of the attack on Him, the insults to the honor of Our Blessed Mother, all of it, to the bitter dregs so that we can bear, with them, and rise with them. “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph”. Support the true resistance (not the sedes!) by reading their articles and passing on to others, buying their books, and above all, by prayer and sacrifice. Stand with those who are every day attacked by apostate clergy and affirm the truth at every opportunity. Speak only the truth, never platitudes, without compromise.

As if this weren’t difficult enough, we must never fail in charity. Today, many traditional writers do an excellent job of reporting the evils and insults to the faith, but they sometimes lapse in charity. When we consider carefully, we understand that all those who are most hardened in sin, most determined to remake the church in their image, are most needful of our prayers and reparation. Francis is still, after all, the Pope, even though he despises the faithful he is called to serve, even though his words and actions imperil the faith of millions. And so we respect the office while simultaneously alerting others to his errors.

In this battle for the soul of the Church, we must resist the all-pervasive deceit pushed by the Bishops and their media. We cannot drift into complacency. “Then He saith to them: My soul is sorrowful even unto death: stay you here, and watch with Me.” (Matt. 26,38)  “Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe, and do penance. If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.” (Apoc. 3,3).

Pray for the Pope, pray for the clergy. Time is fleeting, Hell is everlasting.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

Viva Cristo Rey!

On Golgotha

Because my little blog is not very well known, most of the comments come to me by email or in person. Almost invariably, they are made by older Catholics, who have rediscovered the traditional Latin Mass and love it but are experiencing some level of cognitive dissonance over the changes they are confronted with. I always try to answer their concerns, but often find that I am unequal to the task. This post is my probably inadequate attempt to answer in a reasoned manner without, I hope, getting exasperated.

To begin, cognitive dissonance is what happens when we experience conflict between two opposing thoughts or perceptions. In Catholics, with regard to our faith,  it is often related to guilt. Perhaps a bit of my own experience will help explain.

I left the Church a couple decades after Vatican II because I could not reconcile the conflict between what I had been taught as the infallibly proclaimed teaching of our faith, and what the post-conciliar church was teaching and practicing. I chose to hold to the truths of the faith rather than follow the external practices that conflicted with it. In time, Our Blessed Mother brought me back to the full practice of the faith. She did this, I believe, because I never left off praying the Rosary, never stopped asking her to show me how to serve Our Lord. I would not, could not compromise what I knew to be the unchanging truth of the faith and so had to reject the ever-evolving Novus Ordo Church.

I’ve related in other posts how I found The Remnant, and Catholic Family News and Father Gruner’s Fatima Apostolate and eventually the true Mass of all times. In doing so, it became glaringly obvious that the view of the Church portrayed by EWTN, and “mainstream Catholic media” such as Catholic Answers and others, was deceptive. It presents a portion of the truth wrapped around omissions or even deceptions, and that is more harmful than the outright heterodoxy of the openly “progressive” Catholic media.

In this post, I am trying to explain my position as clearly as possible.

Today, we are at Golgotha. Our Lord Jesus Christ is being crucified anew in His Mystical Body as satan’s minions have infiltrated the Church, all the way to the top. There is no point in disputing the fine points of canon law, whether or not Francis is actually pope, whether or not SSPX is actually excommunicated, whether or not the canonizations are infallible.

Let’s just get this straight. The Pope as you see him, Pope Francis does not speak the Catholic faith, nor does he preach the Catholic faith. There is no visible sign that he is a Catholic other than the trappings of the office. We cannot discern the thoughts of his heart, but it is manifestly evident by his words and his actions that he rejects the infallibly proclaimed doctrine of the faith and is actively promoting changes that will, if successful, destroy the faith.

The Bishops of the United States and most other countries have refused to teach the true Faith to several generations of Catholics. This is a terribly grievous sin. While they were neglecting their primary duty to teach and defend the faith, they were busily promoting and passing around and covering up for, sodomites in the guise of Catholic priests. These men, while practicing a mortal sin, continued to act “in persona Christi”, compounding their sins, and destroying the faith of millions.

Most Catholics today do not know their faith. It is your obligation to seek the full truth of the faith. You must decide for yourself who to listen to, who to rely on. Will it be those who stand up for the faith of all times, or those who nest in the false faith of Vatican II and snipe at them?

Whenever the faithful have attempted to attend SSPX Chapels, the Bishops have condemned them harshly, blasting out excommunications. This excommunications and condemnations were reserved, it seems, for loyal, faithful Catholics who only sought to practice the faith in the same way as had all the faithful prior to the apostasies of Vatican II.

For Catholics to pontificate on whether or not it is acceptable to criticize the Pope, when, in point of fact, this pope contradicts the teaching even of the popes he just canonized, is just laughable. We have a pope who scandalizes the faithful, indeed, he condemns them every time he speaks. And we are being uncatholic to mention that he is speaking uncatholic nonsense? Really?

You have a choice, continue to rely on soothing platitudes from the mainstream Catholic media or seek know the truth. To me it is clear, the hierarchy of the Church are the ones shouting “Crucify Him” and we can attend this sorry spectacle, not averting our eyes from any sordid detail, while adoring Our Savior and sharing with Him our sorrow, or we can look away, enjoying soothing, calming pablum, feeling oh so very “spiritual” as we watch the Rosary prayed on EWTN and enjoying the latest witty screed against the hateful old crypto-Lefebvrists and rad-trads, who are excommunicated after all.

OK, one more point. No, I do not think the Holy Spirit is guiding this pope, nor do I care what is in his heart. As I watch him pushing the sodomite agenda with all his brutal determination, I cannot reconcile the dissonance in any other way than to say, I do not see a Vicar of Christ humbly obeying the Holy Spirit and safeguarding the deposit of faith. Therefore, no, this pope is not obeying the Holy Spirit. I do not believe that God will let this affront stand. God will win this battle, and I want to be on the winning side. Therefore, I stand with the truth of the faith, and not with the pope who is against the faith.

I believe that at Fatima, God sent the Blessed Virgin Mary to warn us of His displeasure and show us a way to return to His favor, a way of humility, obedience and penance. The popes disobeyed and their understanding was darkened. The biblical basis for this is extensive. Look it up. It is the only explanation that makes sense. The sin committed by the Popes in disobeying the Mother of God is a sin against the Holy Spirit, resulting in spiritual darkness. That is why we are urged by the Fatima message to pray for the pope. Our penance and prayers are the only means of seeking God’s mercy for this unfortunate man.

God is faithful, it is we who have failed and we can only remedy this by steadfastly seeking and serving the truth of our faith. We do this while clinging to the Blessed Virgin Mary and conforming to her will in all things. We do NOT do this by seeking our own will, especially not by seeking out partial truths that soothe us and help us avoid the stark reality. We must face reality, so that we can stand with Our Lady at the foot of the Cross.

This is the best I can do. I don’t have any pablum. It’s rough. It’s our very own Calvary. Pay attention.

Pray the Rosary and confound the devil!

Sweet Heart of Mary, make me thine!
