Despising Mary

Today is the first Saturday of March, 2016. We are therefore in the countdown to the end of the century of Fatima, although the world does not note this and even many Catholics, some calling themselves traditionals, despise devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. What does this mean to us?

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

“God is giving two last remedies to the world. These are the Holy Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. … there will be no others. …if you despise and repulse this ultimate means, we will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven, because we will have committed a sin which the Gospel calls the sin against the Holy Ghost. This sin consists of openly rejecting, with full knowledge and consent, the salvation which He offers.”

Recently it came to my attention that there are actually Catholics who consider themselves traditionalists, who despise the Fatima prayer that we pray at the end of each decade of the Rosary. Until I read of it, I was blissfully ignorant that there could exist someone who was so prissily concerned with all aspects of the liturgy, and yet who disdains the prayer that Our Lady asked us to add to her Rosary. The Rosary, which she also gave us centuries ago, and by which she has favored us with so many graces. Ah, but of course, those were “private revelations”, and of no consequence, just as devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is merely another “private revelation”.

It is easy for such people to dismiss Our Lady of Fatima and her message and prayers, for they are the arbiters of all things Catholic, at least in their own minds. Until I came across that site, I had not fully understood Sister Lucia’s warning. I thought all we needed to do was make Catholics aware of the true message of Fatima, and of course, Catholics would flock to Our Mother, eager to pray her Rosary with renewed devotion, happy to pray the Fatima Prayer which is such a beautiful prayer straight from Our Lady herself and filled with her maternal solicitude for her erring children.

Why Not First Saturdays?

Satan is engaged in a decisive battle with the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Church. In this battle, which Sister Lucia describes emphatically as final, “either we are for God, or we are for the devil, there is no other possibility.”

Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array?
Grant that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin, give me strength against thy enemies!

To arm us for this battle, God gives us two remedies,, the Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Sr. Lucia warns, “if you despise and repulse this ultimate means, we will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven, because we will have committed a sin which the Gospel calls the sin against the Holy Ghost.”

To be very clear, when Lucia said “We will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven”, that means there will be no mitigation, no easing, of the terrible Chastisement about to befall mankind. There are many, many prophesies about this, from the Apocalypse on down through the ages, But for now, our focus is Fatima. And in this, Our Lady of the Rosary could not be more clear:

“I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions against the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated.”

2016: Reparation is the key

2016: Reparation is the key.
Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array?
Grant that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin, give me strength against thy enemies!

“Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array?” (Canticles, 6, 9)
R. Thanks be to God.
V. Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin.
R. Give me strength against thine enemies.
V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

The prayer above is from the hour of Prime in the traditional Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Those who say it often are familiar with the frequent references to battle and enemies that run through the Little Office. This is because the Little Office, as a liturgical prayer of the Church, reflects the intense battle being waged against the Bride of Christ by the powers of darkness and deceit. The prayers of the Little Office are a daily reminder of the “enmity between (satan’s) seed and her seed”.

For centuries, this simple Office has been the earnest prayer of those who are called to embrace Mary, the Immaculate Mother of our Savior as their own Mother. We are not called to merely enjoy the comforts of her love in pious prayer, but to serve our Queen actively in this intense and ongoing battle.

The Angel’s Message — A Closer Look

In 2000, the Vatican advised Catholics that Fatima’s message was relegated to the past. However, at Fatima on May 13, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI confirmed that, “we would be mistaken to think that the prophetic mission of Fatima is complete“.  And yet, the misinformation campaign from the Vatican continues to bear fruit in the widespread apathy to the true penitential message of Fatima. Any faithful Catholic who has been paying attention to the unfolding crisis of the faith under Pope Francis, can clearly see that the current papacy is not in any way obedient to the message of the Mother of God at Fatima and the Church does not seem to be able to pull out of this self-destructive mode without Divine assistance. Perhaps it is wise to revisit the message of the Angel of Fatima

At Fatima, in 1917, Our Savior Jesus Christ sent us His own Holy Mother as His emissary to urge us to turn from sin, repent and renew our spiritual battle in prayer and reparation. But did you know that the year before, in Summer of 1916,   St. Michael the Archangel, God’s own great warrior, who vanquished Satan and his minions into the eternal fires of hell, appeared to Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta? Fatima scholars believe that St. Michael was preparing the little shepherds to receive Our Lady’s revelations.

