The Message of Fatima – More Important Than Ever

In previous posts, see here, here, and  here,  we’ve often spoken of the Message of Fatima. It is urgent that, with the passing of Father Gruner, the message be taken to heart with renewed dedication by all the thousands of faithful Catholics who have learned so much from Father over these past years.

Father Gruner’s life was dedicated to preaching to all who would hear the urgency of sacrifice and prayer for the Consecration of Russia which is the remedy offered by Our Lady of Fatima for these times of darkness and dissolution in the church and in the world. In Father’s memory then, let’s recap a few important points:

How shall we achieve the Consecration of Russia?

  • By our personal acts of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of His Dear Mother, Our Lady.
  • By our daily rosary for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and through her, of Christ the King.
  • By our daily sacrifices in loving reparation for sins against the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary.
  • By our wearing of Our Lady’s own Scapular of Mount Carmel.
  • By practicing the devotion of the First Saturdays of Reparation.
  • By promoting the entire Message of Fatima by example and by sharing the information regarding these devotions and the Message of Fatima with others.
  • And lastly by always seeking to be informed and knowledgeable regarding the doctrines and practices of the Faith and the ways they are being threatened and undermined today by enemies within and without the Church.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA

The Consecration of Russia, if it were properly done by the Pope in unison with the Bishops of the Church would serve several purposes.

  • It is an act that must be initiated and commanded by the Pope personally, therefore it would correct the Vatican II error of collegiality.
  • It would assert the Pope’s authority over Russia, thus correcting the Orthodox schism.
  • Such an act would indicate the mediation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, thus correcting Vatican II’s error of false ecumenism with protestant heretics.
  • The Consecration of Russia as requested by the Blessed Virgin indicates the goal of conversion of Russia to the true faith, thus correcting the Vatican II error of religious liberty.
  • If the Pope were to promote the devotion of the First Saturdays it would provide a strong instruction to the world that sin offends God and that we must pray and make reparation to prevent souls from falling into hell. What an excellent teaching against the pernicious heresy of the neo-modernist theology that is devastating the Church!
  • The Consecration of Russia can only be done by a chastened, penitent Pope, one who has learned the hard way of the futility of following a religion of man. This is in stark contrast to the shallow arrogance exemplified by the current Pope of the Twitterverse and his encyclical on climate change.

The Last Words of Christ and the Passion of the Church

There is a tradition in the Church that compares the Passion of Christ to the Passion of His Church. This Lent as we approach Holy Week, let’s consider for a moment the last words of Jesus as He was dying on the Cross. We may find it fruitful to think of Our Lord’s last words, which He uttered at such great cost, as they relate to the history of the Church. Here is an example:

“Father, forgive them, for they know what they do.” (Luke 23:34) The First Word was spoken by Jesus as He was nailed to the Cross and raised up to the jeering mockery of His executioners and passersby. It can be applied to the earliest period of the Church, a time of severe persecution, as many early Christians followed their Master to death at the hands of anti-Christians.

“Amen, I say to you, this day thou shalt be with Me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43) This Second Word applies especially to the early ages of the Church as His beloved martyrs built His Holy Church by their sufferings united to His saving Passion and Death.

“Woman, behold thy son.” (John 19:26) The first part of the Third Word may be applied to the rise of the Marian Age, beginning with the phenomenon of the Rosary revealed by the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Dominic in 1214 and rapidly spreading throughout the Church, effectively counteracting heresies, winning battles, converting sinners and sanctifying saints. Although the rudiments of the rosary predated St. Dominic, his response to Our Lady’s command to preach the Rosary was what brought the Marian Age into full flower. Through the Rosary, Our Blessed Mother brought many millions of souls to Christ.

“Behold thy Mother.” (John 19:27) The second part of the Third Word is most appropriate to the latter times, when Our Lord has sent His Blessed Mother to warn us to repent and stop offending Him. At Fatima, Our Blessed Mother commanded renewed reparation and emphasized the importance of praying the Rosary. This command required an obedient response both from the hierarchical Church and from the laity. But sadly, it has been widely ignored. The opposite of passion is indifference and part of the message of Fatima is to make reparation for indifference to God’s commands. This post-Fatima period, the latter part of the Marian Age, is marked by widespread indifference to the Fatima message. It is during these times that we must work more than ever before to spread the message of Fatima, so that as many souls as possible are given the opportunity to come to Our Lady of the Rosary before the culmination of the Chastisement.

“My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27:46) The Fourth Word may signify the period of the Chastisement in which nations will be wiped from the face of the earth in a matter of seconds and millions will perish outright, with the survivors envying the dead. During this period without the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Our Lady’s Rosary and Consecration to  her Immaculate Heart will sustain the remnant of the elect.

“I thirst.” (John 19: 28) The Fifth Word may be applied to Christ’s reaching out to those suffering in the time of the Chastisement, offering them the opportunity to turn to Him and unite their sufferings with His for their salvation. It also applies to the time of peace following the Chastisement, during which many souls will be drawn to Christ through the reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

“It is consummated.” (John 19:30) This Sixth Word may be applied to the period when the number of chosen souls is complete and the Antichrist deceives many.

“Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.” (Luke 23:46) This final Word signifies the presumed victory of the Antichrist over the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, just before the triumphant, conclusive victory of Christ the King at the end of time, bringing forth the true glory of His Resurrected Mystical Body. Just at the moment that satan believes he is victorious over Christ, Jesus ransoms His own!

In short, during this time of the Passion of the Church, we do well to bear in mind that we follow this crucified Savior. His Passion is fearful to behold, but we follow and trust in His infinite mercy. We are Mary’s children after all and our place is at the foot of His cross.

Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

The Message of Fatima – 2015

Please note, this post has been updated since Father Gruner’s death.

The following post has been reposted from time to time due to its relevance.  If you find it useful, please send it along to others who might benefit. Thank you!

The oldest of the shepherd children of Fatima, Lucia explained the message of Fatima to Father Fuentes years later:

Father, the Most Holy Virgin did not tell me that we are in the last times of the world, but She made me understand this for three reasons.”

Sister Lucia of Fatima at Dorothean Convent, 1945
Sister Lucia of Fatima at Dorothean Convent, 1945

“The first reason is because She told me that the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Virgin. And a decisive battle is the final battle where one side will be victorious and the other side will suffer defeat. Also, from now on we must choose sides. Either we are for God or we are for the devil. There is no other possibility.

“The second reason is because She said to my cousins as well as to myself, that God is giving two last remedies to the world. These are the Holy Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of MaryThese are the last two remedies which signify that there will be no others.”

“The third reason is because in the plans of Divine Providence, God always, before He is about to chastise the world, exhausts all other remedies. Now, when He sees that the world pays no attention whatsoever, then as we say in our imperfect manner of speaking, He offers us with certain fear the last means of salvation, His Most Holy Mother. It is with certain fear because if you despise and repulse this ultimate means, we will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven, because we will have committed a sin which the Gospel calls the sin against the Holy Ghost. This sin consists of openly rejecting, with full knowledge and consent, the salvation which He offers. Let us remember that Jesus Christ is a very good Son and that He does not permit that we offend and despise His Most Holy Mother. … Our Lord Jesus Christ has always defended the honor of His Mother.”

“Look, Father, the Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary, to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world, or of the religious communities, or even of the life of peoples and nations, that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary we will save ourselves, we will sanctify ourselves, we will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls.”

“Finally, devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Most Holy Mother, consists in considering Her as the seat of mercy, of goodness and of pardon, and as the certain door by which we are to enter Heaven.”

The message of Fatima is then that we are now in a life or death struggle, even though most people are oblivious. As Sister Lucia warns us, “we must choose sides. Either we are for God or we are for the devil. There is no other possibility.Where do you stand?

The purpose of this blog is to call Catholics to return to Fatima. Re-examine the message given to us by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Remove the blinders that are making you think that Fatima was “a long time ago, and is no longer relevant”.

Fatima’s message is more relevant today than it ever was. When Pope John XXIII refused to release the message that Our Lady commanded be released in the year 1960, the world experienced a spiritual shock: the Vicar of Christ on earth refusing to obey the Mother of Christ. Never before in history has such a thing happened.

Archbishop Sheen’s Prophecy

In 1950, Archbishop Fulton Sheen foretold the events which seem to be happening now, as the Chastisement of Fatima continues to unfold, with the present occupant of the See of Peter.

Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen

In his book, Communism and the Conscience of the West, here is what (then) Father Sheen said:

We are living in the days of the Apocalypse, the last days of our era. The two great forces-the Mystical Body of Christ and the Mystical Body of the anti-Christ are beginning to draw battle lines for the catastrophic contest.

The False prophet will have a religion without a cross. A religion without a world to come. A religion to destroy religions. There will be a counterfeit Church.

Christ’s Church the Catholic Church will be one; and the false Prophet will create the other.

The False Church will be worldly, ecumenical, and global. It will be a loose federation of churches and religions, forming some type of global association.