The Angel of Fatima
“Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men.
Make reparation for their crimes and console Our Lord

What did the Angel say? After identifying himself as the Angel of Peace, he taught the children to pray. Now, you may well ask, if the Angel was the great warrior Angel of God, St. Michael the Archangel, why did he identify himself as the Angel of Peace? Because as St. Michael knows, peace will only result when Satan is vanquished. In this, our final battle, our greatest spiritual armaments are prayer and sacrifice. In fact, the very essence of the Catholic Faith, the epitome of Catholicity is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which unites the most perfect and acceptable prayer with the most perfect and unblemished sacrifice.

After assuring the children at that first visit that “The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications”, the Angel left them, only to return in a few months. At the time, the children were relaxing in the shade of a fig tree beside a well. The Angel reappeared chiding them, “What are you doing? Pray, pray a great deal! The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy for you! Offer unceasingly to the Most High prayers and sacrifices!”

Lucia then asked the Angel how they were to sacrifice themselves. “Offer up everything within your power as a sacrifice to the Lord in an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended; and of supplication for the conversion of sinners….Above all, accept and bear with submission the sufferings that the Lord may send you.”

Reminiscing later, Sister Lucia remarked that the words of the Angel enlightened them to Who God is, how God wants us to love Him and how much He values our sacrifices and rewards them with conversion of sinners. From that time on, the children occupied themselves increasingly in praying to God as the Angel had taught them and making use of the opportunities for sacrifice that presented themselves, moment by moment in their daily lives.

That Autumn, the Angel appeared in the most remarkable of his apparitions thus far. He held a chalice in his hand, over which was suspended a Host, from which drops of Precious Blood fell into the chalice. Leaving the Sacred Host and Chalice suspended in the air, the Angel then prostrated himself on the ground before it, repeating the following prayer:

First Saturdays of Reparation

Amidst all the clamor and confusion of these latter days, We here repeat our constant plea for First Saturdays of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Awaiting the Church's Obedience to the Mother of God
Awaiting the Church’s Obedience to the Mother of God

There are many, many wonderful, dedicated Catholics expending their resources and efforts alerting Catholics to the errors of the Pope and Bishops and  many are calling for the Consecration of Russia, which can only be accomplished by a humble and obedient Pope and Bishops. In other words, by people who do not presently exist in this poor Church. How few, in contrast expend their efforts promoting something much simpler and within the grasp of all, or most Catholics. The First Saturdays of Reparation are something we can do and should do.

First Saturdays of Reparation are Essential in Order to Obtain the Consecration of Russia

That statement, that the First Saturdays are essential to fulfill the requests of Our Lady of Fatima in order to end the chastisement is obvious and incontrovertible.  The message of Fatima demands worldwide repentance, reparation through the First Saturdays and through one’s daily duties of state.

If you have a forum, be it online or in print, and you point out the errors of the Church today, and try to inform your readers about the message of Fatima, and yet you fail to stress the First Saturdays of Reparation and the need for total reparation, day by day, minute by minute reparation through the sacrifice of our daily duties, through Total Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, you are misleading your readers. You are giving them a partial truth that is more dangerous than an outright lie. A partial truth that informs Catholics about the problems, yet does not teach them the weapons Our Lady has given us to fight this evil, only serves to dishearten them and drive them towards the heresy of sedevacantism.

To all of you who affirm the truth that the Consecration of Russia has not been done, I urge you to give your utmost attention to reminding people, as vigorously as possible, of the need for the First Saturdays of Reparation. Please tell others how necessary the First Saturdays are and how they must be performed.