A world parliament of Churches. It will be emptied of all Divine content, it will be the mystical body of the anti-christ. The Mystical Body on earth today will have its Judas Iscariot, and he will be the false prophet. Satan will recruit him from our Bishops.

The Antichrist will not be so called; otherwise he would have no followers. He will not wear red tights, nor vomit sulphur, nor carry a trident nor wave an arrowed tail as Mephistopheles in Faust. This masquerade has helped the Devil convince men that he does not exist. When no man recognizes, the more power he exercises. God has defined Himself as “I am Who am,” and the Devil as “I am who am not.”

Nowhere in Sacred Scripture do we find warrant for the popular myth of the Devil as a buffoon who is dressed like the first “red.” Rather is he described as an angel fallen from heaven, as “the Prince of this world,” whose business it is to tell us that there is no other world. His logic is simple: if there is no heaven there is no hell; if there is no hell, then there is no sin; if there is no sin, then there is no judge, and if there is no judgment then evil is good and good is evil. But above all these descriptions, Our Lord tells us that he will be so much like Himself that he would deceive even the elect–and certainly no devil ever seen in picture books could deceive even the elect. How will he come in this new age to win followers to his religion?

The pre-Communist Russian belief is that he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves. . . .

The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion–one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s.

In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counter-church which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. . . .

But the twentieth century will join the counter-church because it claims to be infallible (when its visible head speaks ex cathedra from Moscow on the subject of economics and politics, and as chief shepherd of world communism.)

Now Archbishop Sheen was both very familiar with the message of Fatima about the Chastisement to come, and the threat posed by the “errors of Russia”. Hence the portion of his prophecy above that references the anti-church taking orders from Moscow, which may not seem applicable today. But there is a pretty good case to be made that on this point, as well, Archbishop Sheen was correct. That will be the subject of a further post or two.

It is becoming increasingly clear, even to the Novus Ordo “conservative” Catholics, that Pope Francis is preaching a “religion of man”, emptied of all concept of sin, and even of Jesus Christ crucified. Thus, he is not preaching salvation but damnation.

We should thank God and our Blessed Mother for mercifully making the truth of the current time glaringly clear for all to see. As Sister Lucia repeated so often, “Penance, penance, penance!”

Advent is such a beautiful time for us to strengthen and renew our resolve to consecrate our entire lives, all that we are, to the Immaculata in order to hasten the triumph of her reign.

Above all, Pray the Rosary and Confound the Devil and those who serve him.

†  Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
†  Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey!
†  Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
†  St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests.
†  St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Please pray for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

~ by evensong for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!

The Message of Fatima Repost

Let us remember that Jesus Christ is a very good Son and that He does not permit that we offend and despise His Most Holy Mother. We have recorded through many centuries of Church history the obvious testimony which demonstrates by the terrible chastisements which have befallen those who have attacked the honor of His Most Holy Mother, how Our Lord Jesus Christ has always defended the honor of His Mother.”

The message of Fatima is then that we are now in a life or death struggle, even though most people are oblivious. As Sister Lucia warns us, “we must choose sides. Either we are for God or we are for the devil. There is no other possibility.” Where do you stand?

The purpose of this blog is to call Catholics to return to Fatima. Re-examine the message given to us by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Remove the blinders that are making you think that Fatima was “a long time ago, and is no longer relevant”.

Fatima’s message is more relevant today than it ever was. When Pope John XXIII refused to release the message that Our Lady commanded be released in the year 1960, the world experienced a spiritual shock: the Vicar of Christ on earth refusing to obey the Mother of Christ. Never before in history has such a thing happened.

And thus began the Chastisement.

The initial chastisement was the result of the spiritual blindness which descended upon the pope and hierarchy following their willful disobedience. When one separates himself from God by mortal sins, the darkened reason is unable to discern the correct path and stumbles into error and folly. Vatican II and its poisonous fruits, which caused unprecedented abandonment of religious vocations and the loss of faith and Catholic identity of entire nations was the fruit of this spiritual ignorance which descended upon the Church.

When God chastens us, He is merciful, indeed, His mercy and His justice are inseparable. The initial chastisement of the catastrophic Second Vatican Council could have been mitigated. If only the Pope had seen the noxious results for what they were and repented, his repentance would have brought down God’s mercy.

But the hearts of the popes were hardened and they have persisted in their arrogant disobedience of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Mother. The result has been an unmitigated disaster for the Catholic Faith. Sister Lucia of Fatima reminds us still, God’s own Most Holy Mother is the last means of salvation we are offered. Until Catholics return to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with humility, repentance and obedience, the Chastisement will continue to unfold, bringing with it ever more severe spiritual desolation, a desolation which will soon reach proportions never before seen, with such physical calamities that those who survive them will envy the dead.

We know that in the end, her Immaculate Heart will triumph; the only question that remains is will we choose to be hers, will we take the steps necessary to be on the winning side?

What steps are called for today, at this late hour? What can we do here in the 21st century?

To begin with, at a very minimum, we must:

Consecrate ourselves immediately to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. No specific formula is required for this, nor is any priest required for this initial step. Just kneel down now and sign yourself with the Cross, begging the Blessed Virgin Mary in her perfect purity and fullness of grace to take you as her child and help you to turn from your sins and follow her commands, trusting her to lead you to perfect obedience to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Resolve to surrender your entire being, body and soul, mind and will, to her to do with as she wills.

  • Pray Our Lady’s Rosary every day, at least one third (5 decades), but all three if possible. Optimally, pray the rosary with your family or friends whenever possible.
  • Wear Our Lady’s Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel. If you were enrolled previously, you may simply begin wearing it, if not enrolled, a priest may enroll you. Information on this may be obtained from Father Gruner’s Fatima Center. Or contact me, evensong (at) returntofatima (dot) org.
  • Obtain St. Louis de Montfort’s or St. Maximilian Kolbe’s program for Total Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Both can be found online. The true total consecration must be lived daily, indeed minute by minute. It is easy once you understand that it doesn’t depend on your effort, it depends on your constant trust in Mary, your Mother.
  • Avoid the Novus Ordo Mass and all sacraments using post-Vatican II ritual. The changes instituted by the Vatican II “reforms” are the fruits of an arrogant, disobedient faction of the true Church. Eschew all modernism and attend a true, traditional Mass such as Society of St. Pius X, Fraternal Society of St. Peter, or a traditional indult or Moto Proprio Mass.
  • Make Our Lady’s First Saturdays for at least five months in a row. Better, continue them in a spirit of reparation for all the Catholics who refuse to obey Our Lady.
  • Fulfill the duties of your state in life with humility and obedience, as a faithful child of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As you continue on this path, you will find many more ways to live more perfectly as a child of Mary.

Take every opportunity to read more about Fatima and its true message. Pray and sacrifice daily for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as requested by our Lady of Fatima. John Vennari’s Catholic Family News and Michael Matt’s Remnant Newspaper are dependable sources for all things related to Fatima, true Catholic teaching and the errors of Vatican II.

If at all possible, get to know other true Catholics. and above all, spread the word!

It may be too late for us to stave off a coming physical chastisement of apocalyptic proportions. We have a president who seems intent on destroying our country in order to bring about a third world style marxist dictatorship, and we have a pope who seems determined to complete the destruction of the faith begun by Vatican II. It looks as though the defiance of Pope Bergoglio, in fact his utter disdain for the Immaculate Heart of Mary and her message, will bring about a much more severe chastisement than would have been possible before he took over.

All that is left is for us to draw close to the Immaculate Heart of the Mother of God and trust in her merciful love, which will never fail us. Let us strive to save our souls and all those souls who have been entrusted to us.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, be our salvation, now and at the hour of our death!

Pope Francis and Fatima

The following is an updated repost regarding Pope Francis disdain for Fatima.

At Fatima, Our Lord Jesus Christ sent us His Beloved Mother to offer us His mercy yet again, if we heed the call to penance and reparation to her Immaculate Heart, which is the means He gives to us to save ourselves and other sinners from the wrath of His justice.

In her apparitions at Fatima and the ones following, when Sister Lucia was at her convent, Our Lady showed her Immaculate Heart and requested specific reparations be made; among them were the First Saturdays of Reparation and the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, by the Pope and the Bishops. Our Lord Jesus Christ also appeared to Lucia to request compliance with Our Lady’s wishes. The apparition of 13 June, 1929 was the most significant of the apparitions and in it, Our Blessed Mother formally requested the Consecration of Russia.

That apparition  deserves a post of its own and I am working on it, but for right now, suffice to say that the Virgin Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ requested acts of reparation and obedience, both private, – as in our rosaries and offerings of sacrifice and penance in our daily duties – and public, – as in the First Saturdays of reparation and the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope and Bishops.

Never at any time has any Pope since Fatima propagated the acts of reparation needed. An encyclical or Moto Proprio enjoining the First Saturdays of Reparation would have helped so much. As would the simple compliance of Consecrating Russia properly. The Popes instead made “entrustments” and consecrated the world and so on; apparently dancing around the edges of the issue while dodging the actual obedience required.