People must know:

Our Lady of Fatima requests that the devotion of First Saturdays of Reparation consist of:

  • Confession (may be within 8 days either before or after).
  • Holy Communion
  • 5 Decade Rosary (““o terzo”, Portuguese for one third of the Rosary.)
  • 15 minutes of visiting with Our Lady in reparation, while meditating on mysteries of her Rosary

Each of the above steps, that is, Confession, Communion, Rosary and meditation must be offered in a spirit of reparation, of course.

To repeat: The message of Fatima demands worldwide repentance, reparation through the First Saturdays and through one’s daily duties of state.

In her more than 2,000 years existence, the Church has never before faced such a diabolical onslaught from the depths of hell. Many “experts” attempt to minimize the danger by pointing out that the Church has had apostate popes many times before. But never has the Church had such a preponderance of those who actively seek to destroy her from within, who actively proselytize for sodomy, who attack faithful Catholics and drive them from the Church.

The filth and stench of corruption in the Vatican cannot be extirpated by mere human effort. It is a most grievous offense before God, and there is no remedy but that which He Himself has given us in His Immaculate Mother, to whom alone it is given to crush the head of satan and drive him from the Church. If you want the Church cleansed from these impurities and renewed again, there is no remedy but Mary!

If everyone who posted on the problems in the Church would give at least some of their effort to promoting the First Saturdays of Reparation, we could be certain of a generous response from the Immaculata, who never fails her children. Please help promote this essential devotion.

Pray the Rosary and confound the devil!

Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary 2014

Today, the octave of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we honor her Immaculate Heart. When Lucia, speaking for the little shepherds, asked Our Lady to take them to Heaven, Our Lady replied,

“Yes, Jacinta and Francisco, I will take them soon, but you shall remain here for a certain time. Jesus wishes to use you to make me known and loved. He wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.” Then, to Lucia’s plaintive plea, “Am I to be left here all alone?”, she responded with a solemn promise, “No, my daughter, you suffer a great deal. Do not be discouraged, I will never abandon you! My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge, and the way which will lead you to God.”

Immaculate Heart of Mary
Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Mother, Pray for Us Now and at the Hour of Our Death. Amen.

Over twenty years later, Lucia confided in her confessor, Father Aparicio that Our Lady’s promise had indeed been her consolation.

“The Immaculate Heart of Mary is my refuge, especially in the most difficult hours. There, I am always secure. It is the heart of the best of mothers; it is always attentive and it watches over the least of its children. How this certainty encourages and strengthens me! In her I find strength and consolation. This Immaculate Heart is the channel by which God makes the multitude of His graces gush into my soul. Help me to be grateful to her and to correspond to such great mercies.”

And on December 10, 1925, Sister Lucia was favored with a visit from our Blessed Mother and the Child Jesus. First, the Child Jesus spoke,

“Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation.”

Then, our Blessed Mother extended her hand in which she held her heart surrounded with thorns and said,

“Behold, my daughter, my heart encircled with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Do you at least try to console me and announce in my name that I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months confess, receive Holy Communion, recite the Rosary and keep me company for 15 minutes meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary with the intention of making reparation to me.”

On this her feast day, she is always especially generous to her true children, those who are consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. Ask her boldly for the graces you need to advance in her service! You will be amazed at her generosity! Here is a prayer I’ve had for many years; not sure where it came from, but it is lovely and I hope it will be of some benefit for you, too.

That statement, that the First Saturdays are essential to fulfilling the requests of Our Lady of Fatima and end the chastisement which is unfolding in the auto-demolition of the Church is so obvious and incontrovertible. I am not normally a contentious person, but I defy anyone who reads this to prove otherwise. I realize that Father Rostand has done much, within the Society of St. Pius X in America to promote this devotion, but beyond the confines of the SSPX, in the larger areas of traditional Catholicism, I see little being done.