And all the while, God’s wrath is building. And His signs increase as well. In the midst of the horrible apocalyptic blast at Hiroshima, devout Catholics were spared, totally untouched by the radiation. In Pope Francis’ own domain, in Buenos Aires a beautiful Eucharistic miracle was given, but went unheeded by this Pope who evidently has a tin ear for the Eucharistic sacrifice.

Vatican II was a severe chastisement for the Church and its work of destroying the Church is coming to a climax shortly. The Vatican II wrecking crew have so thoroughly done their jobs that few Catholics today have any inkling of the true faith. Therefore, they are not that distressed in the unfortunate utterances of Pope Francis and his gaffe of the day routine. Even traditional Catholics did not object at Pope Begoglio’s awful consecration of his reign to Our Lady of Fatima. If sincere, he should have gone to Fatima and humbled himself and personally consecrated his pontificate to Our Lady of Fatima, humbly vowing to be obedient to her demands, all of them!

Since this post was originally written, we have had yet another “entrustment” of the world, which is becoming insulting. To understand how insulting these continued false consecrations, or entrustments of the world are, I offer an example.  Continue reading “Pope Francis and Fatima”

Pope Bergoglio’s New Pentecost

Catholic Family News (www.cfnews.org)  has some essential reading. Here it is, in its entirety, although the emphasis is mine:

Francis and four points of Apostate Action
Islamic prayers to be held at the Vatican
by John Vennari

This Sunday, June 8, Pope Francis will allow for the first time in history Islamic prayers from the Quoran to be recited at the Vatican. The service is said to be in the cause of Peace in the Middle East (see report below). Members of Judaism will be part of the interfaith gathering as well. This radical initiative is scandalous on at least four counts:  Continue reading “Pope Bergoglio’s New Pentecost”

Rosary Crusade – Why Now?

At Fatima and in her appearances after Fatima to Sister Lucia of Fatima, Our Lady of the Rosary continued to ask for reparation in addition to the rosary. There have been many Rosary Crusades called for, many millions of rosaries prayed. However, few have also called for participants to offer sacrifices of reparation with their rosaries.

I remember an episode in one of Sister Lucia of Fatima’s Memoirs where she related that she and Blessed Francisco had been besieged with questions by pilgrims. To one who asked if Our Lady requested we pray the Rosary for sinners, she replied, “No”. Afterwards, Blessed Francisco said, “you did not tell the truth”. She responded, “Our Lady said we should do penance and pray the Rosary.”

And now, at last, a group of the most persecuted Catholics in the world has asked for a Rosary Crusade, including penance. That group is the Society of St. Pius X. For many years, the Society has promoted the Message of Fatima, in keeping the First Saturdays of Reparation and of course, the Rosary, especially the family Rosary. In her later life, Sister Lucia was saddened that her attempts to get the Rosary declared a liturgical prayer and not merely a private devotion. The Society by its actions does this by incorporating the Rosary in pretty much every liturgical event.  Continue reading “Rosary Crusade – Why Now?”

Fatima — The Chastisement of Impurity

“Father, the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Blessed Virgin. And the devil knows what it is that most offends God and which in a short space of time will gain for him the greatest number of souls. Thus, the devil does everything to overcome souls consecrated to God, because in this way, the devil will succeed in leaving souls of the faithful abandoned by their leaders, thereby the more easily will he seize them.

That which afflicts the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus is the fall of religious and priestly souls. The devil knows that religious and priests who fall away from their beautiful vocation drag innumerable souls to Hell … The devil wishes to take possession of consecrated souls. He tries to corrupt them in order to lull to sleep the souls of laypeople and thereby lead them to final impenitence.” (Sister Lucia of Fatima to Father Agustin Fuentes, December, 1957)

In that same interview, Sister Lucia had stated that the Blessed Virgin Mary was very sorrowful because no one had heeded her message. She also stressed that at that particular time, that is, in 1957, “the punishment from heaven is imminent.” Sister Lucia had earlier, in 1955, told Cardinal Ottaviani that the secret was to be revealed in 1960, “because it will be clearer then“.  Continue reading “Fatima — The Chastisement of Impurity”

Evensong

[If you are searching for information regarding the post author, evensong, it can be found on our “About” page.]

In this twilight of our Christian era, the darkness gathers. Eventually it will bring a purifying chastisement and a rebirth of the Faith. I am struck by the coincidence of the closing of my own life with this transition of our Christian era. And so I thought to repost a very old post from my previous blog.

Twilight was always the favorite time of day for my Father-in-law and thus, it became mine. Evensong is a hymn/prayer that stays with me in the evening of my life. Continue reading “Evensong”
